when I receive a text, there is no sound, no vibration and no alert on the main screen. The only way I know I have a text is if I go into my inbox and see the little red or see the flash.Ive read that maybe deleting all my messages would help but I really don't want to lose them all.

I have just upgraded to the 400.* firmware without major issues. I was pleasently surprised to see the new Chat application. Although not the best it works on my unlimited browsing service where no other IM app will so I am thrilled!
The one issue is that there is no sound or vibration alert for new messages (using Google Talk). I have checked and unchecked the more->options play sound/vibration boxes without effect. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The phone vibrates when it gets a call but it doesn't vibrate when a message comes ! I did not install advanced battery monitor also ! I reset my phone and re-installed the latest firmware also , but still the problem persists

Edit: yes, the first thing I did was go into the settings and do that, but it doesn't work for texting or whatsapp messages and I don't know how to turn it off for those. I don't mind the vibration when it rings.
I've had my X6 for about four months now and have never encountered any problems until the last 24 hours. When I recieve a text I am no longer alerted on the home screen and no noise will be made when I am on the 'General' profile. I can only see if i have recieved a text my going to messaging on the Menu and checking Inbox here. I am not alerted by an icon at the top of the screen either in the corner as i was before.

Battery is charged.However, when I hold my 2310 and ring it from my landline, it neither rings nor vibrates. A message appears on the screen "Home ringing" with a little white X in a red disk. How to disable vibration and sound in messaging app?
When you unclick the vibrate option in notification settings in the stock messaging app, it won't vibrate when you receive a text if you set your phone to vibrate mode.
I don't want my phone to vibrate and make a sound with volume on when receiving texts, but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it vibrate only when in vibrate mode and make a sound when in sound mode without vibration.
Other apps like groupme allow you to separate vibration and sound mode, but can't in the stock messaging app...
A slight, yet audible popping sound that you can occassionally hear when using the phone with haptic vibration turned on and in quiet environments. It goes away completely when I disable haptic vibration feedback. It's not a big problem, just a minor annoyance. Still, disappointing considering the price of the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the W995i, but when ever it vibrates, it’s sounds so cheap and poor and sometimes the two parts of the phone (which slide) vibrate against each other. Trying it with other handsets, the result is a much nicer sound and feeling. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like tinny and horrible. Does anyone else have this problem? It was second hand off ebay.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought two iPhone 4S.. but one of it has a loud buzzing sound during vibration mode but the other one is perfectly fine..I bought it from Maxis center.Went to maxis center to ask for an exchange but they couldn't exchange a new one for me. They said if they were to send the phone back to Apple, I would probably get back my same old buzzing phone because it wasn't hardware error.Is there any other possible way to exchange??

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I updated my X2-00's software but I didn't have time to backup the stuff on it so I went straight to the install. I regret doing this because the tone I use for SMS messages (beep once) has changed and I do not like the new one!! It is too quiet and doesn't sound as notifying as the original Beep Once tone. As this is a tone not accessible through any of the folders in the gallery, people have had trouble trying to obtain this tone! Or would a rollback of my software work?

The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?

When I have the phone on vibrate, it does not vibrate either. I tried going into each sound profile and I set the alerts for "social feeds" since Facebook isn't listed under there (only Twitter is).
