Recently my Bold 9900's back button started going to this menu to toggle applications instead of just closing any open menus or returning to the previous application. Is there any way to make it work like it used to? Checked the options, it's not anywhere I can see.
View 4 RepliesI have upgraded from a Curve to a Torch 9850. I have had the new phone for nearly 3 weeks and noticed that occasionally the back button and menu button would not work. In the beginning it was once or twice a day but this weekend it has been an all day event. The phone is fairly useless like this. It occurs with all applications as well as text and BB messenger.

I don't know if it is something new because I came from an old 8330. I used to hit menu and if I hit menu again the menu would go away.

I tried reinstalling the app and even did a factory reset, but still the same!
Also, is there a way to disable the floating menu button and instead longpress on recent programs button to bring up the menu?

I got my Blackberry Bold 9700 from AT&T about a month and a half ago, and recently I've been having problems opening texts. It'll say I have a new text and I'll go in my inbox to open it but when I click, it won't let me read it. It'll let me open the ones before it, but not the unread one. Even if I click the the menu button then "open" it still doesn't work.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got my BB bold 9930 yesterday, and when I open amail, cannot return back to the inbox. The return button open an overlay like the Swicth app button. I have to press the BB key and scroll down to close before I can get out of anything I open. If there is no close option, then I have to shut down but removing the battery to get rid of it and have the return key working for a while.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy menu button loads my 'phone' and not the menu for the phone. I cannot access the menu that includes: hide, move, open tray etc. I cleaned up the phone and uploaded the newest software via the BB desktop application software. I ended up cleaning it up so well it seemed to go back to factory settings as I lost all my apps. It seemed to solve the problem though and I got my menu button to work properly again. I have since uploaded App World and a new theme. The button still worked properly for 24 hours. Today, I turn it on and all is working well but the menu button loads my phone again. Do you understand that the menu does not load, but rather the 'phone' menu pops up as though I'd pressed the phone icon. I wonder if the 'flex ribbon cable' underneath the buttons is misaligned somehow and when I press the menu key, it is loading the green telephone key menu because of malfunction of the ribbon.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.
Most of the time, menu button deosn't react at all, no matter hom many times I press it, in home screen mode, and it takes more then 10 seconds to press and hold for multitask menu to appear.

Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long). Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...

I fell in love with my 8310 when I first got it about 2 years ago. It has everything I could need. I am not a internet person but it has the memo pad for my fireman stuff, the right size buttons for texting since I have pretty large hands, and I liked the applications I had. Well my phone has taken the falls and the other day it fell face first into a rain puddle. I grabbed it up fast. The cell has dried and it still works except for the trackball and the menu button. Basically the 2 most important buttons. I took it to the store and the phones strip was still white and never turned red. They told me I am do for a upgrade. I love the 8310, its been great to me. So the question: is there a fix of the keypad I can just get off ebay or the other options were 2 cells I found. Not wanting to do the whole data plan deal and not all stoked about a 3g. The guy was trying to press the torch on me and I told him no thanks.
The cells that interest me are.
1) The 8520. I like this one cause it seems like its not far from what I had maybe a few new bells and whistles. I see it has wifi.
2) HTC Tilt 2
Out of nowhere,my BB menu button has become very sensitive.I have lowered the key rate to slow and there are still times when I hit the button and it acts like I'm hitting it twice.I am running lyricidal's 464 hybrid if that matters.I tried battery pulls and switching to the 497 hybrid and neither has helped.
