BB Torch :: 9800 Different Screen When Slider Is Open?
Mar 29, 2012I have a torch 9800 running 6.0 software and all of sudden when i open the slider to use the physical keyboard the screen gets strange colors and writing and app icons turn backwards. But using the virtual keyboard and keep the slider down i have no problems.

May 13, 2012I cannot get the slider on the touch screen to unlock my iPhone 3G. There are parts of the screen that do not work consistently. I can grab the slider and move it, but right before the phone should unlock the slider disengages and moves back to the left.

BB Torch :: Trackpad Not Working When Slider Is Open
Aug 9, 2012The trackpad on my 9800 works fine when the slider is closed but stops working when the slider is open to reveal the keyboard. With the slider open or closed, the touch screen still works and the buttons and keys still operate properly.
I have done a complete device security wipe and re-install from scratch. The problem persists. I have OS 6.0 bundle 2949 (v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236)
Whether it is a software or hardware problem, where is the diagnostic code or message to tell me?
I have had my Torch for 2 years so it is long out of warranty. I have had 4 RIM devices since 2004 and I used to be a big RIM fan but my allegiance is waning fast.
What were you guys doing in Waterloo whilst Samsung and Apple were creating prodcuts that functioned properly and support services that worked?

Motorola Droid X2 :: Way To Disable Vibration On Unlock Slider
May 22, 2011a couple of issues with Droid X2, that's otherwise an awesome, very fast and responsive phone:
1.My new Droid X2 takes 2-3 seconds to turn on the screen after the power button is pressed to take it out of sleep mode, is there a way Motorola can address this issue since it did not exist in Droid X1.
2.I wish there was a way to disable vibration on the unlock slider (I know it didn't exist on DX1) but it'd be nice to have ability to not have that.
3.Is there a way to make it so that when you turn on the phone it does not make a loud "Droid" sound? Even if it's in silent or vibrate mode it still makes that sound, this didn't exist in DX1.Otherwise I like the screen more than in DX1 because it's more contrasty, sharper, and way more responsive to touch, which is great.The motoblur and interface.Same can be said about the whole phone, it's faster/more responsive and more refined UI compared to DX1 in my opinion, good job there.
1.Please add a numeric battery percentage indicator overlaying or next to the battery meter in top notification bar, or atleast return the battery percentage info in the settings like it was in DX1, otherwise one has to go Settings -> About -> Status to see it.
2.Please make gallery display all the pictures after a single-click on gallery app, instead of having to first click on gallery, then wait for some slide-show preview to render, then having to click on "Camera Roll" to get to actual pictures. Seems like a 10 second (2 click) process to view your pictures, it really should just be 1 click and 1-2 second process...
3.Please allow to turn off vibration on slider unlock, as well as "Droid" sound when phone boots up.
4.Please add ability to remove 7 home-screens and set it to only 1 if that's what I use.
5.Allow more icons on the home-screen, I think 5 rows can easily fit, maybe even 5 columns, or 6 rows, instead of generic 4 x 4.
Nokia :: N97 Locks When USB Connected And Slider Lock Key Wont Unlock It !
Mar 12, 2010When you connect the N97 via USB to a computer, whether it be ovi, mass storage, etc. mode after a few seconds the phone locks itself and you can not use the touch screen. Then none of the keys work except the menu button whether you disconnect it or not from the usb. At this point all the menu button does is light up the screen and say use the slider lock to unlock. But this button does not work at this point! I have to take the battery out after I charge the phone via usb to get the phone to work again. Anyone else with the same problem?
Any solutions?Give me back my pencil button!Im selling my brand new N97 and going back to my N95!!

Oct 24, 2011When ever I try to unlock (dragging lock button from left to right) , I am unable to unlock in one go. It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. I have tried the repair operation also. my xperia neo is uptodate and running 2.3.4 os.I also tried to un install apps but I couldn't find any difference.Also once I unlock, those 5 screens, I can scroll inbetween and can touch home button. But when I long press on the screen to add widget/folder I am unable to do it as soon as I unlock phone. It is taking some time to respond.
As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. I also installed andvance task killer app and killing apps frequently that also not making any help.

Apr 14, 2011I have a loose slider when i have my phone is "closed" There is a gap between the screen and the controller pad, that often when i use the touchscreen the touchscreen "clicks" because of the gap.Especially noticeable when I am laying down and have the phone upwards. Extremeley irritating.
I if turn the phone upside down, there is a play / gap that descends approx 1mm, and this is the gap that clicks whenever i use the touchscreen. a P

Put my phone onto charge last night with phone turned off. Â Don't normally do that but kept getting FB notifications. Â Turned phone on this morning and noticed several widgets missing from my home screen. Â There are gaps where widgets were but now they are missing. Â They are still on the phone as they're visible on the other screen where all my apps are.
