I just got the lumia 800 for 2 days.
I found that the ringtone volume is too soft and the vibration is not strong enough (in adddition with the problem of once start vibration in incoming call).
I have a US ATT White Lumia 920. Here are the steps to replicate the problem:
1. Switch phone to vibrate only: Press the volume rocker and hit the bell on top right to switch the phone in to vibrate only mode. 2. Play music on phone: Plugin headphones or play music on the phone speaker through any music app. 3. Call your phone from another phone.
Expected Behavior: As with any phone when you play music on the phone and get a call, the phone should pause/stop the music and play your ringtone/ caller tone. After the call has ended the music should continue.
Issue/Bug: The phone does not pause/stop the playing music when a call comes. However the phone does vibrate. This is a problem and has lead to missed calls when the phone is in my jacket pocket or bag where the vibration cannot be felt.
I noticed immediately that the haptic feedback out of the box was really weak. Oddly, once I installed SwiftKey and adjusted its haptic KB feedback that now the keys are old giving a much stronger feedback.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Nokia Lumia 800. I noticed that despite turning off vibration, the phone vibrates each time the back key (<-) is pressed. Is there any way to turn this off. i believe this could save a lot of battery.Also how do we completely close an application in Lumia 800? I opened a page in IE. pressed back key. Then pressed and held back key to find there is no active application or IE running. However, when i open IE next time, I see the previous page has been loaded and it has been active all this time which could have been eating in to my data usage as well as battery charge.

It comes from the phone and it stops when I pick it up from the charger plate. (Well it does now, this morning I had to reboot the phone for it to stop)
Anyway, I found this clip on YouTube which is the exact sound mine is making too. Just search for "950 xl clicking" on YouTube. Do all 950(XL)'s make this noise? And is it a sign of trouble ahead?
My Lumia 950 keeps freezing when I use Edge. 9/10 it freezes when using edge and only a soft reset will set it right.

I have not completed a factory reset yet, especially since it's still a new phone in all senses. But how I'll likely proceed with the reset and if it happens again: contact warranty to get a replacement.

The text messaging app gone missing after a soft reset. This on windows 10 build 10536. There was lots of apps in the store listed error and could not install, so I did a soft reset. Everything is backed on and few app still could install with error code.
The main problem now is the text message app gone missing. The button display as 'Microsoft messaging', when I click on it says need to download an app then direct to store, but then nothing happens.
The touch screen wont respond on my Icon even after multiple soft resets. I do have the developers 8.1 installed. If this would be a faulty phone or would it be something in the 8.1 download....
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above.
2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time.
3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above.
4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually.
5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
How to turn off the vibration on the screen for the Nokia 1020 ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I went running with my Lumia 1020 listening to music and using the Runtastic app. The music stopped - I looked at the phone - it was turned off. I tried powering on, but to no avail. I should also mention that upon leaving, the battery was fully charged and this happened after some 20 minutes. When I came home, I immediately put the phone on the wall charger and expected it to power on after a while. I checked it after 3 hours and nothing, the phone was still stone-dead and what was even more worrying, completely cold - no heat-up from charging.
I tried connecting it to my PC - the computer didn't even recognize ANY device was connected to it. Just to be sure, I tried Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but sure enough, it was not able to detect the phone. The phone seems to be dead meat now, but when I put it on my desk wireless charging stand, the stand's indicator lights up, although the phone does nothing and stays that way.
On silent and normal profiles, the vibration stops after around 20 seconds even though the incoming call persists. How do I get the vibration to continue?
View 1 Replies View Relatedit all started with my memory card being corrupted somehow - I found some topics that recommended resetting the mobile - which I did after backup up the contents of my memory card (original Nokia 8GB) - I did the same some time ago and it worked flawlessly back then - but not this time. After copying / formatting the memory card all my applications where gone - restoring the previously backed up files didn't work this time. Additionally when I tried to access/change anything Theme related or try to use the mode switcher the handset crashed every time. My next thought was - maybe there are some leftover settings - maybe a reset will help. The reset did work so far - but the problem with Themes remains. Additionally I am no longer able to start the OVI store application, nor the Advanced Call Manager application that I downloaded from the Ovi store before it stopped working.I did reinstall the firmware now but this didn't solve the problem either. Accessing anything theme related (even installing new ones) triggers a restart of my handset.Did anybody experience some similar behaviour?
