I have set up an account on email.nokia.com using my gmail email address, but I get a message 'Invalid e-mail address' when using this address to setup messaging on my phone (5800). I'm using v10.2 of the messaging software and on VirginMobile in Australia (though I've been trying to connect via wifi).

I am trying to set up my xpress mail account but everytime i enter my pop server i get the a message "invalid email address" Does any one know why? The email address is in fact vaild.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought a 5800 Express Music and am very new to the world of mobile phones. I have had a Yahoo Mail account for the last ten years and would like to be able to access it throught the phone's email system.
This is what I've done: In Settings Wizard, click Email Setup.
-Phone says "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?"
-I say "yes".
-Phone says "Testing network", then "Contacting email server".
-Phone gives me a screen with Yahoo, Gmail, Ovi etc.
-I click on Yahoo, then write my Yahoo email address.
-Phone says "Getting email settings", then "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again".
I have recently acquired a Blackberry 8300 smartphone 2nd hand as my previous phone broke and I'm due an upgrade soon so didn't see the point of buying a new one. I wiped the phone so I could put my information on and recently checked a post that if it wasn't for work purposes you didn't need a blackberry password to set up my personal e-mail address and the password was only for work related e-mails.
Can someone confirm if this is the case and also how I set it up otherwise as it just keeps asking for a password and wont let me add mine on without it.
I am having real and I mean real problems setting up my Mail.com email. Since their settings have changed I have not received any emails. I am on my third blackberry curve, Carphonewarehouse don't know what to do. It just wont set up. I get "update failed" I have tried to set up through T Mobile on my phone, no luck, says an error has occurred while setting up email...I have run out of ideas. Contract is ending in Nov and very tempted to go to another smartphone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt is currently impossible to sync contacts, calendar etc with Ovi. The phone shows the error message "invalid host adress". When I do a ping from my computer it shows "ping: cannot resolve sync.ovi.com/: Unknown host".It's petty that so many services in Ovi remain unpredictable.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up my outbound mail on Nolia Messaging with my mail provider, Virgin. I have found that when I synch the mailbox, the previoulsy read mail disappears. Virgin have recommended that the email address is prefixed with Recent: e.g recent:username@virgin.net. The problem with this is that the Virgin SMTP server does not recognise the email address when Recent is added and the outbound emails are not sent. I have tried using the T-Mobile SMTP server settings using the Nokia messaging portall by adding smtp.t-email.co.uk but this is not accepted when adding it into the server details. Anybody got any ideas - I am going crazy and being bounced between Nokia, T-Mobile and Virgin.

I recently purchased the application known as ThreadedSMS because I like to see my text messages threaded as in conversation form. After I installed it, the original messaging application still pops up notifications in addition to ThreadedSMS. Also when I click on a contact and wish to send a text message, it uses the original messaging application instead of Threaded SMS.Is there a way to set the OS's default messaging application to be Threaded SMS so that I don't get double the notifications of incoming text messages, and so when I try to send a text message via contacts it doesnt pull up the original SMS application.Also, does anyone know a more finger friendly Contact Manager application (similar to iPhone )?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed Nokia Messaging on my 5800 and it was working fine for a month or so. Now it has simply stopped syncing. WiFi / TMobile connection does not matter. Even if I click on "Send/Receive" it does not connect. (the connection indicator at the top-right is always grey - indicating no connection.)
So I deleted my GMail account and recreated it on the email.nokia.com website. Now when I try to send/receive it atleast shows the green 'connecting' icon and then goes back to grey. If I look at the connection info it says 'sync failed'. The logs show 'Sync stopped'.
I have noticed that the nokia messaging solution dose not have the option of a custom "reply-to" address.how it works--- i have email address A and B. On address A the reply-to option is B. then i send an email to address C from A. when address C clicks reply, the reply address becomes B not A.this is a feature included in the built in email client, it's available in Gmail and also Blackberry.I would like to see nokia implement this.I'm using a 5800 with messaging installed but not using due to the lack of this feature.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had my 5800 for a couple of weeks now and when I got it I set up my gmail account with the built in email client under messaging. Everything was working fine. Since yesterday I have not been able to get any new emails to show up on my phone. I've deleted and re-added the mail box and old messages show up and I can view older emails but no new ones? I've checked all of my gmail settings, and I do in fact have new emails sitting there but no joy.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I select Messaging -> Settings -> Other -> Memory -> [select memory card E]then it is OK for email messages but when I receive an SMS it issues an error 'Cannot access memory' and then it switches back to phone memory C, stres the message there and then opens is.
This bug is still present in Firmware V4.0025. Is there a workaround for this?The reason is that 'Phone memory C' is still very precious as it is shared with the working memory (Symbian design flaw ?) so I do not use the C memory is possible.

I can only add the email widget with one email box , for this email account i will see when new email arrive, but waht's about the other emails?
Exists any other widget who tells me that i have new emails so i not must start manually nokia messaging for take a look? I have install too the Beta Nokia Notification, but this only gives me info about missed calls, and not readed SMS.
I have a N97 mini. Very nice phone. took some time to get the messaging to work.But still I only receive the new e-mail sound, but no new e-mail icon is shown.Also I noticed that when I use the messaging screen will my phone is closed the icon's on top (like the sync icon) is not shown. When I open my phone(pull out the keyboard) the icons are shown.Does anybody has the same problem or know how to solve it?

Everything works fine except the camera. When I active the camera I can see that the application is started (seeing the indication in the menu) BUT I can't see the application. Thus I cannot take pictures.
Another question I have. Is there a setting in the emailsetup to prevent emails being deleted from the server when I deleted them on the phne?
With new version of Nokia Messaging 10.2 (26) the automatically push mail in my Nokia N97 mini doesn't work anymore.
Now, for getting mails I need to select "each 15 minutes" in Options - Tools - Definitions - When Syncs. - Send and receive.
In last version I received mails automatically in my phone, as soon as they arrived to my mailbox, now it doesn't work.
