Camera no longer has picture in picture showing recently taken photo. Have to leave then go to gallery to view. Lots of simple friendly feature gone like this. Evan

One standard photo is about 5.8MB. pics are too big for casual emailing around and I've found no Droid way to reduce size. I have been using a free program called "send reduced" when I need to email a picture. I transfer pics to my computer using Google Drive when I want to save them. Was wondering how others are handling these huge files?

View 2 Replies View Relatedsometimes when i receive a MMS message, it comes in as a "slideshow" in which i need to hit "play" to watch it for a duration of 20 seconds and the picture is always in the middle around 10 seconds.
is this a setting that i need to disable?
the picture should just show up instead of me watching it on the "slideshow" which is just a waste of time.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I have been unable to view my photos successfully on my laptop. It has been happening for several weeks now...When I transfer the photos to my laptop via USB (before you ask, I have tried as USB Mass Storage, PC MODE, and Windows Media Sync) and try opening them, I get the message 'Window Photo Viewer can't open this picture because the file appears to be damaged, corrupted, or is too large.' I just now figured out today how to get the Motocast application installed and running, and it synced up ~400 pictures from my phone to laptop.
However again, when I try viewing any of them on my laptop, I get the message. I have been emailing the photos from my phone, but for some reason that stopped working today also. I go to the photo gallery and do a multi select>Share>Email, and the draft is created. I see the photos attached, put in my email address, but the email never sends...it just pops up with an orange triangle next to the subject and says Send Action canceled. Not sure what all information is needed...software is updated, is a RAZR MAXX, my laptop is Windows 7. About 65 of the photos/videos appear to be in Internal Storage and the rest are on sD card.
How to move pictures from the 'my library' section to the camera roll part of the gallery app that comes with the d3? The pictures I am taking with hdr+ app default to the library, but when I try to download onto my pc it only sees what is in the camera roll and not the library.

I can only take a picture of a static (not moving) object with my Droid as it takes about 3 secs from pressing the screen button to actually taking the picture. If not, any way to minimize the effect? Is it much better (faster) with the new phones- like the Droid 3? I have played around with other phones that allowed fast and smooth pictures.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIf I take a picture, let the LG Camera app click (and sort of flash the screen), then immediately hit the Back button to exit the Camera app, the picture does not actually save.
I noticed this the other day, and just tried reproducing it. Take a picture, letting the camera click and actually take the picture. But before the Gallery thumbnail in the bottom-right corner of the Camera app has a chance to update, immediately hit the Back button to exit. Then go to the Gallery and see if the picture is there.
On my phone, it's as though I never took the picture at all. I have Verizon, on software 611A, and I am saving to the 32GB SD card from the LG promo.
I have lost at least 1 picture already from this. It would seem to me that if the camera clicks, then the picture should officially have been taken, and the app should definitely save it before exiting, even if it has to finish the process in the background.
If you take a picture on a normal digital camera, then immediately hit the power button, the camera will likely give a message like "Camera is busy", or something similar, preventing it from shutting down until it's finished.
Took photo with iphone 4s. Picture displays in picture preview on bottom left, but is not in camera roll. Pic should be in phone somewhere since it's in preview.

My rear camera picture seems to be blurred when i take a picture within 1metre but seems okay if i take a picture within 5cm? same thing occurs when i record a video either in 4k mode or not. this problem happens after i update my os to 5.0. so i cant really use my camera now except for front camera.i cant use my rear camera because the blur problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently i was going through all of my photos - older ones and the new ones. I did notice, that older pictures are bigger in size than those i snapped recently. I'm talking about oversampled ones (5 MP). They used to be ~1.6-2.3 mb size, now they are 600-800 kb.
Am i doing something wrong? I'm copying my photos directly from the phone, so there is no compression going on.
I'm new here from iPhone land, enjoying the 64GB Turbo. How can I map the location a photo was taken? And yes, assuming location is turned on when the pic was taken. I'm just using photo gallery right now, I'd rather not use Picasa.

I've got a Motorola Droid with Verizon and I noticed that my picture ID files are grainy and gross. Anyone know the true pixel size of those, as they display on the screen? I tried using the wallpaper dimensions, but it's still re-sizing the images.

Pressing the camera button does bring up the camera in 8MP mode-Yay!-which is a work around for the normal camera icon resorting to WS mode everytime the phone is rebooted or the camera app cleared from RAM.

For some reason, starting a few days ago, the hand wave no longer has this effect - nothing happens.
To see the time or notifications I have to hit the power button. Not a big deal, but inconvenient.
By default, the Atrix uses the picture filename of "YYYY-MM-DD_hh-mm-ss_xxx.jpg" (example: "2011-08-01_09-16-12_123.jpg"). How can we change this to another filename mask, like "YYYY_MMDD_hhmmss xxx.jpg" (example: 2011_0801_091612 123.jpg) or any other format of our choosing?In addition, are there any other field masks that we can use beyond the YYY, MM and DD and time fields?

View 7 Replies View RelatedGot a picture sent to my X from my son's X. He took the photo in portrait mode. When I received it, as I was holding the phone upright (portrait) the photo was showing sideways. I rotated the phone, and the photo rotated yet again so its again sideways to the orientation of the phone. The only way to see the photo in the correct orientation is to hold the phone upside down, i.e. hard buttons at the top. I never noticed this before and it doesn't do it with pictures that were already on the phone. I looked at the one he took on his phone and it is in the correct orientation. I opened the picture both in the stock messaging app and in Handcent and its the same in both.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I went camping this weekend, and every picture I took is distorted when I'm lookin at them. Even some of my older photos are now being distorted. When using quick pic or the stock gallery, the picture looks great as a small thumbnail, but when i open the picture, a grey bar runs across the picture and the picture will be grey from the head up or the waist down. It's not the whole picture, just half of it. Was thinking about going to Verizon to show them, but I hate waiting in line for an hour only to have them say there's nothing they can do. BTW..no water on/in phone and camera lens looks in tact.
