Aug 18, 2010The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

Jun 4, 2013HTC ONE. With the Stock Messaging app on the phone, I like it and all but I have a small gripe about it. I don't get message previews on the lock screen when I get a message. Yes I know, maybe it's disabled to save on battery life, but battery life is not an issue for me on this phone. Anyways, the only way I can get a message preview on lock screen is if I use CHOMP SMS messaging app. I dont like it, I prefer the stock one, but I leave it on so that I can get previews on my lock screen. Any way to maybe Enable the feature so that I can see a preview of my text on the lock screen?

Jul 15, 2011My Torch 9800 has developed a weird problem with the text icon on the home screen. When I tap on it, my desktop messages open instead?it used to work fine when I first got the phone. The only way I can write a text is to select a contact from the contacts list and then select to send that person a text message. This all works but is a pain. I'm sure this is just finger trouble and a setting has been changed somewhere but where.

What was the point of having a lock application if your personal text are displayed on the screen before it? Please dont tell me to turn off the notification in the text settings cause that happens to for some odd reason be linked to the audible txt notification as well so if you turn off "display notification" it kills the sound that you have a txt as well.I would happily download an app if it clears up this weird quirk. When I receive a new message (sms or mms) from a specific contact, the message shows in my text message folder (along with others I've received and am able to open and see), but when I open it to read the full message, it just shows the grey screen and all previous messages also doesn't show.I've deleted the entire conversation and would be able to read 1 or 2 new messages afterwards and then at some point when I receive or send a new message, everything will dissappear again.I've removed the battery, marked all as unopened, changed options settings such as combine sequintial, autoscale images, leave messages on sim, etc. but nothing works.

Dec 15, 2015When I get a new text or email if I unlock my phone and touch the email or message app and read or delete it, it still shows the notification in the upper left. If I then lock my phone and unlock it again it still shows the notification on the lock screen. I have gone and cleared the cache and data from the message app and restarted. The only way it goes away is if I swipe it away on the lock screen or select it from the lock screen and view/delete after it opens.

Aug 25, 2010Whenever I receive a text message from a sender like American Airlines where their name/number is a random set of numbers, it will not remove itself from the home page list even if I delete it. If I select it after I have deleted it, it's just a blank message. Any ideas as to how to resolve this? The only thing that has worked for me so far is to reset the phone. I don't want to have to do that each time a message of this type comes in to my inbox.

Jun 2, 2012I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
