Nokia Lumia :: Unwanted Gmail Repeat Notifications?
Dec 26, 2012
I have my gmail account set up on my phone that updates every 30 mins, however every time it checks and I have an unread message it gives me a sound notification. This would be all good except I receive a daily email around 1.30am which disturbs me sometimes. how I can change this, I've tried everything I can think of? I have a Nokia Lumia 800.
In Nokia Music the only option is to repeat the whole album or playlist but not repeating a particular song like zune player could? this is something cann be done quite easily
I cannot find how to set up a repeat SMS tone for missed messages. It means you have to keep checked your phone all the time to make sure you have not mssied anything. Does anyone know how to do this? The tones on the phone are not load or long enough either.
I use the Calendar application often. I set up reminders for tasks. When the task is scheduled, a reminder pops up, and the phone rings. Is there a way to make this ringing repeat (say, every 5 minutes) until I dismiss the reminder? The reason is, if I go out and the phone rings while I'm out, there is no visible indication that something happened while I was away. The screen is blank and the LED is not flashing. So I have to activate the phone and manually check whether there were notifications while I was gone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I would like to know if I can set the message received notification to repeat itself so if I am away from my phone and missed the original notification it will continue to notify me until I acknowledge it.
i have removed all unwanted notifications from my facebook mobile app but they are all still in my messages folder on my handset and i cannot delete any of them.
The update to ICS has added some annoying notifications that I would like to turn off, if anybody knows how. I included a screen shot showing them.
Anytime the keyboard is up, there is a notification asking if I want to change input methods Whenever GPS is on, it adds another notification that does nothing more than take me to GPS settings
Does anybody know how to turn either of these off? I would like to keep my notifications as clutter-free as possible.
I'm having issues in getting my contacts from my GMail account to my new Lumia 800. I find lots of references telling me to go to 'm.google.com/sync' on my phone but this just ends up in a loop (it redirects me to a page which says to visit [URL]
I also have the contacts in vcf format but again, can't find anything relating to importing these to the Lumia.
It's a great phone so far, but ultimately pretty useless if I can't get any contacts in there!
I'm unable to properly set up either of my Gmail accounts. My Yahoo and other Pop account are fine, but with Gmail the password changes to a longer set of characters, and only one/no emails load/s.I've tried deleting the accounts and setting them up again, to no avail.
im am trying to hide SMS notification on the Display of my Nokia Lumia 800, because if i leave my Phone somewhere one the Table, everybody can read my sms and the sender. That is making me really nervous and i have always to hide my phone in my pocket. I searched over internet and in discussion board, also on troubleshooting page, but still couldn't find any help. Im using more than 12 years only Nokia and until now, i haven't experience any trouble like this. But since windows phone, i think everything is more complicated with Nokia Phones.
I have a Nokia Lumia 820 from ATT. So I cant seem to get voicemail notifications unless i have my data connection. I usually leave it off so I was wondering if there is a way to get voicemail notifications without leaving my data on all the time.
We cant get Facebook notifications. We get the Alert on the Me tile but when we get into the NOtifications section and click onthe notification we get the following message - "Cant get Picture. It may be a connection issue (You can try again Later) Someone else's Picture? It maybe an issue with their privacy settings"All other sections of the Facebook integrations work fins, apps, email, browsing all works fine.Internet works perfect, dont know what the issue is with the Notifications, even if it is my own Picture.
I have a lumia 800. I set up my gmail account on the phone, but none of my mails seem to be coming through. What would people recommend as the best way to try and get my gmail to come through properly? Is it likely to just be the server settings that need a tweak?
I've got a Lumia 800 that wont connect to Gmail. I get the following message:"m.google.com is currently unavailable. Try again later." and the error code 85010017.
I've tried 2 SIMs and a couple of different wifi networks, but all give this error. This happens both when using the windows phone wizard for Gmail, or by trying to set it up as an outlook exchange server. I can connect to Gmail using it's POP servers, but that sucks as I would like to have push email and have my Google contacts and calendars synced!
I can't seem to get facebook app notifications to work on my Nokia Lumia 920. I've selected 'toasts and tile count' and all the boxes underneath are ticked, yet i still don't recieve notifications. Even on my lock screen i don't recieve notifications.
So im not reciving any update notifications for any apps. If i go to the Store there is no notifications but if i got to an app like "Nokia Maps" there will be an update. Also I dont recive any of the updates for "Extras+info" that i keep hearing about. I know some people are saying to go to windowsphone.com and force the update from Puchased apps but it doesnt show up there.
Attached is my "Extras+Info" information. Iv tried factory reseting my phone too.
I have the facebook notification settings set to "toast and tile count" and all boxes ticked (including "message"). But I do not get any notifications or a tile count when I get my friend to send me a test message. I waited over an hour on two occasions. Then going into the facebook app after the hour, the messages are there and waiting. Is it because I have facebook linked in the people hub as well as the FB installed? (which also doesn't give me any alerts incidentally)?I've tried all the usuals, reboot, battery pull, airplan mode on and off, etc.
As of a couple of days ago, I haven't been receiving messaging notifications.I still recieve the message, they just don't show up on the live tile, the lock screen or make a sound. Also, whenever I recieve a call, I don't get their caller ID. It just shows a number even though I definitely have them on my contacts.I'm using a Lumia 920?
I am not able to use the service providers USSD services on Nokia LUMIA 800.pecifically TaTa Docomo *191# gives a list of options to know balance, validity etc. Also I am not able to receive summary notifications sent by the service provider after each call/sms etc.Is it a known windows bug ? Anybody facing the similar problem? Also feel this is related to the LUMIA call ending bug /t5/Nokia-with-Windows-Phone/Can-t-end-a-call-in-lumia-800/m-p/1283747#M5533
Why is Windows Phone having version 7.5 if it still can't set different volumes for music and notifications... When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?
I want to use a different email app other than Gmail. I know to use an Android phone, you have to sign in with Gmail. My question is, if using an email app other than Gmail how do I stop the notifications from coming to my phone through Gmail? I am getting Gmail notifications as I should and also MyMail notifications. I just wanted to stop the Gmail email notifications.
Not necessarily specific to the M8 but maybe in the settings somewhere. How do I get notifications for gmail without the LED blinking? I only want LED to blink for text messages and missed calls.
I searched settings in gmail but couldn't find anything.
I'm using this blackberry without a data plan primarily for text and talk and do not need a data plan ( i know this means i can't use most apps.. i might get one later though ) but in the mean time how do i get gmail push notifications? right now i use the Browser to access my email, but is there an app i can use so i don't have to?
I have uninstalled the "SMS + Call Filter" app (had to do this through Storage settings - what's up with that?), and reinstalled the SMS + Call Filter app using the SysAppPusher app. It still fails when I try to use it: "Something went wrong"
If I long-press a number in Call History, it allows me to process that number. However, the number really isn't blocked - it continues to ring.
From reading Windows Central forum posts, as well as other fora, this appears to be a prevalent problem with the 950 and Windows Mobile.
All my other live tiles:Exchange (main inbox)HotmailLinked Inbox (8 services, including other GMail accounts)SMSAre reporting new messages on the lock screen, but a live tile for another single GMail account is not. Any clue as to why that 's the case? I already tried removing and re-adding the account.
For some reason I am not getting any notifications for incoming emails with the GMAIL app///I have an alternate Gmail address setup with mail app and i do receive notifications from that app letting me know I have new emails. I have gone through and made sure i have the sync settings activated...
Ever since I installed the latest software update for HTC one a few days ago which rectified calling issues, I no longer get notifications for facebook messenger or gmail. In fact Gmail is no longer pushed and requires manual refresh. I've checked the settings for sync, restarted my phone and even uninstalled and re installed.
