Default Icon Mail always appear Lost on my phone. My C3-00 lost icon Mail, how to restore it? It very important, I need it and I don't want restore my phone return default.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy N900 has Scandinavian (Finnish) keyboard. After installing a couple of games(Duke nukem 3d and Abuse) and I think one of these probably crashed, it got left in US keyboard mode (I think). I see that there is a new file created called /home/user/int_kb_layout that has string "us" inside it. Just deleting this file and restarting the phone does not help. Searching around I find that perhaps some tool called /usr/bin/gconftool-2 might need to be used, but I got more confused. Therefore I might ask in general how one can get back their default keyboard maps for their N900?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI lost the Ovi store icon from my phone today. I can see Ovi store app when I check application manager>installed apps. But it is not there in the menu. So I cant access it by any means. I tried installing the new qml store client. Even that gets installed but not available thru menu. I can confirm it is installed in the phone memory as I can see it in the installed apps list. But no way I can use it since there is no icon for it. Also I have lost my internet search engine which is used to search web content thru native browser.

I have following problem:on my N97mini i have installed MfE and it works. But when I receive an email and i read it in outlook or OWA the "new Mail icon" on my N97mini doesn't disappear. It shows that I have a new email but when I click on it there is no new email.The icon only disappears when i reboot my N97mini.

It only works for default mail services, but if I want to setup other email accounts, I need some way to enter IMAP/POP servers, ports, etc. If I choose "Other" in mail client, I can only enter mail address and password. Then I see message that connection can not be established. I expect to have an ability to enter all mail setting myself, but can't find any way to do it. It is really desappointing.

After update all messages are erased and she had important information there. I installed Ovi Suite on Mac and downloaded extra support for C7, but I couldn't restore that information. She never installed Ovi Suite on her PC. My question is: is she installs Ovi Suite for PC on her laptop, will she be able to restore old messages? I recently switched to Belle as well on my Nokia N8, but I'm not that crazy about old messages, so I haven't noticed it. Now after the update the Nokia Mail does not open anymore. When I push the Mail-button on my C3-00 it shows "opening mail" and then NOKIA "Loading Mail", the white screen with the yellow envelope. But then nothing happens anymore. The screen stays this way FOREVER. It does not freeze, I can exit the application YES/or NO.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday the software update Nokia Belle for C7 was approved for my region. I installed it instantly by following the instructions. After the update my device worked well, but I noticed some things that may point to a software problem on the device. I decided to reinstall it. I followed the instructions, the Nokia Suite checked and found the installation file on my PC and the reinstallation began normally. A backup was made of my contacts and other stuff, then the installation began.
Not long after that the Suit says that the connection to my device is lost (not a windows warning). It suggested several things to do to continue, but it couldn't. Currently my C7 is not working. I tried to remove and put back the battery & recharge it but still can't start the phone. When I plug it to my PC via USB, I hear the windows sound for USB device connected and disconnected after that. The only living sign of my device is the little white light, next to the USB port, which is blinking when I plug the charger and try turn the phone On.
I've deleted my quickoffice in my c6. Will hard reset or soft reset will restore it back?

1) The factory reset has two options - Factory Reset and Factory Reset with Data. What is the difference between the two? Factory Reset = What settings are reset? I assume all installed applications / data is maintained? Factory Reset and Data = I assume this is similar to the other reset but it also removes all custom data from the two internal memory areas (phone and mass memory)? Am I right in thinking that anything on the micro SD card is kept?
2) Phone Back up & Restore? Does anyone know what data/settings are backed up and can be restored? As an example, if I performed a full backup of my phone (including music and ringtones) and then did a full factory reset including data, would the restore put my phone back in exactly the same postition I was in when the phone was backed up and before the factory reset? Does this include homescreen and menu format changes? On my 6700 the restore would only restore apps / settings but not menu structure and I had to reinstall apps installed on my external memory stick (such as Opera).
After I updated my E52 software the phone seems to have lost it's mail for exchange client. Setting up webbased email accounts like hotmail is no problem (though through Nokia Messaging), but when when I try to setup my work email it just tell me that the unit does not support any more accounts for workrelated e-mails (I don't have any option to choose mail for exchange).Before the update I had an option to choose to choose mail for exchange and it would ask me for domain and server and everything and it was no problem.As mail for exchange is supposed to be integrated in the E52 as part of nokias new emailing software (as far as I can read), I am not able to download and install the mail for exchange client separately (and I have tried by the way, but it refuses to install).Has anybody experienced similar problems after the software update, and/or do you have any solutions?

Then after restoring the theme become gray and other features gone, and the worse thing that I cant use the internet although I have wifi connection. The goto address and other menu in the internet gone, the only remaining is home, browser and web services.
When I click home it says check home page address, when I click browser, it doesn't work
also the web services. The community, ovi store, and other features gone, all tones gone, all themes, all games gone, nothing left.
I lost all nokia N8 widgets including Music store after I hard reset my N8. I have really been searching but have been unable to find a work around for this. I am unable to play any OVI music on my phone as it searched for a license and ends up saying that this is not my registered device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a hard reset of my N8 I tried to restore my contacts from OVI Sync.But for some strange reason contacts that have only "Phone (work)" as a number loose the number (all other details are restored). But they end up without any phone number Contact that have additional info (like "Mobile phone") don't loose the "Phone (work)". Also some of the "standard" settings are lost (as they are when syncing with OVI Suite).Very annoying since you then have to choose number or address when calling/smsing.
