My n8 only vibrates once when on silent. It is not very noticable and I would like it to vibrate several times. Am I able to change this?
Also is it possible to change the force of the vibrate as it seems quite weak compared to the n97?

1. Lock the phone.
2. Send a text message to your number (Nokia N8).
3. When the text message is recieved the screen of the N8 displays the work "popUpClock" in the top left corner and the "time, Battery, and signal" icons on the right top corner.
4. The above message disappears in a split second and the screen remains blank for almost 2-3 mins before shutting off again.The best way to check the duration of the blank screen displayed is to keep the phone in dark.This bug could be one of the reasons for the battery draining for some users who recieve loads of text messages in a day.

View 5 Replies View Relatedsince updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts.

Yesterday my N8 stopped vibrating when it recieved a text message , I enabled vibration alert in the profile and checked if it was a hardware problem by calling . The phone vibrates when it gets a call but it doesn't vibrate when a message comes ! I did not install advanced battery monitor also ! I reset my phone and re-installed the latest firmware also , but still the problem persists

It is set to play a sound (message 1), and i've had it for months it used to beep normally but now it doesn't anymore. and the phone is not on silent. It doesn't show the new message icon either. First of all is the annoying vibration every time you touch the screen or any side buttons.Can the vibration be disabled? Secondly, I hate the default touch screen functions like music, video and pictures. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have never posted on anything like this before so please bear with me.I have a new 6700 slide, but there are 2 things I can't get used to, having had a Samsung phone before.
1. (The worst thing) - if a text comes in, and I don't happen to hear the buzzy tone thing, then I don't get another reminder, and there is no visible sign on the phone that there is a new message unless I open the slide. Even then it doesn't tell me who the message is from and I have to go to the inbox. Is there a way of getting more than one alert? I really don't like this.
2. Every time I turn the phone on it asks me to set up my email preferences. I don't want to use it for email but even if I cancel it, it asks me again next time I turn it on. Can I stop it asking once and for all?
3. Is there a way of marking text messages for deletion, without having to mark just one (very time consuming) or all (which you might not want to do)?
I would be really grateful for any help on one or all of these questions. I really wanted a Nokia but now I am pining for my Samsung.
I have just moved from LG touch (hated it) to a very basic Nokia 2220. Previously had Samsung before.
With the 2220, when I receive a text I have set the tone I want however I cannot find if this phone will allow the tone to sound after every two minutes. All my previous phones have had this facility which I like as if you don't hear the notification sound at first it alerts you every two minutes.Is it just this phone or are all Nokia's like this?
