Jan 4, 2011I have had a torch since October 2010 and just in the last 2 days it has stopped responding when using the keyboard or buttons.
When I pull the battery and reboot, I can use the touch screen to unlock, and then can go in to any item. Example: open text, can scroll and find a test to view, tap it and open. I can then reply, forward delete with the screen options but once that is done I am now stuck in the text message. My only option is to pull the battery.
I can not make phone calls but can answer by sliding up the screen. When call is done I can not end just have to wait for other person to hang up.
I have checked for Water damage and there is none, the phone has not had a hard drop and the to sides are very solid (not loose).

Oct 24, 2012I own a blackberry Torch 9800 and the search facility within the emails is not functioning properly. I used to be able to highlight an email and then click search and this would then bring up all emails from a particular person or subject etc. When I try and do this now the search facility tries to search, but nothing happens.

Aug 16, 2010I'm on my second Torch in 3 days. My touch screen stops working. my second phone is now having the same issue after 8hrs of having it. I have tried removing my protective privacy screen and still no dice. Is anyone else having this issue. I love the phone, but am thinking of switching to the Bold or iPhone since I have not had a reliable phone yet.

Dec 3, 2011I am getting constant app errors and it is rebooting on its own. When I hook it up to the Dewsktop Software it recognizes a device with my PIN but never initializes and eventually stops. How can reload the OS if it never gives me the option or am I done for?

Jun 12, 2011I've been getting an incredible amount of spam recently. So I've tried setting up filters on my BB Torch 9800. If I set up only two or three filters, it seems to work fine. But if I set up more than that, the BB just stops receiving all emails, not just the filtered ones. I've checked to see that I've clicked the right options. I'm not, apparently. So what's the trick to setting up lots of filters to kill of this wretched spam? In Outlook, of course, it's easy -- I can set up rules to stop the **bleep** reaching my in-box -- and I was hoping it was going to be similarly easy to do on the BB. But it isn'.

Yesterday I noticed that I can't load any of my banking apps (td bank and boa) or any secure website for that matter. The connection just times out. Everything else seems to load fine. Aug 11, 2010I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

Nov 10, 2012Since around 2 weeks I have a Torch 9860. Yesterday evening, when I was not using the device the Torch suddenly stopped functioning. When I turned it on again it said it was setting up but it didn't do anything. So after a few minutes I turned it off and on again but now it didn't react at all (so screen stays black, no button lightens up etc.). I can't get it turned on again, not even when I removed the battery for a few minutes. I also tried to charge it again as I wanted to be sure the battery was charged but this doesn't work either.

Jul 17, 2012when I synchronise my laptop to my BB Torch 9800, which has been working okay (ish), I now get an error for a calendar entry that doesn't exist. It comes up during the process to state I should remove the entry and try again.
However, it is not listed in any of my calendars and was an old entry I removed a while back but for some reason still thinks its there.
I have one way sych from laptop to BB do not sure why it doesn't just overwrite what's there or not?

Nov 28, 2011I want to use my blackberry as audio device when riding my bike. However i noticed that it just stops playing music when there is a new notification, once thats has been cleared, it just resumes playing. This is highly unusable 'cause the torch is somewhere in my jacket.
I saw that this was a common problem and i find it very unlicky that cracking my blackberry (which i bought for 800$) is the only solution to make it work like a 20$ mp3 player.
