Would be interested in your comments on the voice quality (call clarity, etc) of the BB Bold 9650...both in the ear speaker and to those with whom you are talking. I had heard that the voice quality was not so good on the prior Tour model and also found this to be true on an in-store test at Verizon. Would like to know your thoughts about how it is on the newer model Bold 9650.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI plug my Bold up to my PC in Mass Storage Mode.I then copy the files from my PC to my Blackberry SDcard.
When I try to view the photos on my phone, I'm unable to right away.The new photos will not show until the phone rescans the entire SDcad for photos. This can take up to a minute or so. This is very annoying.
My 9650 Bold has stopped recognizing word or name prompts for voice dialing. It still works for phone numbers but not names like "John Smith" or words like "home". My dealer tried to correct it by removing the battery and restarting the phone. When it starts it shows a java uncaught exception for java.lang.NullPointerException
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a Blue Ant Q1 Blue Tooth headset and updated to the latest firmware on it. Now when I tell the Blue Ant Voice command the command 'Phone prompt' it connects with my Blackberry Torch 9800 Nuance Voice command option with no problems.Now when I tell the Nuance voice command the numbers of a phone number I want to call, it will repeat it back to me to verifying the number. Now the numbers are clear when the voice command repeats the number I want to call.I swear it really sounds like the very first computer voice ever created, it's all garbled and muddy like. No real clarity in what it is repeating back to me.It is very hard to make out what the voice command is repeating back to me to verify the word I used to describe the number I want it to call.Now, I shut off my Blue Ant Blue Tooth headset and tried the Nuance voice commands with my phone only and I get the same poor quality computer animated voice issues coming out of my Blackberry Torch 9800.Is this normal, I sure hope not, after purchasing what I consider a top quality cell phone. I would expect more clarity with this software from Blackberry and Nuances.This is the one feature that I really need for a cell phone to perform well for me, since I am on the road a lot for my business and needs handsfree dialing.

I had a curve 8330, then 8350, then tour 9630 and all worked fine with all alerts incuding a VOICE MAIL ALERT...BUT THE Bold 9650 No such luck! what the heck...no more voice mail alerts? I have to look for that stupid smaller than small icon.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI tried to make a call while wi-fi was on and connected, it wouldn't go through. likewise, when someone tried to call me when wi-fi was on, they went straight to voicemail. i tested it when i got home and same thing...wi-fi on, no voice. wi-fi off, voice calls work just fine.the only think i can think of is that i have skype installed but not logged in yet, so maybe it's trying to make calls that way? i'm going to be kinda bummed if i have to turn off wi-fi to use the phone.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been having a issue lately with my voice service turning off. The first time I was not able to make calls however could use data. Today both data and voice shut off. I was not able to restore connections. The only way to get them back working was to go in settings, mobile networks, then perform diagnostic test which usually fixes the issue. I was told today by a VZW rep that this is happening because I have wifi turned on. Is this correct?
I am no longer getting a "Voice Mail" notification in my message list. I get the VM icon at the top of the screen but it's so small sometimes I don't notice it. Is this an OS 5.0 issue? Is there a setting I need to change? I searched the forums and also the ? on the device.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I have been getting a problem with my 9700 Blackberry. When I make or receive calls, I can not hear anything out of my handset. The person on the other line can hear fine (Usually with me going Hello Hello a million times!) The only time I can hear anything is when I have my bluetooth on or switching it to speakerphone.
I tried doing the soft reset (battery pull when the phone was still on) ...still nothing. Although it did work a couple of times. Its on and off, but recently the situation has gone from bad to worse.Anyone out there with the 9700 with the same issue? It's really annoying and I do use the phone a lot for important calls.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a E52 with current FW and a T-Online VoIP account over a WLan connection served by a Speedport W900V WLan router connected to a 16.000k DSL. SIP seems to work fine, I can call out and receive calls. Incoming speech quality is fine. Problem is outgoing voice quality: This already starts with a bad quality (choppy) during the first seconds of the call and then detoriates with every further second. After approx 10-15 seconds the other party will hear only choppy unintelligble noise. The (repeatable) characteristic effect is that outgoing voice starts with acceptable quality and then over time gets worse, beeing un-understandable after 10-15 seconds.
Bandwith, jitter and QoS of the DSL line seem to be ok, VoIP telephony over a Speedport-connected telephone is great. I tried the NOKIA VoIP Settings Tool and with its help all available codecs without success. WLan reception of the E52 is very good.
I can't hear on my phone - if it is sprint to sprint carrier it is not so bad but land line or Verison I can't hear and caller can't hear me either - is there a software fix for this?

People that I've called seem to think it's acceptable now (haven't been asked to repeat myself), but if asked to choose, they do still believe that the "off" setting provides a better sounding voice, i.e. less muffled.

Send the phone for repair 3 times! Sony service center even change mother board and casing but voice quality is ok sometimes but break up most of the time. My sister's Z2 though she say got not issue but at times voice sound distance too.

On my end, I get a weird feedback/static at end of people's words/sentences and it seems to be picking up background noise over the person's words. My photon is my first Android phone. I'm generally happy but have to say that voice recognition is atrocious. It's effectively unusable. It can't even recognize me saying "yes".My previous phones were a WinMo Treo Pro, preceded by a Palm OS Treo 750. Both had decent voice recognition. I was actually impressed with the WinMo recognition quality, although the functionality was limited.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is 3 days old and did not have issues until last night. The browser allows me to initally connect ot a webpage, but will not allow me to click on any links. The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?
View 8 Replies View Relatedno matter what settings I use on the 9650 "Memory" settings. I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas?

Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.
