if i create a new email account on the 5230 and enter my mail address which looks similiar like this one the mail wizard says that it is invalid. what's wrong here? I updated the phone two days ago. This has only just caused a problem as her screen froze so she removed the battery and had to re-input the password and cannot remember it. Of course the password reminders are going to an invalid email.I have set up a correct Blackberry id for her now (on the computer) but cannot change it on her phone as the original password for the incorrect email is required!I've tried to google and I'm sure it's simple but have a distraught daughter who cannot BBM her friends!Is the only solution to wipe it?

I set up a new email address on the server and deleted the old account from my handset.Problem is, I now cannot get the new address to work!!I just get a message saying 'Invalid email address or password...'None of the email addresses on my hosting server will work, I have tried existing addresses, new addresses, resetting passwords, sending service books, re-registering device on network, downgrading devive software, data-wiping, upgrading the devic software... the list goes on!I have contacted my hosting provider and they have confirmed that everything is ok at their end.

My blackberry is setup with microsoft exchange email. All was working well until I upgraded to the Blackberry Tour.
Here is my problem:
Sometimes, but not everytime, when I try to REPLY to an email I receive an error message which says that the email contains an invalid email address. I have scrolled through all the email addresses contained in the reply and can confirm that they are in fact valid email addresses.
Things I have tried:
Battery pull
Renaming my own contact name
Eliminating custom email "aliases"
I went into the Appleid and updated the email address there. The problem?? Icloud on my Iphone 4! It does not allow you to change the User ID in settings! I've tried going to store and sign out and sign back in. Did not work!

When I do a ping from my computer it shows "ping: cannot resolve sync.ovi.com/: Unknown host".It's petty that so many services in Ovi remain unpredictable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was previously using E71 and recently switched to 5230 touch screen phone.One thing that i really find it difficult is to find contact in address book. The search function bring up entire A-Z keys in 2 pages so flipping through the character set is little annoying... further as u type.the key set narrows (good feature) but then u have to look hard for the next key as the position has changed.I wonder if the search functionality similar to N72 (t9) is implemented here so that all the keys are visibile on single screen...(in home screen the dialer is the best place to implement. as u type the character the address books gets filtered)..
The character set flipping and changing position every time takes lots of effort.i would rather like to use a fix character set (the standard number+abc keypad) on same screen and see the adress get filter insted of flipping pages and trying to see where the next char is.
May i request the moderator to pass this message to 5230 team so that they might consider this a new feature request and we might get this feature in next Firmware release.

Up until two months ago I was able to send emails from the iPhone to SEVERAL address at one time. The message I get is that the email address I am sending it to is not valid. When I click 'send anyway', it gives me the message "The mail server 'pop3.live.com' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account into the Mail settings." And the iPhone sends the message to my Outbox. I try it several times but it won't go out until I delete all but one address.
Interestingly, when the email goes out to one person with a cc to me, then I can forward the cc message to more than one person.

I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.
I'm trying to send email from iPhone 4, 1 sent, 2nd one did not. Got error message that said 'A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The sender address ______ was rejected by the server. Why did the 1st email go if they both had the same sender address?
