Sep 15, 2010I already get a vm symbol showing me I have vm but i get a text message too? How can i go in and disable? I have tried going into profiles but nothing seems to work.

Jun 26, 2010This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.

Jun 22, 2010I just got a bold 9650 and for the life of me can't figure out how to set up a tone to notify me when I have a new email. I used to have a Pearl which was much easier to navigate but my husband spilled beer on it and effectively destroyed the thing. I LOATHE having to reset all of my preferences, etc, and for some reason or other I can't seem to locate how to set a tone alert for new emails.

May 22, 2010I have exchanged phones twice...been on tech support....and not am reaching out! HELP!!! I had a curve 8330, then 8350, then tour 9630 and all worked fine with all alerts incuding a VOICE MAIL ALERT...BUT THE Bold 9650 No such luck! what the heck...no more voice mail alerts? I have to look for that stupid smaller than small icon.

Jun 27, 2010I am on my 4th 9650 ( Sprint ) Bold phone in 2 weeks .. for some reason or another the ringer tones are lower then the Curve I had prior to this. All 4 phones have had low volume in all the ringer modes and alert modes including BB messenger. I have tried everything possible to raise the volume with no luck. Sprint tells me this is as good as it gets and even the Sprint store demo phone was the same. I have the main ringer on loud and all the volumes modes for each ringer are on number 10. I had a Black Berry Curve Nextel push to talk before this and the ringer tones were a lot louder. This is driving me nuts as I have missed calls. I have tried at least 10 different tones and they all are not what I would call loud. Can some one help me out here?

Jul 25, 2010I bought a Verizon Bold 9650 in June when they first came out. About 3 weeks after I received my blackberry, I started having some alarm issues. The issues are:
1) The alarm goes off, but no sound nor vibration is produced (it only shows the Snooze/Dismiss Dialogue)
2) Occasionally, it will start sounding off and vibrating 5 minutes after the alarm is scheduled to go off.
3) The same symptoms from #2 apply when i press "snooze".....
I have the latest software and have repeatedly reformatted the memory cards and wiped the device. Another issue I have been having is that when I try to play music it will sometimes say "Cannot play music while alert is active". I can get around this by opening and closing the camera, but I was hoping there is a more permanent fix.
BB Bold 9650 :: 9650 - How To Save SMS Text To Draft?
Jul 8, 2010I purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.

Jul 17, 2010I'm having an issue with custom alerts that are set with some people and the active profile setting. here's what's going on...i have custom ringers on a few family members and since some of the ringers are low in volume, i set the volume individually. today i had to go to a memorial service and i decided to make sure my phone was on silent so i don't have my phone going on in the middle of the service. i set my profile to silent, called myself using my dad's phone and what do i hear, his ringer! i did a battery pull...same thing. i tried to call myself using my dad's phone again, but this time using *67 and no ringtone, just showed that i had a call coming through. with no time on my hands before heading out the door, i just turned off my phone.
Now i found an alternative, but not quite a solution...i can have custom ringtones for people, but not change the volume and whatever profile is set will happen. is there a better way? did i receive a faulty device, although i think it's more a software issue.
Nokia :: N97 Won't Alert To New Text Message

It is set to play a sound (message 1), and i've had it for months it used to beep normally but now it doesn't anymore. and the phone is not on silent. It doesn't show the new message icon either. Only way I know I've got a new message is by going into the messages screen and seeing the red inbox sign.

Jul 21, 2010Ok so really a bit frustrating there REALLY should be an option to turn on and off email accounts. Its kinda ridiculous that you have to go through a bunch of steps and jump through hoops the turn off an email account. Or just delete it. When Im at work I dont need to emails to go to the phone and I just end having to delete a bunch of them. Ok rant off heres my problem. I looked in the BB instruction to stop forwarding message to my phone and it told me how to do it. It says go into messages, then open the menu, go to options, email settings and tell the phone to stop forwarding emails. Problem is I don't have that option. Whats the deal?By the way I tried to get into my BIS account online and it said It wasn't available and I had to access settings on the phones.

As since the answer is likely still no, why do you think Apple still hasn't implemented this, especially since we now have iOS4? My concern is because while I love the default (tri-tone I think it's called), with so many friends and family with iPhones, it starts to get confusing for people (since nearly everyone around me uses this one as the others are meh).
BB Bold 9650 :: Cannot Disable Autotext For Email?
Aug 18, 2010Can't disable this for email, just sms, etc.how it's annoying is when i try to abbreviate something like "MN" for Minnesota; i'll type MN and it'll change it to MINUTE. quite annoying. i know i can hit del after and it'll get rid of it, but it's not as smooth as it sounds, and seems to keep a space after, or input a period, or something unnatural.it seems to me the only way to disable this is to physically delete the entry in the autotext entries, but that is rather permanent, Why they don't make a disable autotext option for email but for everything else is beyond me.any suggestions for me?

However this morning I put my phone on mute and when i received a text message my phone chimes. Jul 4, 2010I have never posted on anything like this before so please bear with me.I have a new 6700 slide, but there are 2 things I can't get used to, having had a Samsung phone before.
1. (The worst thing) - if a text comes in, and I don't happen to hear the buzzy tone thing, then I don't get another reminder, and there is no visible sign on the phone that there is a new message unless I open the slide. Even then it doesn't tell me who the message is from and I have to go to the inbox. Is there a way of getting more than one alert? I really don't like this.
2. Every time I turn the phone on it asks me to set up my email preferences. I don't want to use it for email but even if I cancel it, it asks me again next time I turn it on. Can I stop it asking once and for all?
3. Is there a way of marking text messages for deletion, without having to mark just one (very time consuming) or all (which you might not want to do)?
I would be really grateful for any help on one or all of these questions. I really wanted a Nokia but now I am pining for my Samsung.
