BB Curve 8500 :: Callers Name Not Showing Up On Incoming Calls And Text
Mar 18, 2010
I purchased the 8530 Curve and sync my contacts from my data base (437 of them). When people call or text me I always see the phone number, but not always their name? So I don't know who it is...frustrating!!! Yet, when I call out, I do see their name. Then to make it worse, it is random...meaning sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
I am an newbie in terms of the world of Blackberry. On my previous phones I have gotten used to the display turning on when a call and/or text message arrived. I can't seem to get that to happen with my 8530 Curve. Can that feature be turned on?Also, can the display to directly to text messages and/or e-mails without me having to navigate to the appropriate folder?
AT&T LG G3, Lollipop 5.0.1 ... All of a sudden, all incoming calls are displayed as "+1 xxx-xxx-xxxx". Up until recently, they were always displayed as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Is there a setting where I can disable the "+1"?
My 5800 only shows the phone number, not the name of the person / business (as listed in my contacts).Shouldn't this happen automatically or is there are setting for this?
Have had the 9670 Style for a few weeks now. Didn't have this problem, but then about a week ago, suddenly every call I receive from a contact only shows the number!
Every cell I've had until now shows the contacts name as long as they are in the phones contact list. I'm using a Storm 2 9550 and I've been rooting through the settings trying to see if there's a way to show a contacts name but I'm not having much luck.
Today I connected my Iphone to my Itunes for the first time in a long time, and incoming callers cannot hear me. I can call them back, and then they hear me. The phone is not on mute and the volume is up. I update to 5.1 and still having the same problem.
OK out of no where my 8520 started now showing text or notifing me of texts it just shows the little text notification that I have a text. When I go to read it it's not there.I'm not using the default theme. When I switch to the default theme it throws everything off. This phone is brand new I had to get a new curve for a different reason.I'm stuck with this for 2 years.
I have iphone4. All sounds are on and have worked fine until today. Now no sound with incoming calls, text, etc., although my alarm did sound this morning. I have tried turning them all off, turning phone off, then turning everything back on hoping it would reset itself. No luck.
Running 6.0 Bundle 695 (v6.0.0.246, Platform 6.4.0.105) on BB Torch 9800.I can't hear incoming callers on handset mode but speakerphone works. The caller can hear me on both modes. Have done the following but to no avail:- Wiped BB- Removed battery and rebooted- Removed 3rd party applications- Volume is up- Bluetooth is off- Plugged in earphones and can hear- Speakerphone works fine
I have an Iphone 4 and I just changed my number. After changing it ( last weekend) my phone has not let me receive or send texts or calls. Also, when I go to message settings on my phone my old number is still there and idk how to put in my new one. I have already tried resetting network settings. but that hasn't worked....
I am having a problem with Blackberry messenger on my handset where the text box at the bottom of the screen goes blank where you type and I can't see the text I have written. And orange customer services are near enough useless and have told me to ask here about this problem. Also sometimes the cursor moves and no text is written while typing.I have un-installed the application and re-installed it with no help and performed about 10 hand held wipes. Please can someone give me the solution to this problem before I take a hammer to this phone.
I have Blackberry 8520. earlier I was using Nokia E 90.I transferred my contacts from Nokia to CSV file and got them coverted to .ipd file using Amber vCard onverter. I restored the .ipd file into my Black berry using Desktop Manager. The software shows 784 contacts and that is same as it was in my E 90.
However when I select contacts in my Blackberry I dont see them. However Desktop manager shows 784 contacts. Please tell how do I see these contacts in my Black berry.
When I recieve a call or have a missed call I receive no info on who called, I know that the callers are in my contact list and I have also called my mobile from my wifes phone and my landline to test this.In the call log the only info is the call and (no number)
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 and have a media card inserted. All I want to do is upload my photos from the phone to my PC - I have downloaded the most recent Media Sync software and when I connect the BB, 16 photos only come up - there are more than that and these are the old photos that have previously been 'deleted'. The photos which I am viewing on the phone are nowhere to be seen. I have tried to enable USB on the memory menu and I just get these 16 old pictures.I have looked at the device on My Computer, and I can see these blasted 16 photos in the 'pictures' folder in the blackberry folder, but when I open the 'camera album' it is empty. How can this be?I think there may be a ghost in the machine, and I will be finding out soon as the **bleep** thing will be thrown against the wall and stamped on repeatedly!
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 with v5.0.xx installed. I just setup my Gmail IMAP on my BB and when I read a message on my BB it doesn't show as read on my computer and visa versa.
I'm new to blackberry. I purchased a Blackberry Curve 8520 yesterday and I am having some trouble with it.
Problem 1: New messages wont show up, I have to go into general messages and select "View Folder" > "SMS Inbox"
I have it set to combined simply because I just want all my messages in the main message folder but whenever a new message comes in I have to go into the SMS inbox folder.
Problem 2: I'm having the same trouble with my email, I keep getting the notification come up for a new email but it is no-where to be found.
Problem 3: I've set my blackberry to the Vibrate profile, the only time it seems to vibrate is when I get a new facebook notification and thats it.
I just asked a friend to call me online, and he kept getting my voice mail without the phone ringing at all. I tried calling out, and when I did, the phone told me that the "radio mode" was "off," and that it was turning it off. How did I manage to turn off the ability of my phone to send and receive calls? I don't think I did anything like that.
I just bought my 8520 last week and this afternoon I was not able to make and receive calls using my new blackberry. I took out the battery and sim card and waited for about a minute before putting them back in. It seemed to be working this time, but I just wanted to know what has happened to my phone. Can anyone shed some light on it so that I can avoid this problem in future?
