I've had my phone for a couple of days, and I noticed I don't get notifications for Gmail. I do get a beep, but I don't get anything visual. (What if I didn't hear the beep?) There used to be a number on the Gmail icon, showing how many messages I had.
I've been enjoying my new Galaxy S6 for the past couple days but one thing I've noticed is that I'm not receiving any Gmail push notifications. I only ever notice new emails getting pulled in when I open the Gmail (or Inbox) app, and it executes a refresh now that the app is open. If I'm not using the app or my phone's screen is off -- nothing.
I've tried a number of different things, including making sure Power Saving mode is turned off and ensuring that auto sync is enabled for my Google account. I've also made sure that all the appropriate Gmail labels are set to notify me.
One thing I've noticed, in the process of discovery for my Gmail issues, is that when looking at my Google sync information on my phone, the "last synced at" time is usually very out of date.. sometimes it's a couple hours ago, sometimes it's a day ago. I'm wondering if my phone is for some reason just not polling on a regular, more reasonable interval.
FYI I'm getting push notifications from other apps (including Hangouts) as expected.
I have an S6. And it has had the latest software update. Ever since yesterday, I am not receiving any notifications for ANYTHING, be it messages, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc, I only see I have a message if I click directly into the app and then it shows me i have new text/snap or whatevs. This is frustrating so much!!!!! Ive checked in my settings and I have all my notifications switched on, I even set them as a priority but still no joy! I have also restarted my device a couple of times in the hope that would work but nope ....
I have a T-Mobile S6 and when I'm connected to WIFI, hangouts notifications do not get pushed. I have to manually open hangouts and all of the notifications come flooding in. Never see this issue with WIFI off.
Not sure if this has already been addressed (surely it must have been!), but am trying to sort unread notifications for Gmail app. I am currently trying Notifyer Unread Count from Play Store. The Notifyer seems to be doing the trick with a fairly simple set up. Am just using the free version which doesn't have any ads but the payable version allows even greater customization like the icon etc.
Any way to disable Gmail notifications on the lock screen? I don't really need to see Gmail notification there, I don't need to see more immediate communications, like texts.
so for one i cant connect my iphone or my brothers itouch to the cpu... the soung comes on as if it is connected but nothing comes out on itunes or cpu...

I use Htc one m8 and a Google nexus 7. I store my contacts on gmail. My question is that all my contact photos show up on my computer and Nexus but some photos do not show on my HTC. The same images are missing from my wife's HTC. These are not large images, some just clipart.
Where is the proximity sensor on the 950?The reason I ask is that right now, when people text me, my phone is not waking up and showing the notification.
From left to right on the front I have what looks like an LED (which never lights up), the camera, the speaker, and another tiny dot. Which one is proximity sensory? I have read that if it is blocked it the phone won't wake up when texts arrive
What is happening: Notifications like photo comments, tags, favorites, likes, game notifications are not showing up under the action center. This is happening for a certain number of applications (Facebook, Twitter, Path, 6tag, etc). Mostly, none native applications. Only native applications and a few third party applications are showing up in the Action Center as well in the Settings under 'Notifications+Actions.'
What I have tried to do to resolve the issue: I have uninstalled the applications, reboot the phone, reinstalled the applications, checked the settings of the applications itself (eg. checked facebook settings for notifications - they were on). And lastly, restarted/refreshed/formatted the phone. Also, I tried to remove those icons from the lockscreen for their corresponding applications (I've read that somewhere in MS Answers), they said application notifications will only show if they are allowed to run in the background (check) and if they are not included in the Quick Status for the Lockscreen (check).
What I got on my hands: I have a lumia 1320 running the latest firmware available from MS/Nokia, Lumia Denim. I have a 16gb micro SD card in the phone.
My notifications for both Whatsapp and Viber do not work. I've tried resetting my phone, I've tried deleting the apps and re-downloading them but yet nothing works. The actual apps do not appear in the notifications + actions, as an option. I cannot turn on the notifications at all ! When I open Whatsapp I receive a message saying the following: Whatsapp detected an issue with your phone that will prevent you from recieving new message notifications. Please reboot your phone.
I just purchased a LG G3 (coming from a Note 3) and noticed that notifications do not wake up the lock screen like the Note did. Also, when I do receive a text, I have to swipe to unlock the screen and it does not give a preview of the text, only who sent it. Is this a limitation of the phone? For work, I need the preview on the lock screen.
I want to use a different email app other than Gmail. I know to use an Android phone, you have to sign in with Gmail. My question is, if using an email app other than Gmail how do I stop the notifications from coming to my phone through Gmail? I am getting Gmail notifications as I should and also MyMail notifications. I just wanted to stop the Gmail email notifications.
Not necessarily specific to the M8 but maybe in the settings somewhere. How do I get notifications for gmail without the LED blinking? I only want LED to blink for text messages and missed calls.
I searched settings in gmail but couldn't find anything.
I'm using this blackberry without a data plan primarily for text and talk and do not need a data plan ( i know this means i can't use most apps.. i might get one later though ) but in the mean time how do i get gmail push notifications? right now i use the Browser to access my email, but is there an app i can use so i don't have to?
For some reason I am not getting any notifications for incoming emails with the GMAIL app///I have an alternate Gmail address setup with mail app and i do receive notifications from that app letting me know I have new emails. I have gone through and made sure i have the sync settings activated...
Ever since I installed the latest software update for HTC one a few days ago which rectified calling issues, I no longer get notifications for facebook messenger or gmail. In fact Gmail is no longer pushed and requires manual refresh. I've checked the settings for sync, restarted my phone and even uninstalled and re installed.
How to get gmail notifications for even those mails which are classified under social / promotions / forums. Right now I get email notifications on my nexus 5 only for those emails which get classified under primary and that also not instantly !!
I got tired of all the Gmail messages that were alerting my 8530 Berry and have successfully added my Google Apps gmail account that has my .business extension as a gmail account. Great so far, but can I change my .gmail account to not get notifications? Right now I have my . business gmails forward to my gmail account, but it's now redundant. I don't think I want to take my gmail account totally off because it might effect Google Voice etc.
Noticed a little while ago that some emails I was waiting for were sitting in Inbox (the app) all along. I've done some troubleshooting (reboot, clear cache, clear data, bouncing the notification settings in the app, bouncing sync).
In the end I uninstalled inbox and enabled gmail and went through all the above with that but no difference. Test emails, as well as genuine ones are all turning up immediately but I get no notification on the notification bar, led, no sound/vibrate etc.
I've tried in safe mode - same thing. I've turned priority mode on and off too.
I did finally get the latest sony update a couple of days ago and I can't be certain this has worked properly since then (Inbox, which I quite like, is set to not notify me for the majority of emails i get.
Just bought the V10, setup everything that I had on my Note 3, including my Gmail account. Now Gmail does not notify immediately when an email arrives. I've gone into the Google account settings, and do not see anywhere where I can set the frequency of syncs. How to get it to instantly notify me of incoming emails?
I don't know if I am missing a setting but many times I will have no email notification and there are new unread emails in the gmail app. I have exchange and gmail addresses setup and I think it happens with all of them or it is just the exchange emails.I went into all the gmail email settings and selected notification for every email and not just once, the exchange emails do not have this option. I also have vibrate selected but I feel no vibration when they come in. I put the gmail app on priority notification but that didn't work
No notifications from gmail. just had a lg g3 no problems. soon as i sign in i get no gmail notifications, but i open the app and i have new mail about a dozen or so. sync is set up and on but nothing.
The only way I can find out if I have new mail in my Gmail app is if I check and refresh it manually. I have push notifications turned on under the email settings. I have background data enabled. Trying to avoid restoring my phone.rundown of settings to get my notifications back up and running?
Before getting slammed for this: I tried to search first! The search functionality appears to be either very confusing, or broken. I could not see any results for my search, or any notification of 'No Results'.That being said, my real question is about Gmail and Gtalk notifications. I get notifications of calls and texts, but no Gmail or Gtalk. I have the app installed on my android phone (running ICS) and the device is paired properly (indicated by both the app and the fact that the two other notifications work properly).
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.
