I own a blackberry Torch 9800 and the search facility within the emails is not functioning properly. I used to be able to highlight an email and then click search and this would then bring up all emails from a particular person or subject etc. When I try and do this now the search facility tries to search, but nothing happens.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a torch since October 2010 and just in the last 2 days it has stopped responding when using the keyboard or buttons.
When I pull the battery and reboot, I can use the touch screen to unlock, and then can go in to any item. Example: open text, can scroll and find a test to view, tap it and open. I can then reply, forward delete with the screen options but once that is done I am now stuck in the text message. My only option is to pull the battery.
I can not make phone calls but can answer by sliding up the screen. When call is done I can not end just have to wait for other person to hang up.
I have checked for Water damage and there is none, the phone has not had a hard drop and the to sides are very solid (not loose).
the touch screen feature on my 9800 torch has simply stopped functioning.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI received notification to do a system update so i did to vs 6.0.0.3155, now i cang get emails, i have tried pulling the battery and restarting, i have tried going to set up and email and then it freezes and wont do anything. I have tried deleting email account from the phone completely and restarting the phone and tring to go through set up once again and the same thing it freezes up. also they touch pad is now not working properly as well as its working slowly

Whenever I get any mail on my BB and I read it, while Outlook is not open on my laptop, the mail is not delivered on my laptop at all. I have already ticked the "leave a copy of messages on Server" in accounts settings.
Further, I receive mails on my BB in bunches after a gap varying from 20 mins to 1 hour after the sender has sent the mail to me. I receive from 4 - 10 mails at one single time, but not as and when they are posted. After facing these problems, I upgraded the OS to 6.0.0 bundle 2647, however the behavior has not changed.
I travel overseas a lot and it will be very costly if my blackberry receives emails automatically for some of my messages contains technical drawings and graphics. How do I manually send and receive email on my Torch 9800?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI backed up my BB on Friday, wiped it out and restored the info again. After 15 hours (time that restoring lasted), it deleted all my emails from now until Sep 2011. I tried restoring again today, and it deleted all messages going back to Nov 2010 now. What can I do to have my emails up to date in my 9800? We are using Lotus Notes.

View 14 Replies View RelatedLet the guy in the store "sync" with Desktop Manager. No link through enterprise server until I can get to office computer but that's ok. I am trying to work through MSN account. But it won't receive emails, it won't send emails and it won't let me change the set up.
When I go into setup, it asks for the user name and password. I use my msn user name (inclusive of the @msn.com) and it says it is too short and must be 4 characters! It is! If I leave off the @msn.com, it says my info is wrong.
And I can't figure out how to remove the email account so I can try setting it up again.I did try to set up my gmail account - same issue.
I've been getting an incredible amount of spam recently. So I've tried setting up filters on my BB Torch 9800. If I set up only two or three filters, it seems to work fine. But if I set up more than that, the BB just stops receiving all emails, not just the filtered ones. I've checked to see that I've clicked the right options. I'm not, apparently. So what's the trick to setting up lots of filters to kill of this wretched spam? In Outlook, of course, it's easy -- I can set up rules to stop the **bleep** reaching my in-box -- and I was hoping it was going to be similarly easy to do on the BB. But it isn'.

If I log into my outlook account on a computer, I can see the email has been delivered to me.I called BB support, and they said that there is no way I can do an instant feed to my phone from an outlook account. When I did the even exchange, they were not able to transfer my info but luckily I backed up my old phone prior to going in.Now my problem is with my email accounts.No matter what ring tone/notification sound I pick - it doesn't notify me when I receive emails to my yahoo email account or my work email account.I've rebooted, deleted ALL apps...selected different ring tones but nothing.I receive the emails in my message list, but it never notifies me, which means I'll have to continuously check to see if I received work/personal emails throughout the day.And to top it off, I just discovered that I can't reply to my emails ANY emails from either account.I Menu click to 'Reply', but then when I menu click again to send, there is no 'Send' option. Only Save as Draft, etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my third blackberry and I love them and will never change to any other smartphone. I tried an Android phone and it just doesn't compare to the stability and e-mail functionality of a Blackberry.
However recently my phone (a Bold 9700) has begun to experience some e-mail problems. I can receive emails just fine but I cannot for the life of me send an e-mail! I have deleted all my accounts and reentered all the info but I still cannot send any emails. I also can not set up a microsoft exchange account. It does not even give me the option. Please help! I need do be able to send emails for work purposes.
Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI started using Gmail Exchange for my gmail account, its great however i lost the ability to "search emails on server" for example if "Rob" has sent me and email 2 days ago and still shows on my iPhone i can search for it, but if the email no longer sync with my iPhone and i need to hit "Search email on server" it doesnt find it, this feature was working with no problem when i was on imap, is it only me or is this feature broken on gmail exchange?
