IPhone :: Why Is Email Address Showing Up When Friends Receive A Text Message
Jun 18, 2012
All my friends have been telling me that when they receive a message from me (sent as a text message), my email address shows up at the top of the page instead of the name they put in their contact list.
I have nokia e71 .i need a email setting i like recive email direct in my cell phne like a msg...and a other prb is i can,t delete emails from inbox how its possible
Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0. I receive text messages from work through an email address. I have the address saved in my contacts as an email address. I would like to have a specific notification tone for these messages. Is this possible?
When my sister calls or texts or face times me it shows up as coming from her email address instead of the phone number associated with her iPhone 4s.When I text her phone number it does not register as iMessage but when I text her email address it does show iMessage.Similarly, I can FaceTime with her via her email address but not her phone number.Lastly, when I factime or text her email address it shows up on both her iPad and iPhone when she is on wifi. What is going on? This seems really really strange to us.
I cannot receive emails to a new email address on my iphone 4. It is coming up with the message "cannot get mail. The Mail server ..... is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings"
I have a brand new 3GS. For some reason, when I type in the letter M in the "to" field of a new email, my contacts who start with M will come up, along with a third random email address that starts with an m. I don't recognize it (it looks like a spam address actually) and I've never written to/from it on my iPhone.
Where did it come from and how can I get rid of it? I've tried restoring and then re-setting up my email accounts but that didn't get rid of it. If it makes a difference, the phone was purchased brand new from the Apple store. I'm the only one who's touched my phone.
My phone wont let me send or receive text or calls even if there are bars showing in the corner. It is constantly on no service. i have called my service provider (Vodafone) but they said that there shouldnt be an issue with coverage.
I purchased the 4S (iOS 5.1) and am having a hard time deactivating text previews... All that I've read says to go to settings> messages> show preview then slide to off position, the only problem is, is that I do not have the "show preview" option to slide off.
Today I received a rather strange spam text message (something about PPI and claiming money) that completely took over my phone I say text message because I received that alert just as this thing appeared on my screen.I could not get out of this thing; not even the home button worked! The only way it would allow me to exit the message was for me to click a large green button named "Dismiss"; no other buttons were presented. Not being stupid, I never clicked this button and turned off my iPhone, which got rid of the message.
If I have my internet/data turned off and iMessage turned on but I have "send as SMS" turned off and my friend who has an iPhone sends me a message and I receive it as a text message, do I get charged? Does she get charged?
when sending text messages my phone is sending them as my email address, under settings/messages, my iMessage has my phone number errored out in the "you can be reached for messages at" field.
After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox. It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all!
I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing
I am not able to send message but i am able to recieve messages and i can even send imessage but cant send normal text message. i removed the sim and used it in an other phone and i am able to send message. so its not the problem with the carrier. i also used different sim and i was not able to send message from my iphone with that also. i reset the to factory settings and i still have the problem
I have configured both Gmail and Yahoo on my Bold 9790 (OS 7.0). But when I try to do a remote search on the server I only see my GMAIL account and not the Yahoo account? This is really annoying.
i did have an i phone 4 but due to diabolical battery life i upgraded to Android one Galaxy S2, now my friends who have i phone are texting me but i am not receiving the texts. Apparently this is happening to lot of people due to the 5 update, my number is registered to apple servers so phones sending think sending to iphone when not?
I Can't Add People Or Receive Invitations From Friends On My Blackberry Messenger..It Used To Work A few Months Ago But Now It Don't. I have Updated It And It Don't Work.
I have a Blackberry Torch 9800 and my OS is V6.0.0.723. My carrier is AT&T.I am having issues trying to send a TEXT MESSAGE to an EMAIL address. I do not have a data plan.I have a friend that sends me emails from his PC to my CellNumber@txt.att.net and I received them as TEXT MESSAGES. I then reply to that same TEXT MESSAGE and he receives it in his email on his PC.But when I try to send (not just reply) a new TEXT MESSAGE to his EMAIL address, it fails. I get a little red clock for a while, then nothing.I have spoke to AT&T and they say it should work.My friend is also on AT&T, and he too does not have a data plan, and he sends TEXTS to his EMAIL address all the time without challenge. He does not have a Blackberry.
I got a Nokia Lumia 610 two weeks ago on contract. Love it. My type of phone. Problem is, recently I cannot recieve incoming calls from my friends and family. Some are important. Now, this mainly happens when I am at home. I went to Phones4u when I got it from and they said 'oh its your signal'. But I checked my signal online through Vodafone... guess what? My phone can recieve calls and text messages. My mum has an Blackberry and she can recieve incoming calls, she lives in the same house as me.I just do not get it. Is there something wrong with the phone? Is it the signal? Just need some help because I am missing important phone calls from my friends and family.
