BB Torch :: The Call, Menu, Back, And End Buttons Backlighting
Feb 26, 2012
I purchased a blackberry torch the other day, and am noticing today that the buttons surrounding the trackpad will not light up. They will flicker occasionally but theyd o not stay lit up. Seems like maybe a connection is lose or something. I'm not sure if this is new since I put the stuff from my old blackberry onto the new one but this is around the same time I noticed the problem. If I need to I'll get it fixed or something.... but im not sure if theres a software fix or something?
the menu key and back keys both stopped working today. my phone was working just fine last night and when i woke up today i found these issues. my software is up to date.battery pulls don't do anything to fix the problem.especially since whenever i open a program i can't go back and close it and end up having everything running and have to do a battery pull
I'm afraid I know the answer to this issue, but is there a quick-fix (or has anyone had this before) to the lights underneath the bottom right panel buttons (the "Back" and "End Call/Power Off" buttons) not working? The lights underneat the bottom left side are still working, but barely.
i know the back button and menu buttom supposed to be white and i checked with 2 friends of mine that also got the s6 and its white in their phones. also the home button is kinda moving but not so much... when i checked with my friends phone it wasn't moving. you think i should use my warranty for such a stupid thing? also the device is original and not fake. the screen sometimes (it didn't happen me in 5 days and today it happend again) the touchscreen stop responding to my finger for about a second. lets say i want to click an app so when i first clicked it it didn't work but when i tap again it worked. i think this is normal because sometimes you dont press very well.. any way. orange back and menu buttons and tell me if you got it to(inside a house, outdoor its white because of the sun) and the home key that is kinda moving (not so much but a little bit more than my friends does)
I have been having a few problems with my phone lately. Sometimes when I start the unit up in the morning no icons appear on my home screen although when I go into my apps they are all there. I would have to restart the phone a couple of times before everything would appear. Now I seem to have a permanent problem the touch sensitive buttons on the bottom of my phone for getting to the settings and the 'back' button do not light any more, but they do function.
I have gotten the inside of my phone wet and now the menu and back buttons click on their own, it's really annoying so I just want to disable the buttons and use assistant cursor that is built in the phone.
my phone was fully functional, until I dropped it off my bed, then stood on it getting up to get it off the floor, anywhoo, the screen had broke and only the three buttons on the bottom were working. I sent the phone off to be fixed and hey presto, I got a new fully functioning screen, but now the three buttons along the bottom do not work.
I`m using X10mini Color of my phone`s BACK, MENU & OPTION buttons are changed. But there isn`t any problem for side buttons (Volume & Camera) Can i get warranty for these buttons?
Have a Galaxy S2 on Sprint network and out of nowhere yesterday the home/menu/back/search buttons stopped working and the phone is running really slow. It came back for like 5 min yesterday afternoon but then started again. I've already done the factory reset and it's still the same way. If I press the call, message, contact buttons on the home screen nothing works. Can someone tell me what to do?
I have a blackberry torch 9800 and the menu key & back key doesn't work when i slide my phone up. It only works whenever I use the full touch option, it used to work before but it just suddenly stopped.
I've got a blackberry torch 9800 and recently when the screen is down (i.e. covering the keyboard) the call answer key and the menu key do not work. They work when the phone is raised, but not when it's not. I have tried restarting (both soft and hard) and have removed applications as well. I have since done a 'restore factory settings' on it. This seemed to work for all of 10 or so minutes but there after it reverted back to the keys not working when the cover is down.
I am experiencing since yesterday a rather annoying thing on my HTC ONE 4.3 (unbranded). In some Sense apps (Gallery, Mail, Music, People) some on screen buttons have become unresponsive.
The "three dots" menu button on the top right side of the screen does not react, as well as the "share" icon in the Gallery app. Same problem with the three dots menu button on Mail, Music and People (these are the apps I tested so far).
Its started happening yesterday but I've been running 4.3 for a couple of weeks now. I have the feeling it might be a Sense 5.5 issue rather than a 4.3 bug, because it. only affects the original Sense apps, not any other app that I have downloaded.
I have upgraded from a Curve to a Torch 9850. I have had the new phone for nearly 3 weeks and noticed that occasionally the back button and menu button would not work. In the beginning it was once or twice a day but this weekend it has been an all day event. The phone is fairly useless like this. It occurs with all applications as well as text and BB messenger.
Is there any way to turn this feature off?? This is getting very frustring to have it vibrate and it's not even discreet (it sounds like a loud buzzing noise on the other end). The person on the other line keeps asking what's that buzzing sound? This ISN'T a feature, in fact it's annoying to people I talk to on the phone and frustrating that I have to tell the other person everytime it's the phone vibrating. It does not make any difference in my life if it vibrates when I press the home, menu, return or search buttons.
How do I get the screen to turn back on when I am making a call? I dont know how this happened. I didnt drop my phone or anything and now when making a call the screen turns off. I tapped the screeen and tilted the phone and it still didnt turn on. I am unable to put call on speakerphone or select any other options.
Love my RAZR Maxx however something I've noticed (I've had Moto Droid/Droid2 and HTC Incredible) is that when scrolling (like email or web pages) my finger must barely touch the home button (or the back/menu/search buttons) and my scrolling gets interrupted by the button function. It seems much more sensitive than any of my other phones.Anyone else have this issue or am I the only klutz? Maybe there is a setting to change sensitivity but can't find it.
A couple weeks ago I put a needle (needle and thread) on my phone screen for like 2 seconds, the needle rolled to the side and went between the screen and he side of the phone, as I tried to get it out it went in further and was pushed behind the screen on Saturday I took the phone a part, managed to get the needle out and put the phone back together. Once it was back together I switched it back on and now the call/menu/return and end call buttons are not working. They do click when pressed but they don't actually do anything anymore. So I retook the phone a part just to make sure I didn't snag anything or move anything to which I found I had not.
I got my BB Bold 9900 last month so I'm still trying to get used to all the features. A little while ago I noticed something and I've yet to figure out the source of the problem. It's a little difficult to explain but I'll give it my best shot:I've always had the backlighting on 100 - the brightest setting, and it looked great. After having played around with it, suddenly, it's nowhere near the brightness that it used to be despite being on the highest setting.Does this make any sense? It used to be really bright and easy to read, but now even on the highest setting it's quite dark. Hopefully there's a solution to this and it's not just me. I've searched through all the settings and can't figure out why it's not as bright as it used to be.
In other phone cameras you just tapped the screen where you wanted it to focus and the camera would expose properly for that subject. This is particularly important if the subject is backlit. Not so the camera in the S5 it seems. It will focus on the desired object with a simple tap but the overall exposure is still for the overall frame leaving the intended subject terribly underexposed.
Contrary to the posts I've seen (buttons do not turn ON), my issue is the inverse (buttons do not turn OFF). My HTC One's Home and Back buttons are always lit, even if I turn off the device.
Is this a hardware or a software problem? Could there be something I can install to fix it, i.e. like a missing driver?
This is a brand new phone, and out the box, the capacitive buttons are off. When I turned it on, the lights were behaving fine and after using it for quite a few hours, I decided to reset the phone again since I wanted to set it up from scratch.
My baby dropped my Lumia 1520 and now the speaker is dead (no ring and music at all) also the home and back buttons are always dark (no light at all but they work fine).
Am about to trade in my M7 for the M8 and have heard that some find the vanishing row of buttons, annoying/frustrating to use as you have to "call it up" every time you need it, which is essentially an extra step.
The backlighting of my keyboard has completely stopped, along with the notification light. Noticed it a few days ago.I've checked the notification settings and nothing has been changed, but the light no longer works/indicates for any functions. The loss of backlighting for the keyboard is the issue that I find the most concerning. Other than these two issues, I really couldn't be more pleased with my N900 and the Maemo experience.
Recently my Bold 9900's back button started going to this menu to toggle applications instead of just closing any open menus or returning to the previous application. Is there any way to make it work like it used to? Checked the options, it's not anywhere I can see.
When I searched around for iPhone cases, I couldn't find any that covered the buttons and the back of the phone. I also could not find any screen protectors. The only case was the Zagg stick-on case, and I don't really want that little shock protection. Does anyone know if there will be more cases by the 24th, when my iPhone is due?
I mean with Xperia X10 and I know that there has to be an update! At least when I connect the phone to the laptop, that's what my PC Companion is telling me. But I can't go past the plug the cable and hold the back button. I tried both the companion and the update service but I can't go past the plug in and press back buttons. If I hold it for a longer period of time, the phone just turns back on.
i took the battery out and when i put it back in and allowed it to reboot none of the buttons work, i cannot scroll or click on anything and none of the other buttons work either. I have tried different variations of this many times, i have taken the battery out for a little while and then put it back, i have taken the battery out and replaced it and then left the phone to reboot and i have taken the battery out and plugged the phone in and the when the no battery message comes up put the battery in and nothing will work.
My menu button loads my 'phone' and not the menu for the phone. I cannot access the menu that includes: hide, move, open tray etc. I cleaned up the phone and uploaded the newest software via the BB desktop application software. I ended up cleaning it up so well it seemed to go back to factory settings as I lost all my apps. It seemed to solve the problem though and I got my menu button to work properly again. I have since uploaded App World and a new theme. The button still worked properly for 24 hours. Today, I turn it on and all is working well but the menu button loads my phone again. Do you understand that the menu does not load, but rather the 'phone' menu pops up as though I'd pressed the phone icon. I wonder if the 'flex ribbon cable' underneath the buttons is misaligned somehow and when I press the menu key, it is loading the green telephone key menu because of malfunction of the ribbon.
