Nokia Lumia :: 900: Home, Back And Search Buttons Stopped Working
Jul 19, 2012Today the Home, Back and Search buttons stopped working in my Lumia 900. They don't work at all now. Zune says the software is up to date. I even tried a Hard Reset on it, but it didn't help.I tried once to boot without SIM card, and it seemed to help -- but only for a while after which the issue reappeared. Now I've been rebooting the phone a million times with and without SIM card and not seen the buttons working at all. Is it a HW failure?

Oct 10, 2014I've just noticed that the Lumia 1520 (brand new, bought last week) sometimes has the haptic feedback/vibrations turn off by itself when pressing the navigation buttons on the phone. However, they are set to on, in the 'touch' settings (running Lumia cyan now).
When I do a soft reset, the buttons start working for a with vibration, then stop (just to note, they work, just the haptic goes wonky). I tried giving the phone a call - the vibration still works, just doesn't seem to work.

Feb 11, 2012Trying to use app Map on Lumia 800 I am not able to find the search icon on the map allowing me to search for a place or business or shops etc. The only available icon is the search icon outside the map which only is used to search internet giving me a list of links which can not be connected to the map. I have tried to follow the instructions given in the manual however with no success. It all stops after launching the map. Note: This problem affects only the use of Map (Bing) and not Nokia Map or Nokia Drive. What am i doing wrong?

Dec 7, 2012I got a voice mail pop-up saying I had 49 New Voice Messages. Now I have the number 49 and a really tiny message indicator with a line pointing up from the middle of the reels. If I then get a voice message, that number and the message icon appears to the left. After I listen to the vm, both will disappear. If I turn the phone off and turn it back on, the 49 and little icon are back. Any ideas? I have the BB Bold 9900.

I used it for a day or two and then enabled PFD (couldn't go another day without it :) and the next day noticed the search button no longer lit up. Finally did a hard reset but no diff. So: hardware failure, return for replacement (they're good about that) or possibly software, wait for Denim?

Mar 16, 2012I bought a new Nokia Lumia 800. I noticed that despite turning off vibration, the phone vibrates each time the back key (<-) is pressed. Is there any way to turn this off. i believe this could save a lot of battery.Also how do we completely close an application in Lumia 800? I opened a page in IE. pressed back key. Then pressed and held back key to find there is no active application or IE running. However, when i open IE next time, I see the previous page has been loaded and it has been active all this time which could have been eating in to my data usage as well as battery charge.

Nov 19, 2012I have a US ATT White Lumia 920. Here are the steps to replicate the problem:
1. Switch phone to vibrate only: Press the volume rocker and hit the bell on top right to switch the phone in to vibrate only mode. 2. Play music on phone: Plugin headphones or play music on the phone speaker through any music app. 3. Call your phone from another phone.
Expected Behavior: As with any phone when you play music on the phone and get a call, the phone should pause/stop the music and play your ringtone/ caller tone. After the call has ended the music should continue.
Issue/Bug: The phone does not pause/stop the playing music when a call comes. However the phone does vibrate. This is a problem and has lead to missed calls when the phone is in my jacket pocket or bag where the vibration cannot be felt.

Jul 29, 2014Just took the leap from IPhone to the Nokia Lumia Icon despite all the criticism from friends and family who are avid IPhone users. I was a little unsure at first and nervous but when I opened that thing up it was amazing. So about two hours into playing with it I wanted to try my hand at putting music on it. So I plugged it into my computer, nothing, I read everything online about how to do it, and so I kept trying the computer and still nothing. Ehhh I'll figure it out later. I go to charge it at night, nothing. So to make a longer story a little shorter, I took it back to Verizon to get a new one not even 24 hours after I got it. Now I'm super nervous about having an Icon, but so far this is day 3 and I'm loving it. I have all my music on it but I wanted to know if there was anyway to back up the music I have to my computer or is that just something I need to use SkyDrive for?
