I have exchanged phones twice...been on tech support....and not am reaching out! HELP!!! I had a curve 8330, then 8350, then tour 9630 and all worked fine with all alerts incuding a VOICE MAIL ALERT...BUT THE Bold 9650 No such luck! what the heck...no more voice mail alerts? I have to look for that stupid smaller than small icon.

This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
I just got a bold 9650 and for the life of me can't figure out how to set up a tone to notify me when I have a new email. I used to have a Pearl which was much easier to navigate but my husband spilled beer on it and effectively destroyed the thing. I LOATHE having to reset all of my preferences, etc, and for some reason or other I can't seem to locate how to set a tone alert for new emails.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on my 4th 9650 ( Sprint ) Bold phone in 2 weeks .. for some reason or another the ringer tones are lower then the Curve I had prior to this. All 4 phones have had low volume in all the ringer modes and alert modes including BB messenger. I have tried everything possible to raise the volume with no luck. Sprint tells me this is as good as it gets and even the Sprint store demo phone was the same. I have the main ringer on loud and all the volumes modes for each ringer are on number 10. I had a Black Berry Curve Nextel push to talk before this and the ringer tones were a lot louder. This is driving me nuts as I have missed calls. I have tried at least 10 different tones and they all are not what I would call loud. Can some one help me out here?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon Bold 9650 in June when they first came out. About 3 weeks after I received my blackberry, I started having some alarm issues. The issues are:
1) The alarm goes off, but no sound nor vibration is produced (it only shows the Snooze/Dismiss Dialogue)
2) Occasionally, it will start sounding off and vibrating 5 minutes after the alarm is scheduled to go off.
3) The same symptoms from #2 apply when i press "snooze".....
I have the latest software and have repeatedly reformatted the memory cards and wiped the device. Another issue I have been having is that when I try to play music it will sometimes say "Cannot play music while alert is active". I can get around this by opening and closing the camera, but I was hoping there is a more permanent fix.
I already get a vm symbol showing me I have vm but i get a text message too? How can i go in and disable? I have tried going into profiles but nothing seems to work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.
My 9650 Bold has stopped recognizing word or name prompts for voice dialing. It still works for phone numbers but not names like "John Smith" or words like "home". My dealer tried to correct it by removing the battery and restarting the phone. When it starts it shows a java uncaught exception for java.lang.NullPointerException

Would be interested in your comments on the voice quality (call clarity, etc) of the BB Bold 9650...both in the ear speaker and to those with whom you are talking. I had heard that the voice quality was not so good on the prior Tour model and also found this to be true on an in-store test at Verizon. Would like to know your thoughts about how it is on the newer model Bold 9650.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to make a call while wi-fi was on and connected, it wouldn't go through. likewise, when someone tried to call me when wi-fi was on, they went straight to voicemail. i tested it when i got home and same thing...wi-fi on, no voice. wi-fi off, voice calls work just fine.the only think i can think of is that i have skype installed but not logged in yet, so maybe it's trying to make calls that way? i'm going to be kinda bummed if i have to turn off wi-fi to use the phone.

Today both data and voice shut off. I was not able to restore connections. The only way to get them back working was to go in settings, mobile networks, then perform diagnostic test which usually fixes the issue. I was told today by a VZW rep that this is happening because I have wifi turned on. Is this correct?
I have cleared my e-mail in box, but can not get the e-mail icon on the top bar of the main screen to go away. It is still showing 1 e-mail, but there are none in my box. I turned it on and off and rebooted, but it is still there, showing 1 e-mail, but there are none. Is there a hidden e-mail somewhere I am missing. Also had a few random reboots. Brand new 9650 from Verizon.

When I switch the phone on I recieve 1 possibly 2 calls then all further calls go to voicemail, I dont get any notifications that I have voicemail and don't know unless I call 1 or 901. If I turn the phone off and on again It then repeats the process. It appears to forward all calls to voicemail after a couple of hours. Call Forwarding is set to Conditional and does not change. I have reset to factory settings but it still does it.
