i bought my minipro last nov. last two days the menu button in my phone stopped working. so to unlock my phone i use to slide the phone.but for other options i find it very difficult without the menu button.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new X10 mini pro and I updated to Android 2.1.
Camera worked for a while without problems, but recently I moved the camera icon in one of the corners.
After that, the camera button (after the focusing position, when pressed till the end) just turns the main menu on without taking the picture. However, camera works sometimes without problems (one in five attempts). I reinstalled the software using SEUS, but the problems still persists.
It has suddenly decided to not respond to the back button for no apparent reason. Sometimes it suddenly starts working again after a restart and then works repeatedly untill untill the phone is left idle. Then the next time i pick the phone up it won't work again. The button itself feels no different to normall and has a positive click feel to its operation but i have noticed that when the phone is left on standby it suddenly starts illuminating the main screen repeatedly for no reason and i think the back button may be stopping from working after this happens, however i have not yet had it do this consistently to be sure yet. I have done a master reset, removed battery, software update (hard to do with intermitant back button btw) but all to no avail. All i have managed to achive is losing a load of my contacts actual numbers on SE's crappy sync service (contacts still listed but numbers gone and not in trash?)

If I press the power button, screen lights on for some time and goes off. I can't remove the battery as the battery is fixed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.
The menu button on my N8 annoyingly has started to work intermittently, it either works for a while then stops working for a while.

Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long). Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...

I fell in love with my 8310 when I first got it about 2 years ago. It has everything I could need. I am not a internet person but it has the memo pad for my fireman stuff, the right size buttons for texting since I have pretty large hands, and I liked the applications I had. Well my phone has taken the falls and the other day it fell face first into a rain puddle. I grabbed it up fast. The cell has dried and it still works except for the trackball and the menu button. Basically the 2 most important buttons. I took it to the store and the phones strip was still white and never turned red. They told me I am do for a upgrade. I love the 8310, its been great to me. So the question: is there a fix of the keypad I can just get off ebay or the other options were 2 cells I found. Not wanting to do the whole data plan deal and not all stoked about a 3g. The guy was trying to press the torch on me and I told him no thanks.
The cells that interest me are.
1) The 8520. I like this one cause it seems like its not far from what I had maybe a few new bells and whistles. I see it has wifi.
2) HTC Tilt 2
i have a new nokia x3, around 2 months old, after restarting the phone one time, the main button (the menu button) works for locking/unlocking and even makes the keytone sound when you press it, but i cant open up the menu, its really annoying because without the menu i cannot access the phone! i can still make calls/text messages, but i really want to fix this.

I don't know if it is something new because I came from an old 8330. I used to hit menu and if I hit menu again the menu would go away.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to disable notifications from the calendar app - but the context menu is missing - nothing happens when I pust the menu button. A second symptom is that when the notifications appear, there are no buttons to snooze or dismiss.
The background is taht I have upgraded to android 2.1 and installed a few different calendar apps to get a better widget. I ended up with Gemini and uninstalled the other apps and widgets again. Which ones I tried and when the problem appeared I do not know. So if the problem was present after the upgrade or later...?
when i go to settings>applications>manage applications, i see lots of applications in the list that are not in the menu like application installer service and voice dialer.ok, so i'll list the applications that are in my menu. album, camera, alarm, calendar, settings, calculator, timer, notes, facebook, fm radio, Internet, playnow, video, google talk, browser, gmail, trackid, e-mail, stopwatch, timescape, user guide, neoreader, backup and restore, user support, sync, 2 roadsync's, maps, sim toolkit and some default games.so, these are the applications in my menu. please tell me if something's wrong with my phone.

But after I upgraded to version 4.0 I bought the license. There is only a small problem now, there is no menu now to select "My Maps" and download. The Notification menu which comes down from the top keeps coming down all the time. When I am texting, viewing pictures, browsing my phonebook etc., and it stops me from using the phone how I want to use the phone. no matter where i touch on the screen it pops up. I have done the following with no avail:
I have upgraded the firmware. (this problem happened before and still continues after upgrade)I have turned the phone on and off countless times.I have locked the phone and unlocked it numerous times hoping it will go away...it doesn't. The phone has not been dropped or damaged in anyway - it is only 2 months old.
Whenever I select "Options" from the BB Menu button's drop down list on my Torch 9800, the screen flashes, then goes back to my home screen. It has been this way for quite a while (nearly a year) and I am thinking that there is a permission that was inadverdently disabled. It does not work whether i use the native BB6 theme or others i have downloaded. how to make "Options" option start working again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago I put a needle (needle and thread) on my phone screen for like 2 seconds, the needle rolled to the side and went between the screen and he side of the phone, as I tried to get it out it went in further and was pushed behind the screen on Saturday I took the phone a part, managed to get the needle out and put the phone back together. Once it was back together I switched it back on and now the call/menu/return and end call buttons are not working. They do click when pressed but they don't actually do anything anymore. So I retook the phone a part just to make sure I didn't snag anything or move anything to which I found I had not.

I want to disable it because I often use apps, and accidentally touch these keys, it's becoming really annoying. The sms text dial pad appears in all the menu pages if the menu button (given at the bottom right corner of the phone) gets pressed a little longer. This happens during incoming call also and the dial pad wont disappear even if the back button or any other button gets pressed. Till this pad disappears, I am not able to pick an incoming call.

With the first store, I had it replaced TWICE on that SAME DAY because of the issue of it, XPERIA ST15i, activating its home and back keys by itself. For the third replacement because of the same issue, it ended with a refund. So I went to another store to buy another one, and luckily, that malfunction doesn't manifest anymore. Now, after about 2 weeks, that malfunction started to have its episodes again. The menu and back keys are now activating themselves whenever I'm using an app, or just the browser.

In the beginning it was once or twice a day but this weekend it has been an all day event. The phone is fairly useless like this. It occurs with all applications as well as text and BB messenger.
