I bought a new iphone this weekend and am still learning how to work it.However, this morning when I wanted to send a text,my contact list was empty....nothing.how I can retrieve or how it may have been deleted....so that I don't do it again?

I'm using a Sony Xperia 3. In my contact list there is no names with english letters, i'm using only russian letters, because i speak russian. But on the right part of the window in the contact list located a fast search with russian and english letters. It would be convenient if there were only those letters on which names in my address book begin.

It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people). I tried adding +1 or removing +1 infront of the number but that does nothing.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

I've had my phone for about 5 months now and everything's been fine. But a couple weeks ago, I tried to change some of my contacts' names by adding emojis or changing their full names to nicknames I like to call them. About 30 seconds after changing one of them, I saw it change back to what it originally was as soon as I opened my messages, so I went back to my contacts list and saw that all of the ones I had changed went back to what they were before.Â
The problem now has gotten worse, seeing as whenever I try to change someone's contact name or add a new contact and put some emojis to their name, a minute later the emojis will be completely cleared out of the name or if it was an old contact, it will change to something totally random(the emojis could just change to some different emojis, or the name will change back to what it was before, or if I had 3 emojis the last 2 will be deleted etc.). This is also extremely annoying because when it randomly decides to change back to what it was before, things like their contact picture will just randomly change to an old one or just clear out overall. It's also really weird cuz when I pull down to "iPhone search" on my home screen and try to look my contacts up, some of their names will appear as what I tried to change it to but then in my contact list be completely different.Â
I've tried everything from restarting my phone to deleting the contacts and recreating them (still takes off the emojis or some other weird stuff) It's just really annoying cuz I have some contacts with the same names & need to be able to differentiate themp.

I used to have an Iphone 4 32GB and I don't have issue on saving any contact info that I type in. Then after I upgraded to the new Iphone 4S-64gb and have my contacts transferred to my new iphone by the Apple salesperson. I am now unable to save any contact info to my new iphone 4S. I tried reformating my iphone and did a restore from my computer using Itune back to my iphone, and it let me save my new contact but after a while, it will not save any contact at all, even though I have plenty of available space on my iphone.I have called apple tech and was advised to have it replace from AT&T store, which I did, so I have the new replacement Iphone 4S -64GB. at first it seems to work fine but lately, it will not let me save any contact info whenever I tried doing it. it just won't save it no matter what I do? Ifor it is very annoying not to be able to save new contacts.

I have two different contacts on my phone. These are Lesley and Lesley India. When I ask Siri to call Lesley I am asked which one I want to call being given the options of Lesley or Lesley India. If I state just Lesley then Siri asks me the same question i.e. Lesley or Lesley India. My old iPhone 3GS could work this out fine but Siri can't!

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I was scrolling through my recent messages my iPhone 3GS suddenly removed all the contact names from the list of messages and replaced them with their corresponding phone numbers. All I was doing was scrolling through the message list... no settings were changed. After this happened I checked my contacts list, and everything appears to be intact there. However, my phone app also no longer shows the contact name, but just the phone number. Turning the device off then on did nothing. How could this happen as I'm using the device, without me changing any settings on the phone. It makes absolutely no sense at all!

Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.

I have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

I am not 100% sure the method he used but now on my new galaxy s5 i only have a list of contact NAMES but no numbers with those names. On my galaxy Y i only have numbers with NO names!
I've left my phone with them for 4 days now & they can't resolve the issue. They said that i have a VCR file.
