My Turbo used to "wake up" and display the time, my notifications, etc. when I passed my hand over the screen.
For some reason, starting a few days ago, the hand wave no longer has this effect - nothing happens.
To see the time or notifications I have to hit the power button. Not a big deal, but inconvenient.
Is there a way to disable the screen from waking up every time you wave your hand by it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSometimes, perhaps just a couple times a week, I will hit the power or Home button to wake my phone and the screen will be very, very dim for 5 or so seconds. After that, the screen will be the normal brightness and the phone behaves normally. Most of the time, the screen pops on right away, and I can't find any correlation that explains when this might happen. It's not related to the environment's brightness, as AFAIK. It seems to be completely random.I have the screen brightness manually set at the lowest setting. Auto brightness is turned off.I got my X2 with the original Froyo firmware, and didn't see this happen until the current 2.3.4 firmware. But the older firmwares weren't current for very long, so perhaps it would have happened if I'd used the older firmware versions for a longer time

I recently had to do a factory reset for a different issue and now I don't see my Google photos in the Gallery. When I originally set up the phone they appeared automatically.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've like to try Android Pay. So I set everything up and turned on NFC in Advanced settings, as well as the Android Pay setting. However, I don't see the NFC icon. Did the is icon go away with the Lollipop update? What am I missing. I tried using Android Pay at the grocery store today and it did not register with the POS terminal.

I initially thought it was a problem with Chomp SMS, but then I discovered Gmail is not showing the brief text notification either, just the icon. Any setting somewhere to change that?

There are times I will hit the power button and I can count off one thousand one, one thousand two, up to one thousand six before the screen will light up and then it lights up for just a second and then it goes dark like it has timed out because of inactivity.It is a real wonderful feature when I am showing off my state of the art, top of the line, Android Flagship Motorola phone to people.It does this regularly if I have not used the phone for more than an hour or so and sometimes it will happen sporadically during periods where I check the phone every few minutes, like when I am expecting important emails.
I did a factory reset and removed all of the factory bloatware apps and updated my phone so that it is current on .83.I did not put any apps onto the phone, I left it alone, just set up my accounts.And the phone still has the problem with the long wake cycles.So I went ahead and put my apps back on my phone.Oh, and I tried with and without the SD card in the phone as well. Checking all possible variables.So does anyone else enjoy such long awakening cycles or am I the lucky one here? Does my Atrix need to go on permanent vacation at the AT&T store while I acquire a replacement? Or is this the nature of all Android devices and I should just suck it up?
Camera no longer has picture in picture showing recently taken photo. Have to leave then go to gallery to view. Lots of simple friendly feature gone like this. Evan
View -1 Replies View RelatedOver the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
i just installed the the outlook app on my droid turbo.when i send an e-mail, the recipient see's that it is coming from my e-mail address (@hotmail.com) how can i change it so that they see it is coming from my actual name instead of my e-mail address?

If the problem persists please power off phone. Well the problem always persists and I always have to power off my phone and turn it back on to get the camera working again.
