for some reason, some of my contacts are now no longer showing up against text messages i receive - it just shows their number.
some still have names next to them Deleting and re-adding doesnt seem to work and neither does changing the country code

When I do write an SMS to someone I clearly see her name but I get the reply on another thread with the phone number instead of hear name so 2 problem here, why another thread and why the phone number rather the name. Same thing when someone send me an SMS I do receive it as a number rather then the name and when I do reply it creates a new thread with the name of the person.

It's not displaying names of the contacts in message folder but instead is displaying ONLY numbers. This is creating difficulty for me to go back in contacts and see which person is sending SMS.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen someone calls me the call display shows their number and their "registered" name example: I have Kati McGee saved in my contacts with her number, but when she calls it is Katherin McGee and her number, never my saved name. When i get the message that i missed a call it comes from my contacts, as well as text messages.
How do I make it show what is entered in my phone book? I have tried anything I can find to try, with no luck.
As I was scrolling through my recent messages my iPhone 3GS suddenly removed all the contact names from the list of messages and replaced them with their corresponding phone numbers. All I was doing was scrolling through the message list... no settings were changed. After this happened I checked my contacts list, and everything appears to be intact there. However, my phone app also no longer shows the contact name, but just the phone number. Turning the device off then on did nothing. How could this happen as I'm using the device, without me changing any settings on the phone. It makes absolutely no sense at all!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where most of my contact names will not display when I receive a call or text message, just their number. This happened all of the sudden and, as it seems to me, randomly.
I have disabled all content protection, tried changing the smart dialing settings, cleared the event log, tried reordering the contact list and did a few battery pulls.
Some of the contact names are still working correctly, but it is a select few and I cannot figure out why only those ones are showing. I have not installed any new software recently or changed any settings other than to try and fix this issue.

i got a new Blackberry Bold 9900 from Wind Mobile. It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people). I tried adding +1 or removing +1 infront of the number but that does nothing.

It has only shown the phone number if the person texting me is not in my contact list.A few days ago, it started showing me only the number that sent the text message. I have no idea why it started this, maybe some wrong buttons got pushed while I was carrying it around in my pocket? View 27 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.
I have a 701. When looking at grouped sms messages I no longer see them described by users name (when the contact is in my contact list). Instead, every message is identified by the phone number. So whereas before I could easily id them now its more difficult. Anyone know how I can get the original setting back? Messaging is set to display in groups.

Today I received a rather strange spam text message (something about PPI and claiming money) that completely took over my phone I say text message because I received that alert just as this thing appeared on my screen.I could not get out of this thing; not even the home button worked! The only way it would allow me to exit the message was for me to click a large green button named "Dismiss"; no other buttons were presented. Not being stupid, I never clicked this button and turned off my iPhone, which got rid of the message.

I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing

I have a wierd SMS problem with a couple of BB Curve 8900s. For some reason on this model SMS's are showing as coming from 1 contact (when there are a lot more) and when you hit reply it replies to that 1 contact and not to the person who actually sent it. I can't see any problems in the settings that could be causing this. Obviously the last thing I want to do is rebuild the devices so can anyone think of what might be causing this?

So while using categories I noticed when you put in certain folder names the icons will sometimes automatically change to correspond to the theme you are using.I have only done this with 2 names: "Games" and "Apps"
I tried searching google for a specific list of names I could make them that would go with my theme but then realized its theme specific. Any ideas or can any1 teach me how to check? Im using glassklart and there are thousands of app icons so I imagine there are some other folder names that will do what I want that I simply just cant think of.
