I was out of my AT&T service area for the weekend and could not access a 3G network.When I returned, my email folders won't open and the screen freezes.The only way to release the screen is to reset it, but the email folders still will not open.

I recently changed the password online for that email, but not on the blackberry website yet because I fail to log in. when I enter my username, or PIn, it says it will send the info to my device, but that obviously doesn't work. I get the same error message each time - 'Your device had a problem connecting to the server'.I am running 4.7.1.61 on an unlocked Tour 9630, using a SIM card for a local provider.I have restarted the device and re-registered new service books.I have run a diagnostic test - it shows all connections to BlackBerry services - registration, connected to BlackBerry and PIN-PIN 'abort' yet I receive email on the existing account and can send PIN messages, etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new 9860 Torch today and all of a sudden I cannot open the options menu to change settings. Also I cannot view my network and connections to see whether my data service is turned on. I am currently not receiving data on my device. This is alarming as I spent a small fortune to acquire this device today. Again I discovered to my horror the earpiece jack does not hold in the port of my device and unable to listen to music via handsfree. The options icon on the home screen does not open at all when I touch it.Instead it freezes. Same with the network and connections options under network connections.

When i go to "Setup", "Email Accounts", then click on "Internet Mail Account", it simply circulates back to "Email Accounts". It keeps doing this repeatedly. I have done a soft and hard reset (by removing battery) and have updated software but nothing seems to help.

I was able to open an email setup confirmation from Blackberry but that is it. In addition I cannot surf the web or connect to the web. Verizon told me a defective phone but all else seems to work fine.Could it be a firmwear upgrade?

Text Messages options work, so I have no idea what could be wrong. its been like this since I got it. No matter how I try access it, I just can't, it doesn't do anything. Even if I go to "Setup", "Email Accounts", when I click on "Internet Mail Account", it does nothing. However "Enterprise Account" works. Now that I went back to my old sim card I got a message in my email accounts telling me that I have to validate the passwords, so I went to Email Settings but I got a message saying: "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue".

I have successfully created my BB Account onto the Carrier Site and added the Email IDs these are reflected onto the device but as I am unable to open Email Accounts under Setup I am unable to Edit or Delete the Email Accounts which I don't won't on this Handle. Every time the Modifications have to be done by going to the Carrier website.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recieved my Torch a few days ago and set up my gmail account on the handset which has been working perfectly. I've had to change my password for gmail on my account. However, when attempting to access the email accounts set up my phone will not let me into the option. Everything else works fine except this. I need my emails for work but, as I can't change the gmail password on my phone or add/delete any form of email account it's a little frustrating, especially as I got this phone due to it being praised for how good emails are on Blackberry. Are they working on a fix for this? I can't even access the Blackberry Internet service even though I have registered my phone.

I recently upgraded the firmware to version 6.0.0.2534 and since then I am no longer able to access my email account settings or add a new email account. I downgraded to the previous version, but still the problem, upgraded again but no luck. Every time I try to access my e mail settings it tells me to contact my provider, and sometimes the phone just freezes. I've tried all the various battery pulls but nothing. After spending hours on the phone with my provider, they tell me that the problem is not theirs but Blackberry!
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe purchased two 9800 Torch phones and both are having the same issue. Word, Excel, and PDF files all open fine on the devices. However, some emails will be received with attachments but the phone does not give the open or download attachment options. If you forward the message from the device, the attachment will still be attached. The issue is intermittent and I have not been able to pin down any consistently as I have received several emails with attachments successfully. The emails that will not give the attachment options also do not have the little paperclip on the email icon from the messages view. Again, hen this exact email is forwarded the attachment will arrive at the destination.

Both users had no issues on prior devices with multiple attachments opened daily.
i use torch white 9800- i already setup everything like it use too.. But suddenly even i already send servvice books synchronize etc with my device still-Trouble shoot- errorr - i cant open all my. My device prev iously remembered the User Name and Password (e.g., when I had to synchronize my e-mail whenever the password for the e-mail account changed) but now that the device has been replaced, it is now asking for this information which I have misplaced. Is there an easy way to re-set this password?
I do not remember the User name either (it says the password can be sent to the device if the correct User name is provided). Unfortunately right now I cannot access any e-mail on the device.
I recently created a back up of my phone. I followed the wrong advice and wiped the phone. So I went back and restored my back up. Everything backed up, however, the phone went back to default everything, selecting any tab or icon on the set up page will lock the phone when you try to back out or close, and emails cannot be configured - the emails reloaded but I cannot send, receive, or change any email settings - I get error message"unable to open email setup application. contact your wireless service provider." The MAIN issue now is my wireless service provider is not aware of this problem and they keep trying to send me updates via email not accepting that I cannot get my emails from my phone anymore. and are baffled that removing the battery and restarting isn't working?

But I am having difficulty accessing the email settings on my Torch so that I can tap in the new password. I go to "Set up" and then have the choice of "Internet mail account" or "Enterprise account". I click on the first one and get a page entitled "existing users". I then have to tap in my user name and password. I assume this refers to my blackberry username and password. But when I tap the info in and press "continue" I get a message saying "The user name is invalid. A user name must be at least 4 characters". My user name is my gmail address which includes 16 letters before @gmail.com.

I have tried accessing via the setup menu, where nothing happens when I select "Email Accounts" (even after a hard reboot), and through the Options menu in the messages folder. I have managed to set up several email accounts by simply going into the 'email" option in the "messaging" menu, but I can't set the phone to check for emails automatically or to notify me of new emails, etc, etc, in other words, I have no menu option, for adjusting the settings for emails. I am running the latest version of the software
version 10.60.
I can't open the settings menu - it just keeps crashing.
It started today and the phone had been getting really hot and draining battery at twice the speed it normally does, so I wanted to check battery usage in settings, which is when i discovered the fault.
Whether I try to access it through the main icon or via the pull-down tray icon, it just flashed white as if it was opening a new window, then returned to the menu.
I figured it was a case of hard reset as, due to the fact settings was unavailable, I couldn't even check for a new software update. So anyway, I hard reset and the problem is still there.
What's weirder is for the first 40 minutes or so it crashed in the same way as before, now it pops up and says 'sorry this crashed, would you like to send an error report'.
So I did. the error report says 'report type: crash, package name 'com.android.settings' ....
when i go for Settings>Connectivity options and then exit from everything, my mobile keeps showing that Settings are still open (small circle over the icon). when i try to inside settings again, the screen goes blank or returns to normal menu.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI haven't found any way to change notification settings (silent/priority/sound) in Xperia Z2 when listening music or if music app is running after listening music. I have tried with different music apps (Walkman, Google Music, Spotify) and problem is present with all music apps. This problem came with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) upgrade. If I want to change notifications, I have to stop the music and close the music app. With KitKat I could just press the power button longer and get the notification settings, but not anymore with Android 5.0.
