I have an annoying problem with my contacts-application. Sometimes when I get a call from a saved contact, ONLY the number is displayed as if it was an unsaved number. This also happends sometimes when I call a contact from my phonebook, it only displays the number and not the name.This even happends when I call a number/contact from my "Recent calls"-list. Both outgoing and incoming calls.

When i get the message that i missed a call it comes from my contacts, as well as text messages.
How do I make it show what is entered in my phone book? I have tried anything I can find to try, with no luck.
I have seen a strange issue with N8. At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.
My 5800 only shows the phone number, not the name of the person / business (as listed in my contacts).Shouldn't this happen automatically or is there are setting for this?

I recently had to send my phone to be fixed because it had got wet. It came back working fine but all factory seetings had been restored. So I added all my freidns back on my bbm. But most of them arent showing their pics. When they change their pic seems to solve that problem but still annoying for those that don't.Also, my profile pic is not showing to anyone. I've changed it a couple of times but still nothing!

Hiya, for as long as I can remember my girlfriends name has not shown up in my messages/recent calls etc - only her number. I've tried deleting the conversation and her contact and re-adding again - didn't work.
Tried disabling iCloud Contacts sync while doing it, no luck. Also tried resetting my network settings and still no luck

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen i receive an sms it only shows the number that send it, but that number is in my contactlist. I would expect that it would show the contact name. All sms message so far show only the number, except from 1 person. But i cannot figure out why it is not matching up the rest. I tried different phonenumber possibilities to put in the contact: I tried: erasing the contact, and add it via the sms menu option(add to contacts) erasing all sim contact to have no duplicates. upgrading to the latest firmware version. rebooting the phone,remove battery,add batterij, restart but nothing seem to fix the issue. Another symptom is that when sending an sms to a person it shows the contact list name in the sent items, but when that person replies the inbox shows again only the number.

Why are they not automatically showing anymore? Then a few days ago, I was messing with the settings to try to fix this and I quadrupled my contacts. receiving call on SIM 1 will show up the name and photo (if any) - and of course if the contact is stored in the phonebook - in the display. The same caller (who of course is stored in the phonebook) calls me on SIM 2 - the display shows me only a number, nor the name and neither the photo. Both calls has been made from a cell-phone to my motorola. All the contacts are stored under PHONE. There are no contacts neither in SIM1 nor in SIM2.

For some reason on this model SMS's are showing as coming from 1 contact (when there are a lot more) and when you hit reply it replies to that 1 contact and not to the person who actually sent it. I can't see any problems in the settings that could be causing this. Obviously the last thing I want to do is rebuild the devices so can anyone think of what might be causing this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem where most of my contact names will not display when I receive a call or text message, just their number. This happened all of the sudden and, as it seems to me, randomly.
I have disabled all content protection, tried changing the smart dialing settings, cleared the event log, tried reordering the contact list and did a few battery pulls.
Some of the contact names are still working correctly, but it is a select few and I cannot figure out why only those ones are showing. I have not installed any new software recently or changed any settings other than to try and fix this issue.

When one of my phone contacts texts me, their name has a small mobile phone icon at the side of their name instead of the standard icon.This icon also shows up in my email inbox and BBM when they text me, and I can also open their texts in my email and BBM.I can also reply via SMS using my email and my BBM.When they text me a message, the standard message symbol doesn't appear, although the light flashes the colour I have set to that contact, and a BBM symbol comes up. If I open the message in the SMS or Email inbox, the BBM symbol disappears. I've tried rebooting the phone, and it doesn't do this with any other of my contacts.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just switched to the HTC One M9 and am using GoSMS Pro for my messaging. In my Phonebook Contacts, all of my linked FB contacts have their current profile pic showing up but in the GoSMS Pro app, they just show up as default blue avatar. I can manually save each profile pic and assign it to a contact, but I don't want to have to do that for all of my FB friends!
These are the only setting options I have in GoSMS Pro:
I use Htc one m8 and a Google nexus 7. I store my contacts on gmail. My question is that all my contact photos show up on my computer and Nexus but some photos do not show on my HTC. The same images are missing from my wife's HTC. These are not large images, some just clipart.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI see with the ICS update, Motorola has added (back) events to contacts, like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. However, I can't seem to get these to display in my calendar.
Under Calendar... Menu... Calendars to Display, I managed to figure out how to add "Contact's birthdays and events", and it is checked, but they still don't actually display in my calendar.
BTW, I assume that a birthday of like 9/15/1990 will show up in the calendar on 9/15/2012. I am using the stock ICS contacts and calendar (no extra apps). Has anyone gotten this new ICS feature to work?
