N97...v2.1....the names of the callers are not displaying.i have numbers saved to my SIM card and my phone memory.the calls that have not displayed are from both the SIM only and the favourites on phone memory.why would this be happening and how should i fix it? it used to be okay.in the numbers called i have some numbers from today that are not displayed and a number from the 8th feb that is named.

I've been using using my E51 for about 2 years, and it suddenly stopped displaying the contact names for SMS messages.There are no duplicates in the contact list.The thing is, it's started when I synced my phone with Ovi online.Could anybody find a solution for this ?It's quite annoying not having the names of the contacts
It's not displaying names of the contacts in message folder but instead is displaying ONLY numbers. This is creating difficulty for me to go back in contacts and see which person is sending SMS.

When I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
Many names in the address book not showing up. Hence, when I get a call or make one, the name doesn't come up with the number. After the call, the number with the name is visible in call log as outgoing or incoming or missed. In the database details it shows my address book having 238 numbers (these are the numbers currently visible). So how is it that the names are visible in the log and not in the address book and also not visible during a call.

Today I noticed that my E71 doesn't show any names when somebody calls me, neither does it show any names with text messages (SMS). It shows just the number.It doesn't show any name, I tried it with 10+ different people, both calling and texting. I have no duplicates in my address-book. I didn't add anything in the last 3 days. Yesterday everything worked just fine. I have no '(unnamed)' entries in my address-book either. No empty entries either. I didn't sync my phone with my pc (via Nokia PC Suite) since last week.
I bought a Nokia 5230 yesterday and I'm already experiencing an annoying problem.I told people on Facebook to text me their name so I could just put them into Contacts which I then did. But their names doesn't show in Inbox, only their phone numbers. What the **bleep**?I somehow added a friend of mine which IS showing, but I did that manually. I then tried adding some of the others manually with no result - still showing only their numbers.Whats wrong?
With some of my contacts an incoming call with a Caller ID does not display the caller's name, although they are in my Contact List and the number is in a valid format.Same is the case for sms's from the same contact.I only have one entry of that contact in my phonebook.Any 1 facing the same issue?
When most people call my phone only their number is displayed. All numbers are saved only once. Have tried saving them to the phone and then the sim again nothing seems to work it's so frustrating
I don't know why is this happening but when someone calls me his number shows up rather than his/her name. and yes, i do have the person in my contacts this happens only on some contacts, some work fine, i don't know why my contacts got all ported from my simcard to phone card from old sonny erricson and appear just fine in contact book.
When someone calls me the call display shows their number and their "registered" name example: I have Kati McGee saved in my contacts with her number, but when she calls it is Katherin McGee and her number, never my saved name. When i get the message that i missed a call it comes from my contacts, as well as text messages.
How do I make it show what is entered in my phone book? I have tried anything I can find to try, with no luck.
I've tried many navigation applications and Nokia Drive holds up rather well. But one area I noticed it seems off compared to many others is it seems to favor or use unknown names compared to other apps. It often calls out street names that are not marked as such.
For instance in Florida it seems to be calling I-95 SR 9. After a little research I found the SR 9 is a hidden designation that isn't marked by any road signs.
I just bought a Nokia 5230. I used the Nokia Ovi Suite to upload one additional voice to the phone: Finnish with street names (Suomi katujen nimill). The upload was successful ( I even checked the memory card). However this voice option is not available on the phone in the Ovi Maps Settings (not for walking or driving).
I have had this phone for about 8 months and it has always showed me who in my contact list is sending me a text message. It has only shown the phone number if the person texting me is not in my contact list.A few days ago, it started showing me only the number that sent the text message. I have no idea why it started this, maybe some wrong buttons got pushed while I was carrying it around in my pocket? It doesn't always lock when I close the phone, and sometimes I don't notice it when I slide the phone into my pocket.I've tried adding the number to my contact list, and it adds it just fine, but the next time I get a text from that number, only the number shows up again.This is quite frustrating, and I would like to get if fixed, does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?Old messages from before this started happening still show the names.I haven't had it connected to my computer since the phone was new and as far as I know, it hasn't done any software upgrades or anything like that.
Nokia 5030 don't show names of all calling/sms writing people- saved in adress book. Some people numbers saved in adress book when calling to me I see, their name, but most of saved names and numbers in adress/sim book, don't show name, only number, like they aren't saved in phone book. The same thing is with sms receiving. Phone is 10 days old.
I can edit and add names to the sites and places in the Nokia Maps. For example, in the theater of my province listed as "City Theatre", but actually called "Gran Teatro de la Ciudad". I want to edit, add and edit the names as many are wrongly written and other misplaced.
Had my Nokia N8 for about a year now, recently updated to Belle and I think it looks lovely but I've had so many problems since. Now this new one has started and I don't know if it's a bug that I can fix or not, randomly it loses the contact name associations when I open up the text message inbox. It just comes up with the phone numbers, the contacts are still there and when I reset the phone it goes back to normal.
I've just installed Ovi maps 3.01 on my N95 device, and downloaded maps for my country. But when I turn on the maps application, all the roads are placed in total wrong places. Some leads over water and through forests, and nothing seem to be right. I get my location on the right spot of the map, but the roads are chaotic.Any clues what could be wrong? I've already tried to reinstall the map file.
My Nokia X3 is not displaying any pictures in the viewer, it only displays a message that "No Photos To Display", can any one tell me what should I do, I even tried *#7780# and reinstalled the firmware but still the problem persists?
I have a 5800 XM with Ovi Maps v 3.03. Is it possible to make the street names larger in size? The street names are only 1 milimeter in height in both 2D and 3D view, regardless of zoom level. I am aware there is the street name you are currently on in the center top section in a larger font size, which definitely helps, but it would be nice to have the larger fonts for surrounding streets.Also, is there a way to get rid of the white bar on the right side that houses the "search" and "menu" links? The 5800's screen is already small for GPS standards, and this white bar subtracts almost 1 cm of valuable screen real-estate. It would be nice to not have the white bar and have the "search" and "menu" links stay where they are, but perhaps have a white highlight around the letters or something like that.
after I updated my Nokia E6 to the recent software, it doesnt show the callers names when receiving a call and when receiving an sms. I have to save the same number twice, once with international prefix example +963 (thats for my home country) and once without. When receiving calls it show the name only if saved without the prefix (unless its an international call) and when receiving sms it shows the name only when its saved with the international prefix. I didnt have that problem before the update!

I have a 701. When looking at grouped sms messages I no longer see them described by users name (when the contact is in my contact list). Instead, every message is identified by the phone number. So whereas before I could easily id them now its more difficult. Anyone know how I can get the original setting back? Messaging is set to display in groups.
While playing Superbowl the handset started to behave differently. After exiting the game some questions marks (????) appeared on the desktop and instead of icons there were only little titles there. Tried restarting the handset resulted in failure to do so (not booting).
