Where is the proximity sensor on the 950?The reason I ask is that right now, when people text me, my phone is not waking up and showing the notification.
From left to right on the front I have what looks like an LED (which never lights up), the camera, the speaker, and another tiny dot. Which one is proximity sensory? I have read that if it is blocked it the phone won't wake up when texts arrive
I just purchased a LG G3 (coming from a Note 3) and noticed that notifications do not wake up the lock screen like the Note did. Also, when I do receive a text, I have to swipe to unlock the screen and it does not give a preview of the text, only who sent it. Is this a limitation of the phone? For work, I need the preview on the lock screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is happening: Notifications like photo comments, tags, favorites, likes, game notifications are not showing up under the action center. This is happening for a certain number of applications (Facebook, Twitter, Path, 6tag, etc). Mostly, none native applications. Only native applications and a few third party applications are showing up in the Action Center as well in the Settings under 'Notifications+Actions.'
What I have tried to do to resolve the issue: I have uninstalled the applications, reboot the phone, reinstalled the applications, checked the settings of the applications itself (eg. checked facebook settings for notifications - they were on). And lastly, restarted/refreshed/formatted the phone. Also, I tried to remove those icons from the lockscreen for their corresponding applications (I've read that somewhere in MS Answers), they said application notifications will only show if they are allowed to run in the background (check) and if they are not included in the Quick Status for the Lockscreen (check).
What I got on my hands: I have a lumia 1320 running the latest firmware available from MS/Nokia, Lumia Denim. I have a 16gb micro SD card in the phone.
My notifications for both Whatsapp and Viber do not work. I've tried resetting my phone, I've tried deleting the apps and re-downloading them but yet nothing works. The actual apps do not appear in the notifications + actions, as an option. I cannot turn on the notifications at all ! When I open Whatsapp I receive a message saying the following: Whatsapp detected an issue with your phone that will prevent you from recieving new message notifications. Please reboot your phone.

Ever since yesterday, I am not receiving any notifications for ANYTHING, be it messages, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc, I only see I have a message if I click directly into the app and then it shows me i have new text/snap or whatevs. This is frustrating so much!!!!! Ive checked in my settings and I have all my notifications switched on, I even set them as a priority but still no joy! I have also restarted my device a couple of times in the hope that would work but nope ....

I use the Hello feature to login, however it still prompts to scan iris even if the phone is unlocked already and I'm just waking up the phone.I can just bypass it by swiping up the screen, is this normal can it not be disabled when just waking the phone?

so for one i cant connect my iphone or my brothers itouch to the cpu... the soung comes on as if it is connected but nothing comes out on itunes or cpu...
the second one my when i go to any app i get a message saying"connect to itunes to use push notifications" my iphone is connected wirelessly to my cpu but that does nothing to it.. ive reinstalled itunes,done a hard restart, nothing seems to work.... cant connect and cant recieve push notifations

After trading in my unlocked 950 for the ATT 950, glance doesnt show SMS notifications. Missed calls, VM, and facebook all show normally on glance. SMS turns on screen and toast notification as normal, just not on glance screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been enjoying my new Galaxy S6 for the past couple days but one thing I've noticed is that I'm not receiving any Gmail push notifications. I only ever notice new emails getting pulled in when I open the Gmail (or Inbox) app, and it executes a refresh now that the app is open. If I'm not using the app or my phone's screen is off -- nothing.
I've tried a number of different things, including making sure Power Saving mode is turned off and ensuring that auto sync is enabled for my Google account. I've also made sure that all the appropriate Gmail labels are set to notify me.
One thing I've noticed, in the process of discovery for my Gmail issues, is that when looking at my Google sync information on my phone, the "last synced at" time is usually very out of date.. sometimes it's a couple hours ago, sometimes it's a day ago. I'm wondering if my phone is for some reason just not polling on a regular, more reasonable interval.
FYI I'm getting push notifications from other apps (including Hangouts) as expected.
I have a T-Mobile S6 and when I'm connected to WIFI, hangouts notifications do not get pushed. I have to manually open hangouts and all of the notifications come flooding in. Never see this issue with WIFI off.

I also have a band 2 (hate how it manages messages), but this problem occurs even when bluetooth and band 2 is off/not connected.
Nothing shows up on glance/lock screen even if I have messaging chosen to show quick status.
My S5 receives new text notifications, shows sender, but when I open default text app the messages don't appear at all. I have no other text apps.

Once I noticed this, I have seen more and more instances of it when I pulll the phone out of my pocket and random apps will be open. This has been causing me to have much lower battery life than expected.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got an early release on the Fitbit Surge. Its awesome so far except my smartphone, a Motorola Droid Turbo, will not currently sync notifications for text and phone calls. I've emailed them asking about the problem. They say it is because "the Fitbit app is not currently supported by the Motorola Droid Turbo." The smart phone compatible list on their website does not show my phone, however the app works just fine and even syncs everything else the surge has to offer. Fitbit says they are working closely with smart phone manufactures to work out the Bluetooth 4.0 problems. The only instance that the I have any trouble is when I check the text and call notifications box in the Fitbit app for my surge.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 8.1 on my 1520 and use my Bluetooth headset 97% of the time. I leave it connected all the time and noticed that I do not hear audible incoming text messages, e-mail alerts etc....... The alert sounds come through the Bluetooth headset, so just because I have my Bluetooth connected to my 1520 doesn't mean that I wear my headset all the time, so if I'm not wearing the headset a text message for example will come in and play the alert through the headset but I won't hear it obviously, so I have to check my phone periodically to see if I have text messages or e-mails that have come in.
My wife has even complained that I don't respond to her text messages right away the way I use to when I had my Note 2. On the Note my Bluetooth would be connected just like I do with my 1520, but the sounds/alerts would still be through the phone and audible for me to hear unless I put the phone on silent. Is this an oversight on MS part? Or just something that'll be fixed when the official 8.1 update rolls out???
My phone has developed a condition of not waking after the screen went to sleep. I am not sure it started after Lollipop 5.0.1 or not. But it is doing that more frequent with time. When I tried to double tap to wake the phone, only the task bar on top, the home, and back button at the bottom lighted up. If I press the power button, the screen will go black completely. Press the power button again and the task bar and the other two button lighted up again. The way to finally wake up the phone is repeatedly pressing the volume up and down button together. This could require several minutes of pressing the volume button to get the screen to turn on. The phone is not rooted. It works fine when the screen is on.

Last night, I noticed that my phone didn't seem to be sleeping. I rebooted my phone and it seemed to be working. The next time I tried to check something on it, the screen would not come on after pressing the power button. Pressing and holding the power button, the phone would reboot and I would be able to use my phone normally until it slept/I turned the screen off. Power button does not bring the screen up, but the backlight does come on. Notifications come through, (light included).
I've since factory reset my phone, loaded settings from what was saved before.
-> phone will not wake Factory reset, -> treat as new device, no apps from google play installed -> phone will not wake
This issue for me has just started as of last night, with nothing updated/installed/changed recently. Cycling the power (holding power till it restarts) allows for use of the phone (until it sleeps), power + vol up does nothing different from just power, and power + vol down boots to the bootloader with nothing changed when started from there.
I have looked elsewhere, this doesn't seem to be a common problem, but seems (to me) occurs more with rooted/rom'ed phones and not stock phones. This phone hasn't been either of those. None of the things I've found seem to have any solutions.
Edit: I went through the Google Play store troubleshooting thing for 'Device will not turn on' and now I cannot get anything other than the Google logo upon restart, or the Boot-loader if Vol - and power.
I have a Galaxy S5 and would like to be able to stop the notification of receiving an e-mail without stopping the notification of text messages. Is there a way to differentiate? I was able to do this on older phones.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes, perhaps just a couple times a week, I will hit the power or Home button to wake my phone and the screen will be very, very dim for 5 or so seconds. After that, the screen will be the normal brightness and the phone behaves normally. Most of the time, the screen pops on right away, and I can't find any correlation that explains when this might happen. It's not related to the environment's brightness, as AFAIK. It seems to be completely random.I have the screen brightness manually set at the lowest setting. Auto brightness is turned off.I got my X2 with the original Froyo firmware, and didn't see this happen until the current 2.3.4 firmware. But the older firmwares weren't current for very long, so perhaps it would have happened if I'd used the older firmware versions for a longer time

For some reason, starting a few days ago, the hand wave no longer has this effect - nothing happens.
To see the time or notifications I have to hit the power button. Not a big deal, but inconvenient.
