my owner information is not displayed on the home screen anymore.I have a replacement BB from this week. anyone know which setting will make it appear?

I just installed the latest 5.0 OS, everything runs smooth but I can't see my owner or information in the home screen when I lock the device anymore, is there a way to have this shown all the time? even if I don't lock it? I was thinking about a custom theme or something, I really need that info/owner to be shown in the home screen, locked or unlocked.
I really love my BB, especially with this OS.
I have gone into Options, Owner Info, typed in my email address and pressed Save, but the information doesn't display on my Home Screen.

With the previous device software, the owner information would appear. Incidentally, the owner information will appear if I lock (with a password) the device; but I typically do not have the need nor wish to go through the bother of using a password.Is this simply a glitch? Is there a workaround? Or, must we wait for Blackberry to update the software or provide a fix/patch?

When I go to the home screen, and click the menu, then options, it gives me settings for Home Scren Preferences. But there are no owner options. Just home screen preferences. I can make and receive calls and download apps so I'm confused by what could be causing all of this.

Is that a "new feature"? It'd be nice to display the owner info if I accidentally leave my berry somewhere and all the person has to do is touch a button to display the info.
When you pull down the top screen and hit the setting button you see a list of icons. One of those icons being the owner. How can I update that icon to my information?

View 4 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two.When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.

You can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up a menu where I can read my email and make calls (the trackball works here), but I can't select anything on the home screen, or on the large list of icons.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone got cut off (forgot to make a payment. Sue me). I called ATT, made the payment and got the phone up and running. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.

Basically I can't get to the home screen, I have a password on my phone, soon as I try to unlock it the phone locks up.
I've done a battery pull and removing the SD card and the SIM but no joy.
But if I use the phone to make calls its fine.
Its really weird to say the least.
It could be the password causing it, is there anyway for me to disable the password outside of the phone itself? Such as using desktop manager? Or should I just bite the bullet and update the firmware?
Is there an option to change the amount of icons that appear on your home screen on the BB Bold? I have one row of six icons on the home screen, and would like to add another row of favorite icons to my home screen.

Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a few application that I thought were demos of games, but turned out to just be links to the developer's website. It was essentially just a ploy to get some extra revenue, which I suppose is their perogative, but I found the label to be misleading. In any case, I now wish to remove these "demos", but I can't seem to figure out how. The menu on selection won't let me remove the icon (it can be hidden, but I want it gone), and they don't show up under Setup --> Applications.They also don't appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I've been working on this for a while now, to no avail. Any thoughts?

I have recently notice a small red icon next to the carrier (Orange) name at the top of my 9700's home screen. On close examination it appears to be a house icon. I can't find reference to it in any of the booklets or by Googling. (I've also noticed that when I'm in the office it goes white).
