View 1 RepliesI have had a torch since October 2010 and just in the last 2 days it has stopped responding when using the keyboard or buttons.
When I pull the battery and reboot, I can use the touch screen to unlock, and then can go in to any item. Example: open text, can scroll and find a test to view, tap it and open. I can then reply, forward delete with the screen options but once that is done I am now stuck in the text message. My only option is to pull the battery.
I can not make phone calls but can answer by sliding up the screen. When call is done I can not end just have to wait for other person to hang up.
I have checked for Water damage and there is none, the phone has not had a hard drop and the to sides are very solid (not loose).
Since around 2 weeks I have a Torch 9860. Yesterday evening, when I was not using the device the Torch suddenly stopped functioning. When I turned it on again it said it was setting up but it didn't do anything. So after a few minutes I turned it off and on again but now it didn't react at all (so screen stays black, no button lightens up etc.). I can't get it turned on again, not even when I removed the battery for a few minutes. I also tried to charge it again as I wanted to be sure the battery was charged but this doesn't work either.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI own a blackberry Torch 9800 and the search facility within the emails is not functioning properly. I used to be able to highlight an email and then click search and this would then bring up all emails from a particular person or subject etc. When I try and do this now the search facility tries to search, but nothing happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Torch, and my trackpad was giving issues, so gave it for repair to the service center.Ever since its come back, the trackpad is fine, but the 4 buttons (Answer, Menu, Back, End call) lights are just not going off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got the Torch two weeks ago from Rogers and generally I don't have any problems with. But I've found that sometimes after I receive a call from someone and I've ended the call (by sliding the phone down), all my buttons stop working. The Keyboard, lock button, call, end, etc. No button works. But however, the touch screen works. I usually end up using the touch screen to turn off my phone and pull out my battery and put it back in.From there it works again. Its happened four times now. Has this happened to anyone else?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry torch was recently giving me a hard time using a few of the letter keys, I decided to let it sit overnight, this morning it's even worse I can't use the centre key to scroll or click on anything and non of my other keys work. I've only had this blackberry for about a month. Nothing that I do seems to work to reset it

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe touch screen works, but none of the buttons work. I have restarted, I have removed the battery numerous times, but nothing. It was working this morning. No water damage, no drop damage, just stopped working. I am limited in what I can do and almost every time I want to close an application, i need to remove the battery because there is no way to close. It's very frustrating. I can still take and make calls but have difficulty even hanging up after a call!I took it to ATT and it is no longer under warranty. I may just take it in to a repair place
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Torch for about four days now and I love it, but tonight, all of a sudden, the buttons on the slider face (phone, menu, trackpad, back, end/power) aren't lighting up anymore. is it something I did that's totally fixable?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is the second torch I've gotten with button problems. I've been a customer of blackberry and Telus for the past ten years.Blackberry, or Telus doesn't seem to give a care about the substandard quality of their product or their customers.I had a Storm and traded it in due to the buttons simply not working. Bought a Torch and six months later the buttons failed. Sent it in for warrantee and Telus blamed me for a problem I didn't even have to avoid the warantee until I complained so much they reoplaced it a few months back. Now this piece of **bleep** is giving me the same heartache.Called for support and they said to send it in for warrantee work. I'm a realtor and can't anmswer my phone half the time. I can't use the back button or the menu buttons. I get charged every time I send the phone back for an evaluation even though it's not my problem and its under warrantee.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe buttons won't work! None of them! Sometimes the one in the middle (navigator one!) that works going from side to side up and down but wont select anything and the rest just don't work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago whilst texting the buttons on my blackberry torch just stopped working. I thought maybe it was water damage because a bottle of water leaked in my bag whilst my blackberry was there but that was earlier in the day and it was fine afterwards. Anyway, when the keyboard stopped working I took the battery out for a day and put it back in and it still isn't working. I put it in a bag of rice for 24 hours and it's the same. Whats weird is that when I put it in safe mode the keyboard will all work for about 5 mins then stop again. And everything else works but the buttons - the phone itself is fine and I still get emails but I can't open them because the back button and everything doesnt work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am the owner of a Blackberry Torch, and all of a sudden today my keyboard and buttons ( back, red, green, and the blackberry button) won't work! The only way for me to do things on my Blackberry is if I pull the battery, put it back in, wait for it to load, then enter my password ( using the on screen keyboard) then click one app. And once I am done with that one app, I click my red button, and nothing happens same if I click the back button!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI updated my software last week and now my call and end call buttons rarely work, and the menu and return buttons on occassion stop working. I can't end a call and disconnect! or call a number on the screen without using the touch screen and enter button on the QWERTY key pad.Now my wifes phone (whose usage is SUPER LOW) is having the same problem....I tried to reload the latest software package, but it made NO difference.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthe menu key and back keys both stopped working today. my phone was working just fine last night and when i woke up today i found these issues. my software is up to date.battery pulls don't do anything to fix the problem.especially since whenever i open a program i can't go back and close it and end up having everything running and have to do a battery pull
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor Torch 9800: only the touch screen buttons are working. The entire keypad and the top 5 buttons (menu, send, etc) were not working. I did several battery pulls and it finally started working. However BBM, FB, WhatsApp, BB App Store stopped working, but the web browser was still working, so it was not a connectivity problem. Then the keyboard problem started again. I did another battery pull and is started working again, but still to access to FB, BBM or Whatsapp,
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with stopping the accidental hit of the onscreen mute or speaker buttons when I am using the phone. I noticed that if my face is too far away from the phone or I switch ears this can happen. Is there any way to lock the screen while I'm on the phone?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm afraid I know the answer to this issue, but is there a quick-fix (or has anyone had this before) to the lights underneath the bottom right panel buttons (the "Back" and "End Call/Power Off" buttons) not working? The lights underneat the bottom left side are still working, but barely.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a blackberry torch the other day, and am noticing today that the buttons surrounding the trackpad will not light up. They will flicker occasionally but theyd o not stay lit up. Seems like maybe a connection is lose or something. I'm not sure if this is new since I put the stuff from my old blackberry onto the new one but this is around the same time I noticed the problem. If I need to I'll get it fixed or something.... but im not sure if theres a software fix or something?
