I recently bought the Nokia X6 and I am wondering if it is possible to have the alert repeat itself after a couple of minutes when receiving a Text Message ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just moved from LG touch (hated it) to a very basic Nokia 2220. Previously had Samsung before.
With the 2220, when I receive a text I have set the tone I want however I cannot find if this phone will allow the tone to sound after every two minutes. All my previous phones have had this facility which I like as if you don't hear the notification sound at first it alerts you every two minutes.Is it just this phone or are all Nokia's like this?
The s5 had the setting for messages called "repeat message alert" under messages-setting-notification -repeat message alert. You could set it to Never/every 2 minutes/every 10 minutes.
I can't get text messages to make audible reminder alert, which means I have to constantly look at the screen and not listen for the beep.
I have a N97 mini. Very nice phone. took some time to get the messaging to work.But still I only receive the new e-mail sound, but no new e-mail icon is shown.Also I noticed that when I use the messaging screen will my phone is closed the icon's on top (like the sync icon) is not shown. When I open my phone(pull out the keyboard) the icons are shown.Does anybody has the same problem or know how to solve it?

It is set to play a sound (message 1), and i've had it for months it used to beep normally but now it doesn't anymore. and the phone is not on silent. It doesn't show the new message icon either. Only way I know I've got a new message is by going into the messages screen and seeing the red inbox sign.

Also is it possible to change the force of the vibrate as it seems quite weak compared to the n97?
I have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
I have never posted on anything like this before so please bear with me.I have a new 6700 slide, but there are 2 things I can't get used to, having had a Samsung phone before.
1. (The worst thing) - if a text comes in, and I don't happen to hear the buzzy tone thing, then I don't get another reminder, and there is no visible sign on the phone that there is a new message unless I open the slide. Even then it doesn't tell me who the message is from and I have to go to the inbox. Is there a way of getting more than one alert? I really don't like this.
2. Every time I turn the phone on it asks me to set up my email preferences. I don't want to use it for email but even if I cancel it, it asks me again next time I turn it on. Can I stop it asking once and for all?
3. Is there a way of marking text messages for deletion, without having to mark just one (very time consuming) or all (which you might not want to do)?
I would be really grateful for any help on one or all of these questions. I really wanted a Nokia but now I am pining for my Samsung.
No arabic language exist in text messaging in my phone,although my phone supports arabic language!

Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. On bbm I keep getting an incoming bbm instant message alert/sound while im typing a message. The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. Can I deactivate this alert/sound?

When I recieve a text I am no longer alerted on the home screen and no noise will be made when I am on the 'General' profile. I can only see if i have recieved a text my going to messaging on the Menu and checking Inbox here. I am not alerted by an icon at the top of the screen either in the corner as i was before.
