Have had the 9650 for a week, so far so good. Does anyone know if there is a way to get an audible alert and a notice to my messages that a voicemail is waiting ? I believe my curve used to do this. Not looking for the app you can buy re: missed calls.....just if there is a voicemail waiting.
View 4 RepliesThis is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
I just got a bold 9650 and for the life of me can't figure out how to set up a tone to notify me when I have a new email. I used to have a Pearl which was much easier to navigate but my husband spilled beer on it and effectively destroyed the thing. I LOATHE having to reset all of my preferences, etc, and for some reason or other I can't seem to locate how to set a tone alert for new emails.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I both got the 9700 this past weekend. Mine works great but unfortunately, his voicemail notification does not work. We've tried adding visual voicemail, removing visual voicemail, adding it again, removing it again, resetting to network with Customer Care. My husband doesn't even care about VVM. He just needs regular voicemail notification. And yes, the voicemail works properly and the notification has worked perfectly fine through the years on his 8900, his old 8320, his old Pearl, etc.
Yesterday I called Customer Care and the CSR rep said all we had to do was go to the home screen --> hit menu --> scroll and click on messages --> hit menu --> scroll and click on voicemail setup --> scroll to notifications --> choose ON, then save or done. Sounds simple enough. Unfortunately, when I followed his steps and went to the home screen and hit menu, there is no "messages" in the menu. If I go to the messages icon, I can get to message alerts for all messages but there is no voicemail setup.
our new BB Bold 9650 does not dial the correct number when using the voice dialing to access the voicemail. It goes to 86, instead of *86.Using the 1 speed dial key works correct.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just upgrades from a Curve 8330 to a Bold 9650 on Sprint an am not getting voicemail notifications. On the Curve they showed up in the SMS/MMS app and, more importantly, sounded a notification when a message was received. On the Bold there is no notification, only the number on the main screen incrementing by one.I get SMS messages on the Bold with the number (unchanged), but nothing for vm's. A search turned up the same problem posted in many other places, but never a solution.Surely voicemail notification didn't go away with OS5.

I had a curve 8330, then 8350, then tour 9630 and all worked fine with all alerts incuding a VOICE MAIL ALERT...BUT THE Bold 9650 No such luck! what the heck...no more voice mail alerts? I have to look for that stupid smaller than small icon.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am on my 4th 9650 ( Sprint ) Bold phone in 2 weeks .. for some reason or another the ringer tones are lower then the Curve I had prior to this. All 4 phones have had low volume in all the ringer modes and alert modes including BB messenger. I have tried everything possible to raise the volume with no luck. Sprint tells me this is as good as it gets and even the Sprint store demo phone was the same. I have the main ringer on loud and all the volumes modes for each ringer are on number 10. I had a Black Berry Curve Nextel push to talk before this and the ringer tones were a lot louder. This is driving me nuts as I have missed calls. I have tried at least 10 different tones and they all are not what I would call loud. Can some one help me out here?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon Bold 9650 in June when they first came out. About 3 weeks after I received my blackberry, I started having some alarm issues. The issues are:
1) The alarm goes off, but no sound nor vibration is produced (it only shows the Snooze/Dismiss Dialogue)
2) Occasionally, it will start sounding off and vibrating 5 minutes after the alarm is scheduled to go off.
3) The same symptoms from #2 apply when i press "snooze".....
I have the latest software and have repeatedly reformatted the memory cards and wiped the device. Another issue I have been having is that when I try to play music it will sometimes say "Cannot play music while alert is active". I can get around this by opening and closing the camera, but I was hoping there is a more permanent fix.
I already get a vm symbol showing me I have vm but i get a text message too? How can i go in and disable? I have tried going into profiles but nothing seems to work.

The alert tone was not one that I have set or recognize, and I was only able to view "iPhone alert" before frantically turning it off. Does anyone know what causes these embarrassing audible alerts while in silent mode or know of a way to check past alerts?

My iPhone 4s spends most of its life in silet mode, but I need all text messages to be obnoxious so that they will make me. When I had a BLackberry I could set different message notification types for example I can always have text messages loud but could silence anything else. I'm toying aroudn with setting the contact SMS to be the Alarm tone but I'm not sure how this iwll work when I have it in silent...
I've read articles on Google where I'm not the only person seeking this functionality; the most recent article was a doctor that was on-call. While I'm not a doctor, I do work an on-call position.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.
Trying to create filters for audible email alert messages; but when I do, all urgent emails are notifying me.

It even does it in "vibrate" mode. When I go to the options menu I get alert sounds for email, level 1, PIN and text. How do I turn off voice mail notification?

Now all I get is the little voicemail icon at the top of my screen but no sound or vibration or anything. I've been looking for an answer to my issue on the forums but it seems like I'm the only person that likes the SMS alert, everybody else wants to turn it off.

The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?
View 8 Replies View Relatedno matter what settings I use on the 9650 "Memory" settings. I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas?

Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.
