I have a N97 mini. Very nice phone. took some time to get the messaging to work.But still I only receive the new e-mail sound, but no new e-mail icon is shown.Also I noticed that when I use the messaging screen will my phone is closed the icon's on top (like the sync icon) is not shown. When I open my phone(pull out the keyboard) the icons are shown.Does anybody has the same problem or know how to solve it?

Everytime I recieve a Text or have a missed call the alert for it wont pop up the only way i know i got a text is if i go to my inbox. How do I fix this?

It's called "Hotmail" and the Icon is a blue circle with a question mark in it.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the icon without going back to factory defaults?
Can anyone tell me if the XpressMusic 5800 should have an audible alert say every minute or so to let me know I have a voice mail message, I know there is one when the message first arrives? Also the same for text messages, I know there is a flashing button, but I was hoping for an audible alert, not just for when it first arrives?

But when I receive an email and i read it in outlook or OWA the "new Mail icon" on my N97mini doesn't disappear. I can only add the email widget with one email box , for this email account i will see when new email arrive, but waht's about the other emails?
Exists any other widget who tells me that i have new emails so i not must start manually nokia messaging for take a look? I have install too the Beta Nokia Notification, but this only gives me info about missed calls, and not readed SMS.

I have a Nokia E71 just update to the firmware 410.21.010. I did not recovered backup after the upgrade and I formatted the memory card, so it's completely clean.
Now, Nokia Email has appear as new included application so I would like to use it, but when I configure my email account (form a supported services: ovi, gmail, etc...), the wizard only configures my mobile for the typical IMAP client. It's strange, because I have a different E71 also update to this same firmare and Nokia Messaging works fine and creates the Nokia Messaging account.How could use Nokia Messaging with my E71?. Is there some way to create a Nokia Messaging account form the web instead from the phone?.
On bbm I keep getting an incoming bbm instant message alert/sound while im typing a message. The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. Can I deactivate this alert/sound?

All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I recieve an email it only shows up on the "messages" folder.My previous BB would show the new mail indicator in both "Messages" folder and the specific email folder it belonged in. If I go to the specific folder, the email is inside, it just will not alert me to this folder.Hope this makes sense.Currently I have 4 specific email folders, a text folder, and a messages folder.

you give you child a phone and don't want to text all day with their friends, also if your kid is less than 13 years you could block this feature so that he can't chat with strangers.
also this feature is important because if you enable this feature you could have 2 different passwords for accesing messages or mail, this is important when your friends or family knows your main password but they don't know they password for restricted apps.
why would some one wants to block Internet, camera, safari, and other apps but you can't block messages or mail?
