I've had my Torch for about four days now and I love it, but tonight, all of a sudden, the buttons on the slider face (phone, menu, trackpad, back, end/power) aren't lighting up anymore. is it something I did that's totally fixable?
I have a BB Torch, and my trackpad was giving issues, so gave it for repair to the service center.Ever since its come back, the trackpad is fine, but the 4 buttons (Answer, Menu, Back, End call) lights are just not going off.
The top part of the phone which is covered by the slider has 4 buttons (for pic viewing, music and games).I found it very convenient to play games with it. However, only the 2 middle buttons are available for n gage games. The top and bottom one are not, and it's a shame cause they could be very useful in some games. Why?? and can this be changed somehow so that all 4 buttons will be operatable in games?
Since around 2 weeks I have a Torch 9860. Yesterday evening, when I was not using the device the Torch suddenly stopped functioning. When I turned it on again it said it was setting up but it didn't do anything. So after a few minutes I turned it off and on again but now it didn't react at all (so screen stays black, no button lightens up etc.). I can't get it turned on again, not even when I removed the battery for a few minutes. I also tried to charge it again as I wanted to be sure the battery was charged but this doesn't work either.
I've just purchased a BB Torch and would like to get the slider to turn the phone on and off as a traditional slide phone would. Is this possible and how do I do it?
My torch 9800 slider is not working properly. Whenever I go to unlike my phone the screen does not get displayed. Another thing is that my blackberry was girt so I don't have a bill so how do I get my warranty?
I have a torch 9800 running 6.0 software and all of sudden when i open the slider to use the physical keyboard the screen gets strange colors and writing and app icons turn backwards. But using the virtual keyboard and keep the slider down i have no problems.
The trackpad on my 9800 works fine when the slider is closed but stops working when the slider is open to reveal the keyboard. With the slider open or closed, the touch screen still works and the buttons and keys still operate properly.
I have done a complete device security wipe and re-install from scratch. The problem persists. I have OS 6.0 bundle 2949 (v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236)
Whether it is a software or hardware problem, where is the diagnostic code or message to tell me?
I have had my Torch for 2 years so it is long out of warranty. I have had 4 RIM devices since 2004 and I used to be a big RIM fan but my allegiance is waning fast.
What were you guys doing in Waterloo whilst Samsung and Apple were creating prodcuts that functioned properly and support services that worked?
I don't know if I post this in the right section. I just wanted to let others know that I've found a way to disable the light from capacitive buttons even if the phone is not in Power Saving Mode, and ofc without any third party software. You dial *#0*# and you go to the bottom and press "Black". Now, if you hold the power button you can chose to restart the phone and the backlight will stay off. If you press volume up key after you pressed "Black" it will just exit.At first I was thinking I broke my phone. Then I realise how it works.
Are the buttons down the bottom of the Motorola defy meant to light up? Because mine don't.
Ive been in settings and looked everywhere to see if there is an option to turn it on and off but I can't see anything. It is really annoying as I can't see the buttons at all when is dark.
When I close slider, the virtual key board do not appear, rotation function also. I use a magnet torch in the back of cellfone, virtual keyboard appear and use normally, but when open slider and close, it back to old trouble.
I am using Torch 9800. Currently, the virtual keyboard doesn't appear when slider is closed. The indicator is also grey (not active). In the menu, "show keyboard" item is not listed. When I take the headset in landscape position, the screen is still in Portrait mode.
My brand new Lumia 900 has light bleeding onto the screen from the capacitive button's backlight. There is also light coming out on the leftside between the glass and the polycarbonate.
I just noticed this, the only thing ive done recently is clear the cache and do the play store updates. It may have started a couple days ago but i just noticed it..
The hard press buttons (menu, home, back, search fail to light up sometimes. Even when I cover the sensor, it does not turn on. I cannot find a setting to turn it off or on. Even at night, it rarely lights up.
I just got my new Captivate and it is a very nice phone. I have one issue with it and wanted to know if it is normal or do I have a defective phone. No matter where i am and what type of light I am in (i.e sunlight, darkness etc) the back light for the 4 buttons below the screen (Home, Menu,Search and back) turns off after about 2-3 seconds which is very quickly. It comes back on if I touch the buttons or if I touch the screen. I see a backlight timer for the screen but not for the touch sensitive buttons. Is it normal that the backlight for the buttons goes out in 2-3 seconds? Of do I have a defect?
While in landscape mode (I first noticed this while watching Netflix). In the corner near the search capacitive button I noticed the lighting for the capacitive button seeps out a little, like a very small amount. It doesn't overwhelm the screen or anything. When holding my phone upright and looking down towards the capacitive buttons, I do notice some light coming out from the left and right corners. if this is because of the design and is normal? Or is it a flaw in the phone?!
Torch 9860. Used it for 3 days.. My torch can't switch on, because when I put in battery red light on the top is always on and don't turn off. So reboot don't start and not possible to reinstall OS.How to make the red light turn off and let torch reboot?
I recently got the Torch two weeks ago from Rogers and generally I don't have any problems with. But I've found that sometimes after I receive a call from someone and I've ended the call (by sliding the phone down), all my buttons stop working. The Keyboard, lock button, call, end, etc. No button works. But however, the touch screen works. I usually end up using the touch screen to turn off my phone and pull out my battery and put it back in.From there it works again. Its happened four times now. Has this happened to anyone else?
My blackberry is like its screen is just off. My buttons work, they're lighting up and i can click everything, lock my phone, and everything. But the screen is always black.
My blackberry torch was recently giving me a hard time using a few of the letter keys, I decided to let it sit overnight, this morning it's even worse I can't use the centre key to scroll or click on anything and non of my other keys work. I've only had this blackberry for about a month. Nothing that I do seems to work to reset it
The touch screen works, but none of the buttons work. I have restarted, I have removed the battery numerous times, but nothing. It was working this morning. No water damage, no drop damage, just stopped working. I am limited in what I can do and almost every time I want to close an application, i need to remove the battery because there is no way to close. It's very frustrating. I can still take and make calls but have difficulty even hanging up after a call!I took it to ATT and it is no longer under warranty. I may just take it in to a repair place
This is the second torch I've gotten with button problems. I've been a customer of blackberry and Telus for the past ten years.Blackberry, or Telus doesn't seem to give a care about the substandard quality of their product or their customers.I had a Storm and traded it in due to the buttons simply not working. Bought a Torch and six months later the buttons failed. Sent it in for warrantee and Telus blamed me for a problem I didn't even have to avoid the warantee until I complained so much they reoplaced it a few months back. Now this piece of **bleep** is giving me the same heartache.Called for support and they said to send it in for warrantee work. I'm a realtor and can't anmswer my phone half the time. I can't use the back button or the menu buttons. I get charged every time I send the phone back for an evaluation even though it's not my problem and its under warrantee.
