BB Tour 9630 :: Mail Icon But Have No New Mail
Jun 17, 2010My Blackberry Tour has been displaying the mail icon for the past few days, but I have no new mail. How do I get this to go away?

BB Tour 9630 :: Can't Get Yahoo Mail Icon On Phone
Apr 3, 2010I was having memory and battery issues so I reloaded the new OS. Now, I can not get the Yahoo mail icon back on my phone. I deleted the Gmail COD's because they supposedly cause a battery drain, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I have resent service books several times, and still nothing.

Mar 4, 2010I have 2 indicators showing telling me that I have an unopened email (closed envelope) and a download pending. I have gone through all my emails and downloads and nothing is pending....can't delete the notification symbols.Battery pull did.

Jan 12, 2010I have two mailboxes on my tour and on one of them it prompts me when I delete messages ie. "Handheld and mailbox, device only" but on the other it doesn't prompt me and it just deletes from the handheld itself. The settings are consistent between the two; both are set to not prompt and delete from the handheld only. But one "rogue mailbox" chooses not to follow this policy and continues to prompt me anyways. Anyone have a solution or a fix?

Jan 18, 2010I just got a Blackberry a few days ago (last Wednesday to be exact) and it really hasn't been too bad of a phone. I came from a HTC Diamond which I loved but I wanted something stable and good with battery life and so far once I killed the battery the usual three days and charging fully it has been lasting me great.
Anyway, the question was whether it's possible to automatically not include the original message on my phone when I reply to an e-mail or if there is a keyboard shortcut I missed that can do that for me. Basically to save twenty bucks a month I use Google Voice and it uses my e-mail address to text people and I don't want the original message at all and have to push the Blackberry menu button then scroll down to Delete Original Text then type my message then send it.I still haven't had a change to search for figuring out OS 5 or anything crazy like that yet but since I rolled WM 6.6 on my Diamond and kinda loved it I may soon. But so far 4.7 has been pretty stable.

Jan 12, 2010I added a new gmail address to my phone, before that, I had my work e-mail, a different gmail address and my blackberry e-mail.All e-mails went directly into the main mailbox.They also went into the separate folders for each specific e-mail address. so if I wanted to only look at e-mails from email address #1, I just had to look in that folder.Well it still works for the first 3 e-mail address, but since I added the new gmail account, the e-mails on the new account only go to the main e-mail message folder.So if I go to the separate folder for the new gmail account it shows no e-mails at all.But if I go to the main inbox, any new e-mails to that account are shown there.Does anyone know how to fix this?I have deleted and re-added this account at least 3 times, I have done everything I know and I still cannot get the e-mails to show up in the separate account folder!

Dec 1, 2014I have the iPhone 5c and am on IOS 8.1.1. When I get a voice mail, the voice mail icon no longer lights up. This has been since I updated to the latest version of IOS. I have to turn the phone off. When I turn the phone back on, the voice mail icon lights up. Is there a way to correct this?

Apr 12, 2010I have a Blackberry Pearl Flip 8230 by Verizon, and had to delete & resend my service books. Since then, my Yahoo! mail icon has been replaced with a generic Blackberry email icon. Based on suggestions I have seen online, I have tried removing and reinserting the battery, as well as deleting and re-adding the email account in the BIS website. Neither of these worked.

Jan 6, 2010I just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

Apr 30, 2010I've recently come upon a severely aggravating problem: I have a message notification icon that will just not go away. It shows that I have an unread message in my SMS/MMS, but there is nothing at all. I've marked all previous items as opened and even went so far as to delete all of my previous messages, but no dice. The rest of my notifications are working perfectly fine, appearing and disappearing as they should. Any suggestions or fixes? (And yes, of course I already tried a battery pull, I'm aware that's it is the BB panacea for all problems).

Jul 30, 2010Since last week, after I recieved an "event reminder" e-mail from a co-worker, I can NOT get the 1 new message symbol off of my phone. I have gone through ALL of my message folders for days now. I have pulled the battery 5 times. The stupid yellow message symbol with the number 1 WILL NOT GO AWAY! I don't know what to do.
Oh and another thing... after that day, when I try to put my phone on "silent" it still vibrates, and when I put it on "vibrate" it makes sounds!

Jun 7, 2010This is really bothering me.I have a yahoo mail account set up on my phone - It has been on there for over a year - it has always worked this way - If I get an email (the phone goes "bing") and i read it on the computer - and responded and delete it on the computer it would be removed from the phone the next time i looked. Recently I began noticing that the message is not being delated from the phone if I delete it from the mailbox, and I can't figure out why.
Basically I want to be able to read the message on the computer and hit delete and for it do the same thing on my blackberry and vise versa. Now it seems to work if I delete the message on the BB then it will not be in the Mailbox on the computer.

Mar 19, 2010I just sent an e-mail to myself from my blackberry and chose to send from my gmail account, but instead it just decided it might be better to send it from my work e-mail address? How do I fix this? It's absolutely unacceptable and I really hate to know who else now has my work e-mail address because of this. My phone tells me it sent from the correct e-mail address, but the address showing up in the e-mail where I received it says my work e-mail address was the sender.
If it was mixing up my gmail accounts that'd be irritating, but not a big deal - but the fact that it's just sending out of my work e-mail is a serious problem - does anyone know how to fix this?

1. how to set up hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail accounts along with official company mails which is already set up. important is to received online mails the i am receiving official mails on company account, means it rings when a mail hits inbox, i want the same for hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail?
2. how to play Internet on it, when i click on any Internet video, it asked, do you want to switch to wap to stream the video, when i say yes, it gives error message, if i am on wi-fi connection, even then it does not play any video, simply gives error message.

IPhone :: Mail App Regularly Requires Restart To Get Mail Flowing?
May 31, 2012My iphone mail app regularly requires restart to get mail flowing. That is it is running (doesn't crash) but will at time just stop getting email updates. I then have to force close the mail app (i.e. kill it) and then restart it. After restarting it the mail flows again.
Notes:
a) I do connect to Gmail for my mail - I'm using the IMAP facility for gmail currently (i.e. not the "Exchange" method)
b) I do also have the Google "Gmail" app running on my device too
c) on iPhone 3GS, latest version of IOS
