View 9 RepliesI don't know if I post this in the right section. I just wanted to let others know that I've found a way to disable the light from capacitive buttons even if the phone is not in Power Saving Mode, and ofc without any third party software. You dial *#0*# and you go to the bottom and press "Black". Now, if you hold the power button you can chose to restart the phone and the backlight will stay off. If you press volume up key after you pressed "Black" it will just exit.At first I was thinking I broke my phone. Then I realise how it works.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy brand new Lumia 900 has light bleeding onto the screen from the capacitive button's backlight. There is also light coming out on the leftside between the glass and the polycarbonate.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhile in landscape mode (I first noticed this while watching Netflix). In the corner near the search capacitive button I noticed the lighting for the capacitive button seeps out a little, like a very small amount. It doesn't overwhelm the screen or anything. When holding my phone upright and looking down towards the capacitive buttons, I do notice some light coming out from the left and right corners. if this is because of the design and is normal? Or is it a flaw in the phone?!
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe capacitive buttons are garbage in my opinion and I constantly accidentally hit them. Not to mention they are backwards. I would like to disable them completely and enable the soft buttons like on the Nexus 5. Is this possible?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know some have mentioned they don't turn on unless it's really really dark. But for some reason mine won't turn off. Even when it's in sunlight.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, my capacitive buttons next to the home button aren't lighting up. Did Samsung do away with this? Since I'm used to the way they work, I know where to push the button to go back or to open recently opened apps but I'd like to have them lit if I could.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought new lcd..because my old one cracked. The process of change run smooth.. But when i turn on phone my capacitive buttons doesn't react. The lighs turn on when phone Boots and shutdown.
So my questions are:
-can be lcd defective?
-only thing that communicate is lcd flat cable connect to mainboard?
-buttons zone are controlled by digitizer right? Or are related with power board where buttons are?
I have the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S6
A few different times now the capacitive buttons stopped working. They don't light up, they don't work, and there is no haptic feedback from them. It always happens after a restart, but not the first restart.
I have tried factory reset and that didn't work. I had to flash my phone using Verizon's repair assistant to fix the problem.
The second time it happened I thought it was due to installing that Galaxy Lights app everyone is talking about. I booted into safe mode, uninstalled the app and restarted. Once I did it worked for a few more days before it happened again.
A few minutes ago it happened again. This time I haven't installed that app or any other apps that would affect the buttons. I am rooted with Ping Pong but I haven't done anything other than remove a few bloatware items and use Titanium Backup.
where the capacitive button LEDs seem to randomly turn on/off, or don't turn on in the dark, or seem to flicker for no apparent reason? We had the same issue with our 1020. It appears to be directly related to battery saver mode in settings. When we turn battery saver off, the LEDs seem to work perfectly. When battery saver is on, we experience all the above strange issues. We also have a 920, and battery saver mode does not affect the LEDs on the 920 at all, hence why we're hesitant to say with100% authority that this is the issue with the 1020.
View 10 Replies View RelatedRecently the back, and start buttons on my 1520 have not been turning on, or flickering. The search button has not shown any signs of the issue. The buttons still work, and have no functionality issues.
It started randomly, and I notice if I press on certain parts of the phone, the lights may go on or off. They may also go on or off of their own accord.
I had dropped my phone a few days prior, but there was no visible damage, and the issue was delayed.
I'm assuming this is a hardware issue and I would need to replace it in order to fix it, but are there other possibilities?
how to manage when capacitive buttons (settings, home, back, search) lights on, because, when I use my Moto in night, I need to guess where is Home and Back buttons.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFrom day one the D3, i received on july 8th after placing a phone order, seemed to have really dim button backlight. Well after a couple weeks i went into a VZW store to purchase an extended battery and noticed that the D3 they have out on display has very bright buttons. I've been very busy at work so i finally got around to seeking some tech support and thy are sending me a CLNR to replace mine. I wished i had sought out tech support a couple weeks ago so i would be getting a new phone and not one someone else returned.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Torch, and my trackpad was giving issues, so gave it for repair to the service center.Ever since its come back, the trackpad is fine, but the 4 buttons (Answer, Menu, Back, End call) lights are just not going off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Torch for about four days now and I love it, but tonight, all of a sudden, the buttons on the slider face (phone, menu, trackpad, back, end/power) aren't lighting up anymore. is it something I did that's totally fixable?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAre the buttons down the bottom of the Motorola defy meant to light up? Because mine don't.
Ive been in settings and looked everywhere to see if there is an option to turn it on and off but I can't see anything. It is really annoying as I can't see the buttons at all when is dark.
I was just wondering if there's a way to disable these capacitive keys on the bottom? I want to disable it because I often use apps, and accidentally touch these keys, it's becoming really annoying. This is true especially when I'm using the camcorder app, and my right hand touches one of the keys and it exits. Or is there another camera/camcorder app that disables the keys?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this, the only thing ive done recently is clear the cache and do the play store updates. It may have started a couple days ago but i just noticed it..
Haven't done anything that should affect it...
Has this happened to anyone else?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe hard press buttons (menu, home, back, search fail to light up sometimes. Even when I cover the sensor, it does not turn on. I cannot find a setting to turn it off or on. Even at night, it rarely lights up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince around 2 weeks I have a Torch 9860. Yesterday evening, when I was not using the device the Torch suddenly stopped functioning. When I turned it on again it said it was setting up but it didn't do anything. So after a few minutes I turned it off and on again but now it didn't react at all (so screen stays black, no button lightens up etc.). I can't get it turned on again, not even when I removed the battery for a few minutes. I also tried to charge it again as I wanted to be sure the battery was charged but this doesn't work either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Captivate and it is a very nice phone. I have one issue with it and wanted to know if it is normal or do I have a defective phone. No matter where i am and what type of light I am in (i.e sunlight, darkness etc) the back light for the 4 buttons below the screen (Home, Menu,Search and back) turns off after about 2-3 seconds which is very quickly. It comes back on if I touch the buttons or if I touch the screen. I see a backlight timer for the screen but not for the touch sensitive buttons. Is it normal that the backlight for the buttons goes out in 2-3 seconds? Of do I have a defect?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm finding it really annoying that sometimes when typing part of my palm hits the corner of the phone which brings up the multi task window. Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the keys?
It would of been good if they only work when hitting the centre of them and not the edge of the phone.
To use it one must press the power button, operation that almost all the time requires the use of both hands, and then swipe ur finger to unlock the screen. And u have to do it tens or maybe hundreds of times daily.Or having the phone in a car holder;that holder needs to be awful sturdy so u can just press with one finger the pwr but I couldn't pull it off. I need to grab the phone with my big finger and then using the index finger tri to find the little pwr button.I have to admit that I'm a big fan of physical buttons(I still weep after my Nokia 9300i) but also the solution provided by Galaxy S II with its physical home button sounds ok to me.I think that giving the user an option to keep or not the home button active would be a nice feature on the RAZR.
View 12 Replies View Relatednow the chrome paint of the button has started to come out it gives a rusty look to the phone
even the volume up nd volume down key the paint has come off the back button, home button,nd menu button also the paint has come off
i always keep the phone in the cover. the buttons r not made of iron so how it is rusting
recently the bottom buttons (ie. menu, back, etc) arent working as well as the side ones. I can only use the screen. Upon turning on the phone the buttons will work for a maximum 2 minutes and then I have to rely on the screen...
anyone else have this problem? I tried repairing and reinstalling everything but it didnt work... Ive also read that it could be from holding the camera button down but that is not the case
When writing SMS...want to add pic. There seems to be no way to swipe keyboard away from top of the buttons, laying underneath it??
