Lumia 950 XL :: Cannot Get Vibration / Banners Or Sound Notifications With New Emails
Dec 3, 2015
Shouldn't this be as straight forward as going into notifications, turning vibrate on and sound on?Apparently not as this doesn't do anything. Sound and vibe works for my other notifications. Outlook is my only issue right now.
No matter what I do I don't receive any. I get the tile counters, a glance screen notification and it shows new email in the notifications menu but I don't get any sound or vibrate for new emails arriving.
I just got a Lumia 950, and I'm not very happy .. I had my previous Lumia for 2.5 years with no issues .. I'm consistently losing the sound notifications on everything (ie: messaging, alarms, calendar, mail, etc).
I have gone through all of the banner checks, setting everything to "default sound", and consistently having to reset this stupid phone to get the sound to work for only a couple of days, before it goes away again, and I have to go through the process again ...
I've notice two bugs with this new update on my unlocked 1020 with tmobile:
1. I can no longer hear any notifications, or alarms.
When I navigate to settings>ringtones+notifications>and try to set my ringtone, I can't even get a preview of the sound. When i press the preview/play button, i get backed out into the settings menu again.
2. When I am typing a text and someone else texts me, I get backed out into the main menu/ metro pane menu.
Noticed these problems with OS version 8.10.12382.878
I tried a soft reset and a hard reset (factory), but it didn't work....
I have a Z3 and can'tr find out how to turn the vibration for notifications off. In the settings there is an option for "Also Vibrate for Calls" but nothing about how to turn it off for notifications.
Is there a way to customize the vibrations native to Sense 5.5, or do I need a third party app?
I notice in vibrate only that different types of notifications have different vibrate patterns, but I don't know if they're tied to the audible notification or by notification type (email, text, or general?).
It would be nice in the winter when walking outside to be able to tell what the notification is without having to pull the phone out of my pocket. Usually a winter coat or just outside noise drowns out the audible notification.
Just picked up the M8 and I'm super pleased with just about everything on the phone with the exception of a few things. One of the few things that bugs me about this phone is that I'm constantly missing texts, and e-mail notifications if the phone is in my pocket.
On my old phones, I'd rely on vibration to let me know when I receive incoming texts, or notifications, and on the M8 it seems theres only a single option to enable vibration and not anywhere to intensify, or even change the vibration patterns when receiving texts or other notifications.
Is there anything built into the phone that can intensify the vibration or possibly make it vibrate for a longer duration? I'd hate to download a third party app just to do this, but if thats my only option then I'll be happy to do so.
During a call, if there's any kind of notification (email or sms) or alarm the phone will annoyingly vibrate which I and the other person can hear.I've looked in the settings and haven't found a way to only turn off vibrate during calls. The only thing in the settings I've seen is to just turn of notifications completely, which I don't really consider a solution since I would like my phone to vibrate when things come in normally.I've missed the simple setting that stops vibration during a call.
I had a system update on my brand new s6 and now it won't vibrate for notifications it works for the keyboard and when it turns on and off so the motor is good. And I went into setting and it's all on. But I just can't get it to work.
Over the past couple of days, my phone (iphone 4) has been random vibrating and/or making various sounds. When this happens, there are no notifications. It will just sound or buzz for what seems to be no reason. Most of the time, my applications are not on. I have push on for my mail application, but that's it. The phone is in good condition, it's never been dropped or damaged in any way.
I did a google search and a search on this forum but i could not find a solution. After i send a text i get a balance notification from O2, This notification vibrates. Is there a way to turn this vibration off (or only have it vibrate in silent mode, like i have enabled for my SMS)
My Galaxy S5 phone is always on vibration mode. If I have a notification and I don't remove it, it keeps reminding me every few minutes (two quick vibrations, three and a half times in a row) and I would really like to make it stop.
I have been using my Droid X problem free for about a month but this morning my phone completely stopped vibrating. It worked properly when my alarms went off around 7 AM but when I got to work around 8:30 there was no notification vibrations, no haptic feedback, and the phone didn't vibrate when I set it to vibrate mode. I didn't touch the phone at all between the time I woke up and the time I pulled it out at work (except to shut the alarms off) so I'm just very confused as to why all of a sudden the vibrate will not function. I have tried rebooting, battery pulls, and changed every vibration setting I could find but to no avail.
Firstly, this question has nothing to do with keyboard vibration/feedback. I just want to know how to keep my phone on loud, but turn off the vibration. I can't find a button anywhere to turn off vibrate, apart from putting it on silent...
Edit: yes, the first thing I did was go into the settings and do that, but it doesn't work for texting or whatsapp messages and I don't know how to turn it off for those. I don't mind the vibration when it rings.
I charge my 5s phone at night, and about halfway through the night my phone starts to vibrate to notify me that it is done charging which is great but it constantly wakes me up as it goes on all night. is there a setting I am missing to turn this off? my wife's 5s does not do this nor does my son's ...
My 2310 mobile suddenly won't ring. Settings have volume at 5 and vibrating on. Battery is charged. However, when I hold my 2310 and ring it from my landline, it neither rings nor vibrates. A message appears on the screen "Home ringing" with a little white X in a red disk. If I press the green telephone button, communication is established. Can anyone help me restore the sound & vibration please?
Perhaps stupid but in android 1.6 together with the wifi and gps there was a icon to select the sound on/off/vibration know after update to 2.1 i can't find a fast way to change de sound to off or vibration execpt via the setting menu. Is there a widget or perhaps a link so you can put it on one of the screens.
when I am on a call I am not getting a vibration or a sound to let me know a text message has come in on my LG G3 on Lollipop. This is something I am certain it did before. It's not happening with regular texts or on WhatsApp.I have been messing around in the new Sounds & Notifications (which is super confusing) and I just can't seem to make it happen,
I am trying to set an alarm with no sound, but with vibration. My particular alarm sound is set to "none," and the vibrators are ON in Settings / Sounds for both "silent"and tone sounds. With these settings, neither my wife's iPhone 4 or my 4s will vibrate when the alarm goes off silently.
How to disable vibration and sound in messaging app?
When you unclick the vibrate option in notification settings in the stock messaging app, it won't vibrate when you receive a text if you set your phone to vibrate mode.
I don't want my phone to vibrate and make a sound with volume on when receiving texts, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it vibrate only when in vibrate mode and make a sound when in sound mode without vibration.
Other apps like groupme allow you to separate vibration and sound mode, but can't in the stock messaging app...
A slight, yet audible popping sound that you can occassionally hear when using the phone with haptic vibration turned on and in quiet environments. It goes away completely when I disable haptic vibration feedback. It's not a big problem, just a minor annoyance. Still, disappointing considering the price of the phone.
I have the W995i, but when ever it vibrates, it’s sounds so cheap and poor and sometimes the two parts of the phone (which slide) vibrate against each other. Trying it with other handsets, the result is a much nicer sound and feeling. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like tinny and horrible. Does anyone else have this problem? It was second hand off ebay.
I recently bought two iPhone 4S.. but one of it has a loud buzzing sound during vibration mode but the other one is perfectly fine..I bought it from Maxis center.Went to maxis center to ask for an exchange but they couldn't exchange a new one for me. They said if they were to send the phone back to Apple, I would probably get back my same old buzzing phone because it wasn't hardware error. Is there any other possible way to exchange??
when I receive a text, there is no sound, no vibration and no alert on the main screen. The only way I know I have a text is if I go into my inbox and see the little red or see the flash.Ive read that maybe deleting all my messages would help but I really don't want to lose them all.
