My 5800 only shows the phone number, not the name of the person / business (as listed in my contacts).Shouldn't this happen automatically or is there are setting for this?

Contact name is not showing on incoming calls on my iphone 4s. All my contacts are saved with country codes. SMS is ok.

When I have the headset on, and someone calls me, the ringtone can be heard from both the speakers and the headsets, which I think make no sense at all. I'm using the headset that comes with the phone BTW
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince flashing my phone to update to PR1.2, any time I get a phone call from someone who is in my Contacts, it just displays the telephone number, which can cause an issue if I don't recognise it at first glance.Any ideas what could have caused this and how to resolve? When somebody in my contacts list calls my BB Bold 9930 I do not see the contact name, just the phone number. However when my BB is unlocked and somebody in my contacts list calls then I see the associated name with the number. When the phone is locked then I only see the number. How can I see the caller name for anyone who is in my contacts list even when my phone is locked?

So I don't know who it is...frustrating!!! Yet, when I call out, I do see their name. Then to make it worse, it is random...meaning sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAll my contacts are synced, Facebook profile pics show up on the contact list but Caller ID photos do not show for incoming/sending calls. Its just the generic picture. However Google+ profile pictures do appear in a small circle on the bottom left corner on a gray background.
PS: The problem started after the 5.0 update. I've already reset the phone and tried doing the update with PC Companion. Nothing works.

It comes with call displays but whenever someone calls me and I have their number saved into my contact list their name wont show up. So I don't know who is calling me even though I have their number saved into my phone. Sometimes it shows up and sometime it doesn't (same people). View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.
View 4 Replies View Related1) I cannot stop the alarms or reminders when phone is in lock state: When the handset is locked and I get a reminder tone for alarm/reminders, then the STOP and SNOOZE buttons on the screen are disabled. I have to snooze the alarm by pressing the red button on the handset, then unlock the mobile and wait for snooze time (also ensure that mobile is unlocked), and then press the STOP button on the screen.
This is creating huge problem, because to stop any alarm or reminder, I have to wait till the snooze time with mobile unlocked.
2) Cannot turn my phone to silence during incoming call when mobile is in lock state: When I receive any call and if the mobile is in locked mode, I cannot make(rather silence button on screen is disabled) the ringing to silent. If the mobile is in unlocked mode, then any incoming call can be made silent by pressing the silence button on the screen. Again here i need to ensure that phone is in unlock state or use the start/stop button on the side of teh phone.......
I have a Nokia 5800 XM (RM-428 v31.2.101.263.04) and would like to enable auto-unlock touchscreen during incoming call. It is quite annoying to have to use touchscreen unlock slider on the side and then press "Answer" to answer any incoming call.

1) WHEN SOMEONE CALLS, THE SCREEN SHOWS TWO ON-SCREEN BUTTONS, 'UNLOCK' AND 'ANSWER' BUTTON.THESE BUTTONS ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL ON TOUCH.I ATTENDED CALL WITH 'RECIEVE CALL' BUTTON MANUALLY.
2) ALSO,WHEN THE ALARM RINGS IT SHOWS SAME KINDA SCREEN AS ABOVE BUT WITH TWO ON-SCREEN BUTTONS OF 'STOP' N 'SNOOZE'.THESE ON-SCREEN BUTTONS ARE NON FUNCTIONAL.I HAVE TO STOP ALARM BY 'END CALL' BUTTON MANUALLY.
3) SOMETIMES THE SCREEN GOES WEIRD KINDA BLUR.TO GET IT BACK I HAVE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK SCREEN

YESTERDAY I REFORMATTED THE PHONE REMOVING MEMORY CARD AND I NOTICED THAT I GOT THE ALRAM SCREEN ALL RIGHT AS IT WAS NORMALLY.BUT THEN AFTER A FEW HOURS I PLACED IN THE MEMORY CARD AND THEN TODAY THE ALARM SCREEN WAS THE SAME AS IN PROBLEM 1.
I updated my software to 40.0.005 few days ago. However , now there are a lot of problems.
1. the answer tab on screen does not function while there is an incoming call.
2. the alarm cant be switched off using touch screen .
I have recently purchased an N97 in Australia, when I have incoming calls from my contacts, most do not display names.If SIM contacts are selected, the contacts are displayed but when copied to phone and editted ie; ring tones to contact, additional details, etc and then selecting phone memory as default the contacts are not displayed to most of incoming calls.By reverting to SIM contacts as default, you lose all the additional features of the so called "smart phone".There seems to be no rhym or reason to why some contacts are displaye and most are not! Can anyone help with this frustrating problem?
