Can anyone tell me if the XpressMusic 5800 should have an audible alert say every minute or so to let me know I have a voice mail message, I know there is one when the message first arrives? Also the same for text messages, I know there is a flashing button, but I was hoping for an audible alert, not just for when it first arrives?
View 4 RepliesI've got a Nokia 5800 phone a few days ago. I'm trying to set the voice mail number using the standard procedure described in the user's guide. My carrier's voice mail number is *9 and when I try to set it I get an "invalid number" message. I've been reading a on the internet and it seems to be that numbers starting with a * have a special meaning on GSM phones and that is why it gets rejected. Is there an alternative way to set the voice mail number on a nokia 5800 phone?

I had a curve 8330, then 8350, then tour 9630 and all worked fine with all alerts incuding a VOICE MAIL ALERT...BUT THE Bold 9650 No such luck! what the heck...no more voice mail alerts? I have to look for that stupid smaller than small icon.

I am wondering if it is possible to customize the message alert tone for the Nokia 5800 with my own ringtones that I have purchased - not the default ones that come with the phone. I seem to be able to change the ringtone for calls with my own ringtone files but not for the message alerts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an 5800 xm blue. you could select message tone before but i turned it off only to vibrate. now i got this really cool tone I want to use but when switching msg tones back on it gives me a warning-----not enough memory to display all ringtones, only tones in read-only memory will be displayd. -------- why can't i select and set a msg tone in my music gallery like a ring tone? And how do i get the msg tones to work properly. My phone memory is 48mb free from 86mb?

Very nice phone. took some time to get the messaging to work.But still I only receive the new e-mail sound, but no new e-mail icon is shown.Also I noticed that when I use the messaging screen will my phone is closed the icon's on top (like the sync icon) is not shown. When I open my phone(pull out the keyboard) the icons are shown.Does anybody has the same problem or know how to solve it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the iPhone 5c and am on IOS 8.1.1. When I get a voice mail, the voice mail icon no longer lights up. This has been since I updated to the latest version of IOS. I have to turn the phone off. When I turn the phone back on, the voice mail icon lights up. Is there a way to correct this?

I have updated my 5800 and downloaded maps. I have installed uk maps on the phone but I have no voice guidance. In the settings menu under drive guidance it states 'none' but when I select download nothing happens. Can I get voice guidance online and transfer it to the phone. Also why did the maps software not come with it when I remember selecting english as an option in the install process when I used my computer to install it on the phone.

I've installed the Ovi Maps 2.0 and download, through the nokia program the maps for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese voice. During the "Drive"/"Walk" options in Ovi Maps, there is no voice. I don't know what to do. I've checked the updates on the phone software and map software through the computer and it says as the last version.

I've checked the forums and instruction manual but switching voice dialling (or commands) off doesn't seem to appear anywhere.

View 27 Replies View RelatedProblem observed by me on any firmware version, I'm using actually v 50.0.005 in my 5800XM.If you have over 200 e-mails in your mailbox on server and you have downloaded them into the phone (even only e-mails headers) then icon in upper right corner (that envelope with @ sign) doesn't want disappear. Only phone turn off then turn on is solution which is not so funny.Any ideas? Magic spells? Wake up developers! This bug? is very irritating.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed maps of Australia and the surfer dude voice using map loader. However my maps application did not detect any drive navigation voice. When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've just recently used the Voice recorder on my 5800 XpressMusic (FW 31.0.101) phone & I've notice something weird. If you select Options > Settings > Choose memory location > recording Quality > High
Then record something, then select 'Options' > 'Go To Gallery'
No mp4 files (the format 'high' is recorded in) are shown. Yet it's fine if you set Recording quality to 'Standard' (WAV) or ' MMS compatible' (AMR).
Is there a way to record multiple voice-mail's and then switch between the prerecorded voice-mails? Rather than having to record a new voicemail everytime I want to change it?

I have a the T-Mobile version of the 5230 (the Nuron). I assumed that the notification light would flash after someone left a voice mail. T-Mobile Customer Service claims the Nuron does not do this. Under the Settings-Phone-Notification Lights-Notification Light-Events Notified screen, there are 3 options that can be checked: Missed Call, New Message, New E-Mail. I had hoped "New Message" included voice messages as well as text messages, but I guess not.
This means that I would have to turn on the screen to check for voice mails if I stepped away from my phone. (Note: I do get a flashing notification light for missed calls and texts. However, the missed call flashes stop as soon as the "new voice mail" message appears on the screen.) I've tried a soft reset with no improvement.
I have a lumia 900. Is there a way to send certain calls right to voicemail? I use my cell phone for my business and I get telemarketing calls on occasion (Business phones are exempt from DNC). It's nice to send future calls right to voicemail. My android phone used to have this feature and I have tried with Nokia to no avail.

This is what I've done: In Settings Wizard, click Email Setup.
-Phone says "Allow application to use network to send or receive data?"
-I say "yes".
-Phone says "Testing network", then "Contacting email server".
-Phone gives me a screen with Yahoo, Gmail, Ovi etc.
-I click on Yahoo, then write my Yahoo email address.
-Phone says "Getting email settings", then "Unable to connect with the information provided. Please try again".
I have a Nokia 5800 which I use as my Sat Nav and MP3 player. I have just updated the maps and voice guidance files but there are no voice guidance files on the phone. When I select 'Drive Guidance' or 'Walk Guidance', I have no voices to choose from it just dsya 'NONE'.
