How can I change the icons on my home screen? Ive got 3 mail icons which I dont need. Is there a way to place links to apps on the home screen? Also, is there a way to autohide the icons so as to fully display the wallpaper?

I have a curve 8530. How do I change the icons on the home screen? Also, the messages icons, there are 2, one plain envelope and one envelope with a earth on it. Do the same messages from the earth one (which I assume means email) go into the plain envelope one which I think means ALL messages including BB PIN Messages? And then to other texts show up in the plain one?

One thing I'm wondering though is can the application icons on the bottom of the main (wallpaper) screen be changed for other applications? This is the default theme that came with the phone, btw. I've seen screen shots of this theme with different application icons. I set up 2 emails on my phone and now my phone has the Messages icon, 2 email icons, SMS/MMS icon, Contacts icon, and Calendar icon. I'd like to be able to switch these around if possible. For instance, I only want to see the "overall" Messages icon, and replace the 2 email icons.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have updated my OS to 7.1.0 Bundle 2039 and have noticed a few changes. Today my homescreen has a row of icons appeared at the bottom. In the previous version you could turn off the icons and only have a small up arrow shown that you could select to show the icons.
How do I switch off the icons on the home screen?
I used to have a row of icons on the bottom of the home screen but somehow they have all disappeared and now only come up when you go into all.

However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday my phone got cut off (forgot to make a payment. Sue me). I called ATT, made the payment and got the phone up and running. Problem was, my blackberry browser, ubertwitter and Facebook didn't work. But for some reason my opera mini did work. I called ATT and they did whatever it is they do and my phone worked again. This morning my phone froze. It stayed on the main screen and didn't do anything else. I did a battery pull and got the same thing. Now I can't even do a wipe because the phone stops responding when it gets to the main screen and my desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in. Can anyone help? I'm starting to wish I had just bought a damned iPhone.

Basically I can't get to the home screen, I have a password on my phone, soon as I try to unlock it the phone locks up.
I've done a battery pull and removing the SD card and the SIM but no joy.
But if I use the phone to make calls its fine.
Its really weird to say the least.
It could be the password causing it, is there anyway for me to disable the password outside of the phone itself? Such as using desktop manager? Or should I just bite the bullet and update the firmware?
Is there an option to change the amount of icons that appear on your home screen on the BB Bold? I have one row of six icons on the home screen, and would like to add another row of favorite icons to my home screen.
