Motorola Droid X2 :: Way To Disable Vibration On Unlock Slider
May 22, 2011
a couple of issues with Droid X2, that's otherwise an awesome, very fast and responsive phone:
1.My new Droid X2 takes 2-3 seconds to turn on the screen after the power button is pressed to take it out of sleep mode, is there a way Motorola can address this issue since it did not exist in Droid X1.
2.I wish there was a way to disable vibration on the unlock slider (I know it didn't exist on DX1) but it'd be nice to have ability to not have that.
3.Is there a way to make it so that when you turn on the phone it does not make a loud "Droid" sound? Even if it's in silent or vibrate mode it still makes that sound, this didn't exist in DX1.Otherwise I like the screen more than in DX1 because it's more contrasty, sharper, and way more responsive to touch, which is great. The motoblur and interface.Same can be said about the whole phone, it's faster/more responsive and more refined UI compared to DX1 in my opinion, good job there.
1.Please add a numeric battery percentage indicator overlaying or next to the battery meter in top notification bar, or atleast return the battery percentage info in the settings like it was in DX1, otherwise one has to go Settings -> About -> Status to see it.
2.Please make gallery display all the pictures after a single-click on gallery app, instead of having to first click on gallery, then wait for some slide-show preview to render, then having to click on "Camera Roll" to get to actual pictures. Seems like a 10 second (2 click) process to view your pictures, it really should just be 1 click and 1-2 second process...
3.Please allow to turn off vibration on slider unlock, as well as "Droid" sound when phone boots up.
4.Please add ability to remove 7 home-screens and set it to only 1 if that's what I use.
5.Allow more icons on the home-screen, I think 5 rows can easily fit, maybe even 5 columns, or 6 rows, instead of generic 4 x 4.
But now I can't disable vibration when I unlock the screen. The phone produces short tremors either when sliding the unlock slider or after successful fingerprint authentication.
Now, there is an option in Settings -> Location & Security -> Use tactile feedback. It only works partially. It enabled fingerprint authentication produces one short and one long vibration. When disable it is down to one short vibration. I am curious is this a bug or a feature?
My droid definitely had an issue with the slider mechanism. It became extremely loose and would open up in my pocket all the time. Also, there was a huge gap between the slider and the keyboard. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
I cannot get the slider on the touch screen to unlock my iPhone 3G. There are parts of the screen that do not work consistently. I can grab the slider and move it, but right before the phone should unlock the slider disengages and moves back to the left.
This problem started yesterday. Sometimes the screen is completely unresponsive. I can unlock the phone by the camera icon only. The phone also seems to be slightly warm.
I used to be able to just use the side volume control and turn it all down and it would mute the ringer but allow notifications for texts and emails. That, suddenly has gone. I have tried everything I can think of to do. Setting priorities does nothing. The moment that the ringer turns off, the vibration icon grays out. I get it back if I turn the ringer to its lowest setting but I do not want that. At work, having just the vibration running for calls and texts was perfect.
My phone vibrates for phone calls and texts but not emails.I just want to make sure this is reported somewhere. I called Motorola directly but they are reluctant to report anything.
When you connect the N97 via USB to a computer, whether it be ovi, mass storage, etc. mode after a few seconds the phone locks itself and you can not use the touch screen. Then none of the keys work except the menu button whether you disconnect it or not from the usb. At this point all the menu button does is light up the screen and say use the slider lock to unlock. But this button does not work at this point! I have to take the battery out after I charge the phone via usb to get the phone to work again. Anyone else with the same problem?
Any solutions?Give me back my pencil button!Im selling my brand new N97 and going back to my N95!!
Slider switch has bust & the phone is locked. I can't backup using PC suite because it's locked. I've tried taking the battery out & switching on again, but it locks again before I can do anything.
So since this phone does not have an LED light, the only way to know when you have a message is via Moto Display, right? Well, now the display comes in anytime there is any vibration, its diving me nuts. The MotoDisplay has no options other than on/off? I really just want the screen to turn on when I either have a new message or when I wave my hand over it, NOT when it senses vibrations. If the phone is on my couch, the display comes on all the time. Even when its on my desk, it can sense when i drop a folder or book on it and the screen turns on. Are there really no ways to turn off the vibration sensors?????
Is there any information about haptic feedback (vibration) signals on the Droid 4? I have noticed sometimes after adjusting the volume with the side-mounted rocker buttons that I will sometimes experience a double (short) vibrate or a longer vibrate, but it doesn't seem to happen all the time. I have also experienced these feedback signals at other times, and can't figure out what is triggering them or what they are meant to indicate. They don't seem related to notifications or other obvious indications.
I have been using my Droid X problem free for about a month but this morning my phone completely stopped vibrating. It worked properly when my alarms went off around 7 AM but when I got to work around 8:30 there was no notification vibrations, no haptic feedback, and the phone didn't vibrate when I set it to vibrate mode. I didn't touch the phone at all between the time I woke up and the time I pulled it out at work (except to shut the alarms off) so I'm just very confused as to why all of a sudden the vibrate will not function. I have tried rebooting, battery pulls, and changed every vibration setting I could find but to no avail.
I noticed immediately that the haptic feedback out of the box was really weak. Oddly, once I installed SwiftKey and adjusted its haptic KB feedback that now the keys are old giving a much stronger feedback.
I never did figure out the white LED when plugged into a low/high power USB port, but now just after I begin to play music through the stock player and turn of the screen the phone vibrates once. Then in about a min it vibrates 2 quick vibes. Then, never does it again until the music player is exited and started again.
I have looked eveywhere for the setting to adjust the strength and pattern of the vibration. Am I just missing it, or is there no way to adjust, its just sometimes the vibration can barely be felt.
I am hearing impaired and rely on the Maxx vibrate mode to catch messages. However the vibration is weak and only vibrates in two very short bursts.I cannot feel it.Is there a way to change the level and frequency of vibration? I didn't see anything is the Settings app.
How to disable vibration and sound in messaging app?
When you unclick the vibrate option in notification settings in the stock messaging app, it won't vibrate when you receive a text if you set your phone to vibrate mode.
I don't want my phone to vibrate and make a sound with volume on when receiving texts, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it vibrate only when in vibrate mode and make a sound when in sound mode without vibration.
Other apps like groupme allow you to separate vibration and sound mode, but can't in the stock messaging app...
I have only had the Turbo a few weeks. I have turned on a call answer vibration somehow. My wife's doesn't do it. I cant figure out what I turned on. Need turning the vibrate pulse off. Its when swiping to answer incoming calls only. I have vibrate turned off under settings.
My phone has somehow switched to a left hand swipe to unlock the phone (same as default unlock slider, execpt for left hand). How can I reset it back to the right hand?
I want to take full advantage of HD video camera on my Droid Turbo, and found an external lavalier lapel microphone (Audio Technica 3350iS, which comes with an adapter for "smartphones including iPhone and newer Android phones"). But even when I use the adapter, the video recorder will only use the phone's on board mic. How can I disable/mute the onboard mic? Scoured the interweb, and at one point there was a perfect app "Mute Mic", but the NSA or Google or Motorola decided it was too useful to live.
