Jun 7, 2014Sometime in the last week, a post was made asking how to prevent an unwanted person from contacting her via SMS messaging. She can block his phone number directly, and/or just not answer "unknown caller" attempts. (could just direct those to a silent ring/disconnect)
I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:

and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.

Jan 8, 2016I have uninstalled the "SMS + Call Filter" app (had to do this through Storage settings - what's up with that?), and reinstalled the SMS + Call Filter app using the SysAppPusher app. It still fails when I try to use it: "Something went wrong"
If I long-press a number in Call History, it allows me to process that number. However, the number really isn't blocked - it continues to ring.
From reading Windows Central forum posts, as well as other fora, this appears to be a prevalent problem with the 950 and Windows Mobile.

Feb 10, 2010N97...v2.1....the names of the callers are not displaying.i have numbers saved to my SIM card and my phone memory.the calls that have not displayed are from both the SIM only and the favourites on phone memory.why would this be happening and how should i fix it? it used to be okay.in the numbers called i have some numbers from today that are not displayed and a number from the 8th feb that is named.

Oct 26, 2013I tested the call blocking feature today and noticed that it forwarded the call to voice mail. Is there any option somewhere to have it drop the call instead? I had this in my Captivate but not on my S3, had to use the Mr. Number app. Would be nice to have because if I go through the trouble of blocking a number, I don't want them leaving a message either. It's mostly telemarketers that I block and the messages they leave are usually dead air...

All the data looks a little bit like "fake data", like data to demonstrate features of the phone, not like real private data. Bad thing is, however, that I removed all this nonsense, but after a reset to factory settings, the data appeared again!

Jan 19, 2010Don't know if that's just me or my newly acquired N900..... I used the Nokia Messaging service during the trial phase a year or two back. After the trial was over, and finally the real service became available on the local carrier ( 3 Hong Kong ), I signed up for the service only to find out that the old email address I signed up during the trail period is now blocked. I can add email address that's not in the original trial account, but not the same ones ( got an error message from Nokia Messaging setup on the N900 saying another Nokia Messaging account already taken the email address I was trying to add).
So I went into the email.nokia.com to delete those email accounts (and the status of my subscription correctly shows that it's now operator subscription), but the problem persists. Actually it seems that my N900 email accounts under Nokia Messaging are out of sync with what I can see on email.nokia.com.(I have a couple accounts on the N900, and none in email.nokia.com)

Mar 23, 2010My X6 started playing an audio alert every now and then. When this happens, the screen stays dark and there is no notifications. I found that when I hold the red button the phone asks if it can close the data packet connection. After a while it connects again automatically. There is no open applications. I have changed the internet connection so that it asks for user confirmation and if I cancel it, it just pops up again after a while. How can I determine which process or application is trying to access the internet?

I do not require these but I do not have the option to delete them - all I can do for now is move them to a new folder which I have called 'Unused apps'. Can anyone shed any light on how I can remove these apps and therefore free up more memory.

May 30, 2010I want to Clear my mobile RAM from unwanted usage (chicked in nokia Energy pro.). Before running some programe the software shows 64 to 68 MB (Switch off and switch on). After running some program, that Energy pro. Shows 82 to 86 MB. Now my problem is, after closing that application the Energy Pro. shows 74 to 76 MB. Why is this memory occupied over there? How can i clear this memory? (pls avoid to say switch off switch on mobile.) Thanks in advance.
