I've had my X6 for about four months now and have never encountered any problems until the last 24 hours. When I recieve a text I am no longer alerted on the home screen and no noise will be made when I am on the 'General' profile. I can only see if i have recieved a text my going to messaging on the Menu and checking Inbox here. I am not alerted by an icon at the top of the screen either in the corner as i was before.

A few days ago, the text message tone mysteriously disappeared from my phone, along with the little envelope that would pop up on my screen to let me know there was a text message. I only know if I have a new message by going into the messaging screen and checking my inbox.

I regret doing this because the tone I use for SMS messages (beep once) has changed and I do not like the new one!! It is too quiet and doesn't sound as notifying as the original Beep Once tone. As this is a tone not accessible through any of the folders in the gallery, people have had trouble trying to obtain this tone! Or would a rollback of my software work?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if i've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference.

It is set to play a sound (message 1), and i've had it for months it used to beep normally but now it doesn't anymore. and the phone is not on silent. It doesn't show the new message icon either. As since the answer is likely still no, why do you think Apple still hasn't implemented this, especially since we now have iOS4? My concern is because while I love the default (tri-tone I think it's called), with so many friends and family with iPhones, it starts to get confusing for people (since nearly everyone around me uses this one as the others are meh).
My text notification only goes once. I need it to keep going until I look at the text.

I have a need to have text (SMS) messages to wake me, but I dno't want general emails to wake me at night. My iPhone 4s spends most of its life in silet mode, but I need all text messages to be obnoxious so that they will make me. When I had a BLackberry I could set different message notification types for example I can always have text messages loud but could silence anything else. I'm toying aroudn with setting the contact SMS to be the Alarm tone but I'm not sure how this iwll work when I have it in silent...

So starting last night I noticed that when I get a instagram notification my phone would chime and it never did that before. No big deal. However this morning I put my phone on mute and when i received a text message my phone chimes. I turned the sound off and defaulted the messages to silent but it still keeps making the same noise even though my phone is on silent.
How I can turn that off?? Its a Samsung Galaxy S5
