Cseries :: Nokia C3-00 CID Not Showing Contact Names?

When someone calls me the call display shows their number and their "registered" name example: I have Kati McGee saved in my contacts with her number, but when she calls it is Katherin McGee and her number, never my saved name. When i get the message that i missed a call it comes from my contacts, as well as text messages.
How do I make it show what is entered in my phone book? I have tried anything I can find to try, with no luck.

When most people call my phone only their number is displayed. All numbers are saved only once. Have tried saving them to the phone and then the sim again nothing seems to work it's so frustrating

Does anyone have the issue of when someone calls you and there # is in your phone book but it doesn't show there name when they call.it only shows there number? I don't know how to get rid of it....if I even can.

I am having a problem where most of my contact names will not display when I receive a call or text message, just their number. This happened all of the sudden and, as it seems to me, randomly.
I have disabled all content protection, tried changing the smart dialing settings, cleared the event log, tried reordering the contact list and did a few battery pulls.
Some of the contact names are still working correctly, but it is a select few and I cannot figure out why only those ones are showing. I have not installed any new software recently or changed any settings other than to try and fix this issue.

I also have the Google sync and Facebook apps linked to my contacts.

Have had the 9670 Style for a few weeks now. Didn't have this problem, but then about a week ago, suddenly every call I receive from a contact only shows the number!

i got a new Blackberry Bold 9900 from Wind Mobile. It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people). I tried adding +1 or removing +1 infront of the number but that does nothing.

for some reason, some of my contacts are now no longer showing up against text messages i receive - it just shows their number.
some still have names next to them Deleting and re-adding doesnt seem to work and neither does changing the country code

When I do write an SMS to someone I clearly see her name but I get the reply on another thread with the phone number instead of hear name so 2 problem here, why another thread and why the phone number rather the name. Same thing when someone send me an SMS I do receive it as a number rather then the name and when I do reply it creates a new thread with the name of the person.

I bought a Nokia 5230 yesterday and I'm already experiencing an annoying problem.I told people on Facebook to text me their name so I could just put them into Contacts which I then did. But their names doesn't show in Inbox, only their phone numbers. What the **bleep**?I somehow added a friend of mine which IS showing, but I did that manually. I then tried adding some of the others manually with no result - still showing only their numbers.Whats wrong?

I've been using using my E51 for about 2 years, and it suddenly stopped displaying the contact names for SMS messages.There are no duplicates in the contact list.The thing is, it's started when I synced my phone with Ovi online.Could anybody find a solution for this ?It's quite annoying not having the names of the contacts

With some of my contacts an incoming call with a Caller ID does not display the caller's name, although they are in my Contact List and the number is in a valid format.Same is the case for sms's from the same contact.I only have one entry of that contact in my phonebook.Any 1 facing the same issue?

I have had this phone for about 8 months and it has always showed me who in my contact list is sending me a text message. It has only shown the phone number if the person texting me is not in my contact list.A few days ago, it started showing me only the number that sent the text message. I have no idea why it started this, maybe some wrong buttons got pushed while I was carrying it around in my pocket? It doesn't always lock when I close the phone, and sometimes I don't notice it when I slide the phone into my pocket.I've tried adding the number to my contact list, and it adds it just fine, but the next time I get a text from that number, only the number shows up again.This is quite frustrating, and I would like to get if fixed, does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to correct this?Old messages from before this started happening still show the names.I haven't had it connected to my computer since the phone was new and as far as I know, it hasn't done any software upgrades or anything like that.

Nokia 5030 don't show names of all calling/sms writing people- saved in adress book. Some people numbers saved in adress book when calling to me I see, their name, but most of saved names and numbers in adress/sim book, don't show name, only number, like they aren't saved in phone book. The same thing is with sms receiving. Phone is 10 days old.

Had my Nokia N8 for about a year now, recently updated to Belle and I think it looks lovely but I've had so many problems since. Now this new one has started and I don't know if it's a bug that I can fix or not, randomly it loses the contact name associations when I open up the text message inbox. It just comes up with the phone numbers, the contacts are still there and when I reset the phone it goes back to normal.

I deleted all the "unsatisfactory" music that was preloaded on my e71 mini using the delete function in the music player and it said the files were deleted but it still shows the album names.

A couple day ago my phone started only displaying the numbers of people who were txting me, not the contact names.
There is no double entries in the phonebook of any of the contacts, ie there is only 1 contact per number - so it should be able to match it up.
Also, phone freezes every so often when I unlock it.

I have a 701. When looking at grouped sms messages I no longer see them described by users name (when the contact is in my contact list). Instead, every message is identified by the phone number. So whereas before I could easily id them now its more difficult. Anyone know how I can get the original setting back? Messaging is set to display in groups.

I have looked everywhere for a solution to this problem, so please forgive me if this question has been asked before. I have been searching non-stop for a way to resolve it.This is a problem that has been plaguing me since the 5.0 upgrade. I am a TELUS Tour user and my SMS messages all show the number of the contact, but not their names. However, when I press the BB button, there is a "View Contact" option that takes me to that contact's name and details.Why is this and how can I fix it so it shows the names of my contacts?

I have an annoying problem with my contacts-application. Sometimes when I get a call from a saved contact, ONLY the number is displayed as if it was an unsaved number. This also happends sometimes when I call a contact from my phonebook, it only displays the number and not the name.This even happends when I call a number/contact from my "Recent calls"-list. Both outgoing and incoming calls.

Last night I synced my Contacts between my iPhone and Mobile with my Mac (which had a blank address book).
I was sure I had selected to Replace The Data on the Mac, but what happened was that all my contacts got erased on the iPhone and MobileMe.
I was able to put them back together fairly quickly, but I now gave two birthday calanders on my iPhone. Everybody's name is shown twice on their birthday.
I only want to the built in bithday calander that use the data in the Contacts App.

I bought a Galaxy s5 & the Vodafone bloke tried to copy my contacts from my Galaxy Y to my Galaxy s5. I am not 100% sure the method he used but now on my new galaxy s5 i only have a list of contact NAMES but no numbers with those names. On my galaxy Y i only have numbers with NO names!
I've left my phone with them for 4 days now & they can't resolve the issue. They said that i have a VCR file.

Every time I change a name in my contacts, it goes back to the name it was before and then if I have an emoji at the end, it deletes it. What can I do to stop this from happening?

I've had my phone for about 5 months now and everything's been fine. But a couple weeks ago, I tried to change some of my contacts' names by adding emojis or changing their full names to nicknames I like to call them. About 30 seconds after changing one of them, I saw it change back to what it originally was as soon as I opened my messages, so I went back to my contacts list and saw that all of the ones I had changed went back to what they were before.Â
The problem now has gotten worse, seeing as whenever I try to change someone's contact name or add a new contact and put some emojis to their name, a minute later the emojis will be completely cleared out of the name or if it was an old contact, it will change to something totally random(the emojis could just change to some different emojis, or the name will change back to what it was before, or if I had 3 emojis the last 2 will be deleted etc.). This is also extremely annoying because when it randomly decides to change back to what it was before, things like their contact picture will just randomly change to an old one or just clear out overall. It's also really weird cuz when I pull down to "iPhone search" on my home screen and try to look my contacts up, some of their names will appear as what I tried to change it to but then in my contact list be completely different.Â
I've tried everything from restarting my phone to deleting the contacts and recreating them (still takes off the emojis or some other weird stuff) It's just really annoying cuz I have some contacts with the same names & need to be able to differentiate themp.

I just bought new Nokia C1-01. I am not finding its Operating System as user friendly as other models of Nokia. The two greate bugs I found in its Operating System is, If you have created a new contact and then if you want to edit it, there will be no option is awailable. Other is if you want to delete the contact, there is only option to Delete All Contacts from SIM or Memory, Not for single contact. Is there any way or updates in the software regarding it?
