View 13 RepliesI've had my phone for a couple of days, and I noticed I don't get notifications for Gmail. I do get a beep, but I don't get anything visual. (What if I didn't hear the beep?) There used to be a number on the Gmail icon, showing how many messages I had.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been enjoying my new Galaxy S6 for the past couple days but one thing I've noticed is that I'm not receiving any Gmail push notifications. I only ever notice new emails getting pulled in when I open the Gmail (or Inbox) app, and it executes a refresh now that the app is open. If I'm not using the app or my phone's screen is off -- nothing.
I've tried a number of different things, including making sure Power Saving mode is turned off and ensuring that auto sync is enabled for my Google account. I've also made sure that all the appropriate Gmail labels are set to notify me.
One thing I've noticed, in the process of discovery for my Gmail issues, is that when looking at my Google sync information on my phone, the "last synced at" time is usually very out of date.. sometimes it's a couple hours ago, sometimes it's a day ago. I'm wondering if my phone is for some reason just not polling on a regular, more reasonable interval.
FYI I'm getting push notifications from other apps (including Hangouts) as expected.
Not sure if this has already been addressed (surely it must have been!), but am trying to sort unread notifications for Gmail app. I am currently trying Notifyer Unread Count from Play Store. The Notifyer seems to be doing the trick with a fairly simple set up. Am just using the free version which doesn't have any ads but the payable version allows even greater customization like the icon etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny way to disable Gmail notifications on the lock screen? I don't really need to see Gmail notification there, I don't need to see more immediate communications, like texts.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to use a different email app other than Gmail. I know to use an Android phone, you have to sign in with Gmail. My question is, if using an email app other than Gmail how do I stop the notifications from coming to my phone through Gmail? I am getting Gmail notifications as I should and also MyMail notifications. I just wanted to stop the Gmail email notifications.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot necessarily specific to the M8 but maybe in the settings somewhere. How do I get notifications for gmail without the LED blinking? I only want LED to blink for text messages and missed calls.
I searched settings in gmail but couldn't find anything.
I'm using this blackberry without a data plan primarily for text and talk and do not need a data plan ( i know this means i can't use most apps.. i might get one later though ) but in the mean time how do i get gmail push notifications? right now i use the Browser to access my email, but is there an app i can use so i don't have to?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed the latest software update for HTC one a few days ago which rectified calling issues, I no longer get notifications for facebook messenger or gmail. In fact Gmail is no longer pushed and requires manual refresh. I've checked the settings for sync, restarted my phone and even uninstalled and re installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got tired of all the Gmail messages that were alerting my 8530 Berry and have successfully added my Google Apps gmail account that has my .business extension as a gmail account. Great so far, but can I change my .gmail account to not get notifications? Right now I have my . business gmails forward to my gmail account, but it's now redundant. I don't think I want to take my gmail account totally off because it might effect Google Voice etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedNoticed a little while ago that some emails I was waiting for were sitting in Inbox (the app) all along. I've done some troubleshooting (reboot, clear cache, clear data, bouncing the notification settings in the app, bouncing sync).
In the end I uninstalled inbox and enabled gmail and went through all the above with that but no difference. Test emails, as well as genuine ones are all turning up immediately but I get no notification on the notification bar, led, no sound/vibrate etc.
I've tried in safe mode - same thing. I've turned priority mode on and off too.
I did finally get the latest sony update a couple of days ago and I can't be certain this has worked properly since then (Inbox, which I quite like, is set to not notify me for the majority of emails i get.
Just bought the V10, setup everything that I had on my Note 3, including my Gmail account. Now Gmail does not notify immediately when an email arrives. I've gone into the Google account settings, and do not see anywhere where I can set the frequency of syncs. How to get it to instantly notify me of incoming emails?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't know if I am missing a setting but many times I will have no email notification and there are new unread emails in the gmail app. I have exchange and gmail addresses setup and I think it happens with all of them or it is just the exchange emails.I went into all the gmail email settings and selected notification for every email and not just once, the exchange emails do not have this option. I also have vibrate selected but I feel no vibration when they come in. I put the gmail app on priority notification but that didn't work

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe only way I can find out if I have new mail in my Gmail app is if I check and refresh it manually. I have push notifications turned on under the email settings. View 3 Replies View RelatedBefore getting slammed for this: I tried to search first! The search functionality appears to be either very confusing, or broken. I could not see any results for my search, or any notification of 'No Results'.That being said, my real question is about Gmail and Gtalk notifications. I get notifications of calls and texts, but no Gmail or Gtalk. I have the app installed on my android phone (running ICS) and the device is paired properly (indicated by both the app and the fact that the two other notifications work properly).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have certain apps "i.e. quick change keyboards", I like to have the notifications for it shown on my notification screen, but I do not want to see it on my lock screen. Other apps I DO want to see on the lock screen.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my gmail account set up on my phone that updates every 30 mins, however every time it checks and I have an unread message it gives me a sound notification. This would be all good except I receive a daily email around 1.30am which disturbs me sometimes. how I can change this, I've tried everything I can think of? I have a Nokia Lumia 800.
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I set up "sleep mode" from, say, midnight to 8am everyday, I was under the impression that it silences all notifications during that time, but I'm still getting audio notifications from Gmail. Am I missing something obvious here in the settings?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Turbo has, for some reason, halted all Gmail related activity. As of this morning all was well. As of the last few hours, all is NOT well.
I no longer:
hear my chosen (or ANY) notification sound upon delivery
receive the on-screen notification via Moto Display (when screen is dark)
receive the on-screen notification in my notification bar
see the unread mail count (TeslaUnread Plugin) on the Gmail app icon
receive new email messages automatically PERIOD.
The only way I can know I have a new message in my inbox is if I open the Gmail app and click to manually refresh!
My Turbo did download and apply two app updates today: Golden Glass Icon Pack HD and Motorola Camera. I find it highly unlikely, but are one of these responsible?
I still do not know this phone I inside and out.. so any areas or settings to check (and how to check them) that you believe may be causing my Gmail Meltdown!!
Some launchers are not giving gmail notifications because of a security change in gmail. So far the ones I have seen being affected are Launcherpro, Go launcher and possibly ADW.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast Friday my D4 did a forced reboot out of nowhere, which resulted in the Data Manager somehow turning off the "Data Enabled" feature. It took me an hour of no internet/data connection to figure out what was going on.
Perhaps related, since then, Gmail no longer auto syncs or pushes messages to my phone. I have to manually refresh in Gmail for any new message to show up. This failure is highlighted when I am sitting there with my Xoom and my D4, and my Xoom gets mails all day long over 4G/LTE, but my phone is silent.
I have been all through my settings and can't figure out why Gmail won't autosync anymore.
There must be a way to do this. For example, everytime my bluetooth connects, I get a notifications sound, which I don't really need. Plus, it's the same sound for email and text.
View 5 Replies View Related1. After an upgrade to Lollipop, I noticed my gmail label notifications are delayed, i.e. whenever an email with my label is received in my inbox, my customised label notification is delayed, until I unlock my phone and about half a minute later, the notification will appear.
2. Sometimes, the notification sounds (be it whatsapp, email or messages) in locked screen will sound warped.
3. After I unlock the screen and say I'm at my home screen, when I move to another screen, it does not load up properly.
Since the very beginning of the GB update (actually began with the Soak Test), the LED notification stopped working when I get a gmail. At some period shortly after, the notification to the notification bar also suddenly stopped as well. Now, the only way to see if I have a gmail is to go to Goolgle gmail and check.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible when I say, for example, "Ok Google. Send an email to dad," that I can use one of my non-Gmail accounts to send it? I have my Comcast email signed in under Gmail, but it always defaults to my Gmail account I never use, and when I select the icon in the top right that says "Send this email with...," that is the only option.
