HTC Legend :: Menu Button Not Working?
Jul 18, 2010The Menu button does exactly what the Home button does. How can I fix this? It's so irritating because I cant finish setting up my new phone!

Jan 30, 2012I'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.

Mar 19, 2012I have a "brand new" 701 with 111.020.0307 that won't update to 111.030.0609 because I'm in Italy .
Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long). Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...
I bought my phone ONE WEEK ago... I really wouldn't like to format/reinstall already!

Sep 8, 2010I fell in love with my 8310 when I first got it about 2 years ago. It has everything I could need. I am not a internet person but it has the memo pad for my fireman stuff, the right size buttons for texting since I have pretty large hands, and I liked the applications I had. Well my phone has taken the falls and the other day it fell face first into a rain puddle. I grabbed it up fast. The cell has dried and it still works except for the trackball and the menu button. Basically the 2 most important buttons. I took it to the store and the phones strip was still white and never turned red. They told me I am do for a upgrade. I love the 8310, its been great to me. So the question: is there a fix of the keypad I can just get off ebay or the other options were 2 cells I found. Not wanting to do the whole data plan deal and not all stoked about a 3g. The guy was trying to press the torch on me and I told him no thanks.
The cells that interest me are.
1) The 8520. I like this one cause it seems like its not far from what I had maybe a few new bells and whistles. I see it has wifi.

Apr 11, 2010i have a new nokia x3, around 2 months old, after restarting the phone one time, the main button (the menu button) works for locking/unlocking and even makes the keytone sound when you press it, but i cant open up the menu, its really annoying because without the menu i cannot access the phone! i can still make calls/text messages, but i really want to fix this.

Jul 2, 2010I have an unlocked Bell htc legend using with FIDO, and while wifi does work , no matter what i do to enable data connection for 3g or even enabling GPS no icon ever shows up. Ive done a factory reset twice. APN settings were the same i used on iphone. Just transferred the sim card. Took sim to another phone to make sure it wasnt the sim and 3g works.This appears to be the phone doing this but would like suggestions/insight.

May 28, 2012A couple weeks ago I put a needle (needle and thread) on my phone screen for like 2 seconds, the needle rolled to the side and went between the screen and he side of the phone, as I tried to get it out it went in further and was pushed behind the screen on Saturday I took the phone a part, managed to get the needle out and put the phone back together. Once it was back together I switched it back on and now the call/menu/return and end call buttons are not working. They do click when pressed but they don't actually do anything anymore. So I retook the phone a part just to make sure I didn't snag anything or move anything to which I found I had not.

Feb 18, 2011My problem is with Wifi connection to my Siemens Router. The phone detects my network and shows three bar signal strength. I then select the network, type in the password, select connect.....and nothing. It shows the network as remembered, but everytime I try to connect nothing happens and the Wifi 'tick box' always shows disconnected.It did connect to a BTopen Network. Which leads me to believe it is my router. The wireless is obviously on and working if the phone detects it. So, as a newbie to wireless, I assume all you need to connect the phone is the SSID name, and the WPA key (which, I believe is the password).

Dec 22, 2010Upgraded to 2.2 using my home wifi. All seemed Ok and the phone rebooted.
I get as far as the opening screen showing the time and date but none of the four buttons along the bottom of the screen do anything. The only button working is the on/off button.
Tried a factory reset using the volume down and power button. Phone rebooted but I am still stuck with buttons that don't respond and I cannot do anything.
BB Torch :: Menu Button Loads 'phone' And Not The Menu For The Phone?
Jul 2, 2012My menu button loads my 'phone' and not the menu for the phone. I cannot access the menu that includes: hide, move, open tray etc. I cleaned up the phone and uploaded the newest software via the BB desktop application software. I ended up cleaning it up so well it seemed to go back to factory settings as I lost all my apps. It seemed to solve the problem though and I got my menu button to work properly again. I have since uploaded App World and a new theme. The button still worked properly for 24 hours. Today, I turn it on and all is working well but the menu button loads my phone again. Do you understand that the menu does not load, but rather the 'phone' menu pops up as though I'd pressed the phone icon. I wonder if the 'flex ribbon cable' underneath the buttons is misaligned somehow and when I press the menu key, it is loading the green telephone key menu because of malfunction of the ribbon.

Dec 6, 2015So I noticed that some apps utilize a floating menu button (I think that's because the s6 doesn't have a dedicated menu button?) that appears like a circle with 3 dots on the screen wich you can move around.
However it appears to somehow be broken, as when I tap the button a menu appears for a fraction of a second and then disappears again, not giving enough time to do anything and of course rendering such an app useless.
