I have a torch 9800 running 6.0 software and all of sudden when i open the slider to use the physical keyboard the screen gets strange colors and writing and app icons turn backwards. But using the virtual keyboard and keep the slider down i have no problems.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe trackpad on my 9800 works fine when the slider is closed but stops working when the slider is open to reveal the keyboard. With the slider open or closed, the touch screen still works and the buttons and keys still operate properly.
I have done a complete device security wipe and re-install from scratch. The problem persists. I have OS 6.0 bundle 2949 (v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236)
Whether it is a software or hardware problem, where is the diagnostic code or message to tell me?
I have had my Torch for 2 years so it is long out of warranty. I have had 4 RIM devices since 2004 and I used to be a big RIM fan but my allegiance is waning fast.
What were you guys doing in Waterloo whilst Samsung and Apple were creating prodcuts that functioned properly and support services that worked?
When I close slider, the virtual key board do not appear, rotation function also. I use a magnet torch in the back of cellfone, virtual keyboard appear and use normally, but when open slider and close, it back to old trouble.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry torch 9800 was working perfectly fine untill for some unknown reason the screen went completely pixelated, from then on it appears to be normal until you slide open the phone to use the qwerty keypad, therefore i can only use the phone when it is slided shut and have to rely on the touch screen. the only way to get the screen back to normal is to slide it shut and repeatedly press the lock button until it restores itsself and on multiple occassions i have had to remove the battery for the phone to go back to normal.
does anyone know if this is a software problem? or a maufacture problem? or has it been damaged? and is there anyway to fix it..
When the slide is closed the screen turns on just fine, but when I slide it up the screen turns off. Also, possibly unrelated, it seems that the touch screen just stopped working as well whether or not the slide is open. The phone also will not connect to BB Desktop. I've had my torch for just over a year and I don't believe I have a warranty for it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter recent OS upgrade to current OS v6.0.0.600 my browser email such as hotmail won't spawn links embedded in an email. The link is hot and can be clicked and open but does not do it automatically as it did on former OS versions. Now here is the interesting part. If I turn off phone antennae and go WiFi, it works perfectly. I prefer to read browser email as such and not deliver it to my BB inbox.

I have successfully created my BB Account onto the Carrier Site and added the Email IDs these are reflected onto the device but as I am unable to open Email Accounts under Setup I am unable to Edit or Delete the Email Accounts which I don't won't on this Handle. Every time the Modifications have to be done by going to the Carrier website.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe purchased two 9800 Torch phones and both are having the same issue. Word, Excel, and PDF files all open fine on the devices. However, some emails will be received with attachments but the phone does not give the open or download attachment options. If you forward the message from the device, the attachment will still be attached. The issue is intermittent and I have not been able to pin down any consistently as I have received several emails with attachments successfully. The emails that will not give the attachment options also do not have the little paperclip on the email icon from the messages view. Again, hen this exact email is forwarded the attachment will arrive at the destination.

Both users had no issues on prior devices with multiple attachments opened daily.
i use torch white 9800- i already setup everything like it use too.. But suddenly even i already send servvice books synchronize etc with my device still-Trouble shoot- errorr - i cant open all my. Email inbox except gmail only ..and i couldnt open my text msg. Too.. its wriTten encounter java.lang error null.pointer exception.. It makes my device getting heavy and slowerr.. View 13 Replies View RelatedOn my Blackberry Toch 9800, it seems to freeze up on several occassions, most recently when downloading an application from "App World."After downloading an application from App World, when you run the application for the first time, it will ask you if you want to "share personal information." Whether it is checked or unchecked, the screen just freezes up after clicking "OK."
Is there a fix for this? This is a brand new device and I am already experiencing several screen lock up issues. I have already done a hard / soft reset, as well as a battery pull. I have also uninstalled the application and re-installed it, only to have this issue continue.
My touch screen stopped working only when the Torch is slid open. The track pad still works and can use the menu to navigate but what a pain. This started three days ago. Phone is 17 months old. Is this a setting?

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy BB Torch 9800 screen started short circuiting, splitting in half, and everything going backwards when I slid the phone open. So I started using it with it slid closed and just texting on the screen and it worked great until the other day when the screen would no longer come on, even when it was closed. I know the phone still works because the red light was flashing because I got a message but I couldn't get the screen to come back on because I'm guessing it has short circuited enough that it gave out. So my question is, I got a cheap phone onto my contract now, but I don't have any contacts: how can I get my contacts from my BB where I can't see the screen onto this other phone? View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had a Blackberry Torch 9800 for 12 months and I removed it from my vehicles "Hands Free Kit" and put it in my phone holder on my belt. When I removed the phone from my holder, the screen was black and frozen and none of the button worked, not even the touch screen. The phone works correctly if I open the slide but shuts off when I close the slide again. When the slide is opened I have no on screen typing and have to use the keyboard on the slide. When I put the phone back in my hands free kit, the slide needs to be closed so I cannot answer any calls or use the touch screen.
