I have a T-Mobile S6 and when I'm connected to WIFI, hangouts notifications do not get pushed. I have to manually open hangouts and all of the notifications come flooding in. Never see this issue with WIFI off.

However on my phone, the only Android app that will actively sync these text messages (and receive new ones) is the hangouts android app. I'm trying to switch to another app while still being able to text from hangouts from my computer. Is this possible?

The actual apps do not appear in the notifications + actions, as an option. I cannot turn on the notifications at all ! When I open Whatsapp I receive a message saying the following: Whatsapp detected an issue with your phone that will prevent you from recieving new message notifications. Please reboot your phone.

Ever since yesterday, I am not receiving any notifications for ANYTHING, be it messages, whatsapp, facebook, snapchat etc, I only see I have a message if I click directly into the app and then it shows me i have new text/snap or whatevs. This is frustrating so much!!!!! Ive checked in my settings and I have all my notifications switched on, I even set them as a priority but still no joy! I have also restarted my device a couple of times in the hope that would work but nope ....
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been enjoying my new Galaxy S6 for the past couple days but one thing I've noticed is that I'm not receiving any Gmail push notifications. I only ever notice new emails getting pulled in when I open the Gmail (or Inbox) app, and it executes a refresh now that the app is open. If I'm not using the app or my phone's screen is off -- nothing.
I've tried a number of different things, including making sure Power Saving mode is turned off and ensuring that auto sync is enabled for my Google account. I've also made sure that all the appropriate Gmail labels are set to notify me.
One thing I've noticed, in the process of discovery for my Gmail issues, is that when looking at my Google sync information on my phone, the "last synced at" time is usually very out of date.. sometimes it's a couple hours ago, sometimes it's a day ago. I'm wondering if my phone is for some reason just not polling on a regular, more reasonable interval.
FYI I'm getting push notifications from other apps (including Hangouts) as expected.
Is it possible for certain wifi networks to affect push notifications? For example, my notifications from USAToday come through on my home wifi network, but not on my work wifi network. However, the notifications came through on both networks just fine using my GS4.

Where is the proximity sensor on the 950?The reason I ask is that right now, when people text me, my phone is not waking up and showing the notification.
From left to right on the front I have what looks like an LED (which never lights up), the camera, the speaker, and another tiny dot. Which one is proximity sensory? I have read that if it is blocked it the phone won't wake up when texts arrive
What is happening: Notifications like photo comments, tags, favorites, likes, game notifications are not showing up under the action center. This is happening for a certain number of applications (Facebook, Twitter, Path, 6tag, etc). Mostly, none native applications. Only native applications and a few third party applications are showing up in the Action Center as well in the Settings under 'Notifications+Actions.'
What I have tried to do to resolve the issue: I have uninstalled the applications, reboot the phone, reinstalled the applications, checked the settings of the applications itself (eg. checked facebook settings for notifications - they were on). And lastly, restarted/refreshed/formatted the phone. Also, I tried to remove those icons from the lockscreen for their corresponding applications (I've read that somewhere in MS Answers), they said application notifications will only show if they are allowed to run in the background (check) and if they are not included in the Quick Status for the Lockscreen (check).
What I got on my hands: I have a lumia 1320 running the latest firmware available from MS/Nokia, Lumia Denim. I have a 16gb micro SD card in the phone.
I just purchased a LG G3 (coming from a Note 3) and noticed that notifications do not wake up the lock screen like the Note did. Also, when I do receive a text, I have to swipe to unlock the screen and it does not give a preview of the text, only who sent it. Is this a limitation of the phone? For work, I need the preview on the lock screen.

Waking the phone up - by swiping the screen - activates it and the messages come in. This is particularly diferent because MightyText doesn't work until I wake up the phone.
I have looked through all settings and cannot find a solution:
- power saving mode is off
- 'Keep wifi on during sleep' is set to 'Always'
- I have no battery saving apps on my phone.

The notifications work fine on my M8 but I've never been able to get them working on my S6 nor was I able to do so on my Note 4. Is that a Samsung issue? When the screen is off, it seems like more often than not I don't receive an alert when I receive emails/FB updates. Only when I wake the screen up & swipe my fingerprint that "location" shows up & I suddenly get my alert notification sound that I have email. Kind of useless since I have to open up my device to see if I have any notifications.
I honestly think this has SOMETHING to do with Location services, but not sure.
I noticed this the other day that my Yahoo app randomly stopped receiving notifications. I never changed anything email or sync related for a long time so it makes this harder to solve. I dont even remember having sync on ever for my Yahoo emails (maybe this sounds stupid and it was on the whole time but I cant remember). Anyway I tried deleting the accounts and re-adding, using the default email app and adding the same accounts, clearing app date/caches, re-installing Yahoo app, clearing cache partition, and turning all the syncs on/off and playing with those settings. What I did notice was a suspicious log in a few days ago from out of state which I am not sure is part of this or not, but it was on android supposedly, I changed my PW just to be sure.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having an issue with my twitter push notifications that is pretty maddening. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. For instance they always show in the twitter app when I get a new notification BUT the notification sound does not go off and it does not show in the phones notification bar like it used to (which is the most important part IMO). It does seem to work when certain people at me or DM me. Others it just does what I described above. I've tried revoking access, uninstall/reinstall, I have even tried resetting to the phone to factory settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAlmost every application that utilizes push notifications ? Sometimes a reboot temporarily fixes it, or connecting to wifi make them all come in in an explosion. It seems to be worse when I am on LTE. I know it has nothing to do with the connection because my connection is great regardless, I think it is applications not having been updated for compatibility with this phone. I have had two other lollipop devices that worked fine, but this phone refuses to be cooperative on this.

Unfortunately, that means I can't get MMS messages when on Wifi. I'm using hangouts, but don't think it's hangouts specific. If there's a way to make this work?
I always give my closest friends individual ringtones to separate them from all the other texts that I get. So I went to their contact info, added notification field and then changed their notification tone. But for some reason when they text me, they still come up as the default notification as like every other text does. Why can't I customize the text notifications by adding a different text notification to each of my contacts that I want a different notification tone for?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI factory reset the phone after i used odin to flash factory rom. Installed latest ATT update. Setup google account and again put the phone on wireless charger, after 10 mins of no activity send myself emails from different accounts from the PC and No email notifications at all with just Mobile Network only turned on. I tested this with wired charging and the result is the same.
Test condition:
1. Charge phone, wired or wireless, only turn on Mobile network, no wifi!!!
2. Leave the phone untouched and idle for 10+ mins
3. during this time no txt or phone calls otherwise it will reset the sleep flag
4. after 10+ mins of no activity send yourself emails from a desktop or another phone. You should in theory get notifications but I'm willing to be you will not.
Wifi and Bluetooth aren't getting turn on my Blkberry 8520. I tried many things but always getting the same error... i.e. Wifi won't turn on..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon HTC One M8. The phone is great, but Google Hangouts rarely sends or receives MMS messages. Most of the time, it fails to send an MMS message, but when it does, it usually takes over 20 minutes.
The stock messaging app works fine and has no issues sending or receiving MMS instantly. However, I prefer Google Hangouts.
Also, I am not asking for solutions such as shutting off wifi or anything involving wifi calling being shut off because I don't have to do that with the stock messaging app and I do not plan to compromise by disabling another important feature in my phone.
I have my Google voice number as my default phone, and my default messaging app. It doesn't play nice with Ford Sync in our companies new Explorer. Let me state the regular Verizon number works flawless with it. Back to hangouts. I can dial out from sync with no problems. But incoming calls to the hangouts number(Google voice number) are not acknowledged by Sync. When I answer the call with the phone, the audio does come through sync, and I can hang up the call from sync. Text messages are not acknowledged at all by Sync. I can change sync to Bluetooth audio and hear/control from there. But, who wants to leave it set to Bluetooth audio. I want to hear the radio.
