I have upgraded from a Curve to a Torch 9850. I have had the new phone for nearly 3 weeks and noticed that occasionally the back button and menu button would not work. In the beginning it was once or twice a day but this weekend it has been an all day event. The phone is fairly useless like this. It occurs with all applications as well as text and BB messenger.

Sometimes I feel like its maybe due to the fact I have another finger on screen, but then even when I remove the finger it may not work. After a few taps it comes back to life. Is it a known issue with Lumia/WP8 devices? I did a Google search but that turned up nothing!
View 6 Replies View Relatedtoday i just upgrade my xperia mini pro SK17i to build number 4.0.2.A.0.58, after this update, my back and menu button begin to be unresponsive or lagged significantly, the backlight of these two button also not turn on.the responsiveness of home button is not affected at all, so I'm not sure what is the source of the problem here.for example, let me demonstrate here:
1. unlock my phone - by slide to right > press the corner shortcut - animation is smooth > press the mail icon - open mail and I can imediately scroll down with no lag > press back button...wait up to 3 second and then it go back to home screen or worse it not registered anything, is it like I didnt press the back button
2. unlock my phone - by slide to right > press the corner shortcut - animation is smooth > press the mail icon - open mail and I can imediately scroll down with no lag > press home button - animated smoothly and goes back to home screen
what can make something like this happen? if this is software related action 1 and action 2 should be the same right? this is like some software component after update didn't detect the capacitive button correctly or something.there is option to repair this phone but it mean that I will loose all things in main memory, I will use this option as the last resort, but for now I would like to hear other opinion about this.other annoying stuff after this update:
- the APN setting was deleted so I must enter it again
- before update there is mcafee viruscan and mcafee wavesecure, after update it change into mcafee viruscan and mcafee security, and the mcafee security is not compatible with viruscan!! so I must delete viruscan, not that im using it tho, but still.
- there is some carrier spesific app that can be deleted but after boot restart showed up again
Recently my Bold 9900's back button started going to this menu to toggle applications instead of just closing any open menus or returning to the previous application. Is there any way to make it work like it used to? Checked the options, it's not anywhere I can see.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter the last Ota update, I am unable to bring up the menu on Droidfish.. When I tap the floating menu button it pops up and goes back down again.
I tried reinstalling the app and even did a factory reset, but still the same!
Also, is there a way to disable the floating menu button and instead longpress on recent programs button to bring up the menu?
A couple of weeks ago the light on the back and end call button went out. It came back about a day later. Those same two buttons went out this morning and now the menu button will not work correctly. When I hit it, it types "jk" into the search menu.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the menu/BlackBerry button (whatever it's called) The button seems to be stuck. So when I push it the menu will come up but it will automatically do what is highlighted, which is often close or open the tray if on the home screen. If I lock the phone it will darken but then lighten up as if I have pressed the button, but I haven't. It will say screen locked but will continously darken and lighten back up.
I was having this issue a little while ago and even took my phone apart to clean as I thought that was the issue but it did not help. Then I needed to charge it, which I normally do by plug in, but this time I used usb to computer. There seemed to be a substantial update for my phone which once completed fixed the issue with the button. Which was a huge relief as I was thinking I would have to pay somebody to fix and I don't want to do that. It is very pricey.
Well today it started back up. I connected it to the computer but it said there were no updates and did not fix the button problem. And yes I have tried battery pull.
Is there any shortcut to accessing the menu besides pressing the button? It seems like mine may be getting worn out. Sometimes I need to press it more than once.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy menu button loads my 'phone' and not the menu for the phone. I cannot access the menu that includes: hide, move, open tray etc. I cleaned up the phone and uploaded the newest software via the BB desktop application software. I ended up cleaning it up so well it seemed to go back to factory settings as I lost all my apps. It seemed to solve the problem though and I got my menu button to work properly again. I have since uploaded App World and a new theme. The button still worked properly for 24 hours. Today, I turn it on and all is working well but the menu button loads my phone again. Do you understand that the menu does not load, but rather the 'phone' menu pops up as though I'd pressed the phone icon. I wonder if the 'flex ribbon cable' underneath the buttons is misaligned somehow and when I press the menu key, it is loading the green telephone key menu because of malfunction of the ribbon.

I've tried numerous battery pulls, reinstalled the OS, repaired the OS, changed my backlight settings. Security wipe and re install. I don't know what caused it. I have an htc one max and my power button is broken, it has 0 response or feedback the last few days. at first it was stuck with the power down options continuously popping up, but not its just completely unresponsive, the button itself isnt broken or pushed in but their is just no feedback at all, i had to even get an app so i can unlock and lock my device. and my phone died and i had it on the charger for a few hours and nothing still a black screen..dead. so i connect it to my computer and it just keeps connecting and disconnecting before it can even install the software to recognize it.

I locked it and put it on my bedside table, when I went back to it I found that my sleep button was very hard to press. I figured it might be temporary and have waited until now. It is now completely unresponsive and I can no longer press it at all. Both of the water damage indicators are white from what I can see and the actual device has very minimal damage from regular use.

The sleep button on my iphone 4s is stuck / unresponsive. it also has a small scratch on the top, that couldnt have caused the damage.. i have never dropped my phone, so id like to know if apple will replace my phone even with the small scratch..

For a while now my home button has been sporadically unresponsive - I'd press it a couple times and then it'd work. This morning however, it won't respond at all, which means once I enter an application I can't exit it at all. I can't reboot it by pressing the Home/Wake buttons together either, since obviously the home button isn't working, and I'd rather not restart it every time I want to do something.
I think this is more a hardware problem than anything else and means I might need to get my phone replaced, but it's out of its 1 year warranty period. I kept dropping it, even with a case on.

I have a BB Curve 9360 and recently the middle cursor button on it has not been working as smoothly as it once was. It takes several presses in for it to work, and I will often have to press it in quite hard. I am unsure of why this has happened, because I have not dropped the phone or let water or other substances into it. It could perhaps be dirt? I have tried several battery pulls.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is a lag when trying to wake the phone up. I will press the power button and it will take almost 4 seconds for the phone to wake up. This doesn't happen often, but often enough that I have to do a soft reset several times to correct the problem. Even then, it's still not 100% responsive. I'm on the latest DP and still having this issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4 dropped in the water. I tried to switch off it but sensor and home button momentally stopped working. There was no any tools to open back side and take out the battery. So it was switched on about 5 hours. After 5 hours I totally disassembled and dried all parts. It starts working but... Now battery does not working. I changed the old battery but nothing changed. When it plugged in to the computer via USB cable (without battery) It tries to switch on but rebooting every 10 second. But with battery, it tries to switch on and sometimes it loads everything and there is all my application and data but it reboots momentally. So there is little difference when it switching on with battery and without battery. Other parts working properly.
